...…
After an entire day of waiting, the long-awaited system notification of everyone finally arrived!
*Ding!*
System: Attention Players of Holy City! The Monster Horde finally arrived! Ready your weapons and defend the walls of the City! The fate of the Holy City is in your hands!
System: The entire City Defense – Monster Horde Quest will immediately take place. So, the event registration will end now.
System: Day 1: Wave no.1 starts now!
…
The players that were registered on the event suddenly burst in excitement while the players that failed to register became disappointed for not making it in time. Especially when they heard the rumbling sound that was coming from a distance of the City.
Rumble!
Or at least until they saw what type of monsters are coming after them.
Awoo~! Awoo~!
What they saw were wolves, not just a bunch of wolves, but quite a number of packs of them. Wolves were beasts that always hunt with groups, and that was why they were hard to deal with. But what about if they were in packs? What's more, it was not only a single pack, but a number of wolf packs that were surging from all directions of the City.
And if you add to that fact that these wolves were not just ordinary wolves but monster wolves, and corrupted monsters at that, then this City Defense was going to be a troublesome matter.
Moreover, this was only the first wave of the Monster Horde that was going to take place for an entire week.
Or these were the thoughts that were running inside the head of the ordinary independent players and casual gamers.
Because the upper echelons of the powerful guilds and skilled players were thinking differently. If the monsters of this event had high-class monsters from the get-go, then the preceding monsters after this were going to become even more powerful. Which also mean that this event would give them much more experience points during the process, and much better rewards at the end of it.
With these trains of thoughts, the players belonging to these groups became even more motivated and more positive about this game.
…
"Tsk! Looks like this is going to become a little messy. But at the very least, we are going to get a couple of interesting rewards during and after this event," muttered by a player that looks like a leader of the group.
A moment later, he and his team could already see the incoming wolf packs in the distance.
This leader squinted his eyes as he looked at the incoming monsters and said. "Frontline players, take on your positions and get ready from the incoming impact! Supports, make sure that you are ready to give timely support any time."

"Range and Magical Class, when the monsters enter your range, immediately start firing at them and slow them down. Lessen their numbers if possible."
Those commands were quite simple, but it had quite a number of hidden commands on it. But since their team seemed to be an expert team at the very least, the members of the team were able to understand them and execute them fully.
Just like the usual groups, the first one to make their moves were the Archers and Musketeers.
And since the Gunslinger and Sniper paths of the Musketeer Class were focused on damaging one target at a time, they were grouped together to do a focus firing at a single target before moving to another.
Even though Gunslingers also have a couple of multi-targets or large-scale destructive skills, those were skills that either had some restrictions on it or were not suitable for this kind of battle.
The Archer Classes, on the other hand, had a little edge in terms of versatility. They could both have a single target skill and multi-target skill. And with that, it was a given that an AOE(Area of Effect) skill was more effective on this current situation. That was why they were spamming these kinds of skills to hinder the incoming wolves.
And when those packs reached the range of the Mages and other magical classes, the players with those classes also started their assault.
The players Mages with ice, water and other related elements started their firing first to slow down the incoming wolves before the magical classes possessing fire, light, lighting and other damage related elements, burst out the wolves with their spells.
And when the corrupted monsters arrived at the spot where the tanks and other melee classes were standing, those guys laying in wait, finally started the battle excitedly.
This was only a small episode about what was happening on the entire battlefield as there were similar things that were taking place all around the vicinity outside the walls of the Holy City.
Screams and roars, gunshots and explosions, metal clanging, and voices that were either shouting to give out some orders or to exert some force. These were the noises that were resounding in the entire battlefield around the Holy City, indicating the chaotic battle that was taking place.
In the middle of this chaotic battle, it didn't take too long for some noticeable individuals and groups to show their brightness.
And one of them was a group of three players that was currently slaughtering a corrupted wolf after another.
No matter how hard this group tried to keep a low profile, all of their efforts were futile.
The reason?
"D*mn! How much of an idi*t are these guys? They didn't even know how to handle a single corrupted wolf properly yet they are still luring a bunch of them!" shouted by Shin with a noticeable annoyance.

Simba clicked his tongue and said. "What? Isn't this your plan? I told you that we should pick going under the umbrella of some powerful groups to keep a low-profile yet you keep on insisting to be on this post to fill the gaps," while chopping down yet another corrupted wolf.
"What can I do? From one look, and based on the information that you have given me, this place will surely get breached since there are no skilled groups that are capable enough to handle these monsters," replied Shin after killing a corrupted wolf.
Simba grabbed the head of the corrupted wolf in front of him and smashed it on the ground powerfully. Then he tightened his grip on that wolf's head before jumping in the air and threw that wolf at the other monsters that were coming after him, before his feet landed on the ground once again.
And he finally had time to reply to Shin. "We can always leave it to the powerful guilds near this area?"
Shin cut the quick slitted the throat of the wolf on his front and rebutted. "Did you see any guilds that are near us? None, right? We are at one of the corners of the City walls so there is no powerhouse guild that will bother to protect this place; and just move towards a spot where more monsters are surging so that they harvest more points. Same for the other teams and groups."
Shin paused for a moment to do a couple of footwork to dodge the wolves that were pouncing at him from different directions. After that, he resumed talking. "So, this place will just become a dumping place for players that are just like these guys."
Simba didn't let Shin to finish his words and quickly voiced out what the latter wanted to say. "And this place will be filled with corrupted monsters sooner or later. But those guys will surely notice it when it happens."
Shin clicked his tongue and rebutted once again and said. "Tsk! Can't you just do what you are supposed to do? Why do we need to leech some points on those places that those guys were guarding when we can get it here?"
"In this place, there are not many eyes that are going to spy on us since this is one of the secluded spots of the City. Here, we can get as many points as we can while also hiding in the eyes of those people."
Simba suddenly smirked when he heard that and said. "Do you honestly believe that those guys will not notice it? They are not some idi*ts to reach their place. At least, they know about that and send some scouts to look at this place."
"What the heck? Why are you being too much of a nitpicker? Can you just do the work and get as many points as you can? Just treat it as we are getting some free points," said by Shin.
"You are the one that complained first. Why is it my fault now?" was what Simba wanted to say. But he swallowed it back almost instantly when he heard Cloe's voice.
"Can you two just stop on bickering?! Just do your work and shut up your mouths! You guys are too noisy!"
The faces of the two suddenly twitched after hearing that and shut up. But they are still able to talk using eye signals; after all, they have already done it on quite a number of their special missions before.
But this time, their topic was different.
'What did you say to Cloe Sis, for her to be in a foul mood?' said Simba.
Shin seemed to shrug his shoulders and replied. 'I don't know. She has already been like that since we finished the quest in the Church. Maybe she is on her day.'
Boom!
Then a spell landed in the middle of the two, creating a small explosion. Then they heard Cloe's voice once again. "I dare you to send those eye signals again and talk behind my back. Let's see what will happen next."
Shin felt that those words were directed to him and sighed inwardly. 'I prefer the sweet Cloe than this amazon-like attitude.'
After that, Shin and Simba just focused on taking down the corrupted wolf monsters that were coming on their way.
The points that they could get from this place were quite a lot. They were almost monopolizing this spot after all.
As for the other players in the vicinity? They didn't have the guts to complain about the three taking most of the points. Forget about that they didn't have the ability to contend against them, they didn't even have the strength to get near the three since Shin, Simba, and Cloe were currently in the spot where most number of corrupted wolves were located.
What's more, wave after wave of wolves were continuously surging their way. Only someone that was out of his mind and another monster that was confident enough about his abilities, were the ones that were going to jump on that spot.

The life of a teenage hellworlder
We've all heard of the trope that Earth is a deadly planet by galactic standard; and has thus honed humanity into a ruthless species bent on surviving at all costs. As it turns out, that trope is true. Sapient species that evolve on safe planets develop to be peaceful and compassionate - and the ones that do on dangerous ones become violent and selfish out of need - usually wiping themselves out. But obviously, not every violent species drives itself to extinction - resulting in them being feared and ostracized - including humans. The life of a teenage hellworlder is a sci-fi slice of life story that revolves mainly around Thomas, a sixteen-year-old New Britannian attending a Xeno high school, who befriends a lonely apex predator named Javqua. Getting written by two amateur teen writers, things may sometimes be inconsistent or be confusing - feel free to comment and point out these problems. Gore, profanity, and traumatizing content tags are only for minor events in the story and do not happen often. Chapters are around 1k - 2k words - pretty short, but that's because we're all busy with our own lives and school. Trust us - we would gladly upload 5k word chapters if we could. We tend to upload new chapters every Saturday or Sunday. Please consider supporting us on Patreon!

The Tower Must Fall - Combat Gardener
If you're interested in a conceptual, ground-up rewrite leave a comment and tell me what you loved about it. I've got a pretty good idea of what everyone hated so there's no need for expounding on that. Gardener? A support class? This can't be! What was all my hard work for? Forget this world. Forget the System. Even if I'm a lowly support class, I'll take on the Tower and take them all down! Since the System appeared one hundred years ago, humanity has been divided into three: combat classes, intellectual classes, and support classes. Assigned at the moment of high school graduation, one's class determines their future. Rowan wanted the most out of life. A combat class, an intellectual class, either would be fine. When he is instead assigned a support class, Gardener, he notices the System is completely rigged against support classes. Refusing to give up on his dream of realizing his future by his own terms, Rowan challenges the Tower, the seat of the System and home of the Hero-King, in hopes of bringing the entire System to its knees. Season One complete. Permanent Hiatus, Pending Rewrite. Important notes: -LitRPG fantasy -Rowan is not perfect. He's got flaws, emotions, and personal issues to work through. If you want a perfect, overpowered MC who makes the right decision every time, this is NOT the work for you. -This story opens with a negative situation and an emotional growth arc for the main character. Please don't review until chapter 30 because the arc is not complete until that chapter. (Chapters are short, that's an average RR book's chapter 10) -No harem, no rape, no isekai, no romance -Questions? Please ask!

Industrial Strength Magic
Perry Z has a Magical Destiny.Born to a Magical Fantasy Princess and a nine-to-five Supervillain, Perry's never felt...adequate. He's completely magically dull, and without a scrap of superpowers. When The System boots, he's forced to follow in his father's footsteps, but he'd rather take after his mother.Maybe there's a way he can do both... This is Macronomicon's take on a lighthearted slice-of-life superhero story. It is one of mine, though. So...you should know what you're getting into =P The Worldbuilding is primarily inspired by Superminion, which was in turn inspired by Worm. The explicit content tags are so if I decide to dip a little dark later down the line, you can't say I didn't warn ya. Except the cussing. That's there from the beginning. I tried to tone it down but a little just slipped in there.
