Soul For A Girlfriend? Chapter 125

It was a Sunday morning, and I woke up late as usual. Well, waking up at 1 pm and calling it morning would be wrong. Despite that, I like to assume it's morning for me. Now instead of lunch, I'll have my breakfast.
As I walked into the kitchen, I noticed Lilith eating the crackers that I had kept hidden for my midnight snack cravings. She looked at me with an awkward smile and put the last cracker inside her mouth slowly. How did she even find out that I kept it there?
"You know, those were for me…" I walked up to the fridge and opened the door to take out a cold bottle of water. Cold water after waking up hits different.
"Were they?" She asked with a smug while gnoming on the crackers.
"Not anymore…" I rolled my eyes and drank the water.
"Aww, no need to be sad…" She chuckled while covering her mouth with her right hand.
"How did you even find them out?" I asked her, as I definitely kept them out of her reach.
She turned towards me with a cheeky smile and with slanted eyes she said, "I know you kept on the top shelves so that I couldn't reach it, didn't you?"
"Absolutely yes." I nodded
"Huh… I may be short, but I'm more fit than an average human." She pouted and stared at me with a frown on her face. She recently started wearing other clothes than the one she used to wear all the time back when she came here. And she also started tying her hair more often nowadays.
"Definitely, you eat all my snacks…" I said while taking out a cup of instant noodles from the shelves and walking towards the microwave.

"No, I still haven't… I know you have some…" She stared at me for a few seconds before saying that.
"Oi, oi, wait…" I pointed the fork towards her that was in my left hand. I definitely have to find a new place to hide those snacks.
"Don't be like that… snacks are meant to be eaten." She walked next to me and leaned against the wall with her arms crossed.
"You have a point there." I said, taking out the cup noodles out of the microwave and proceeded to mix the spices in it.
"I always do." She said with a proud face. I liked the fact that whenever I praise her a bit once in a while, she acts like this.
"No, it's just that you do right now." I said and
she instantly looked at me with tensed eyebrows.
'Shut up…"
I slurped through the noodles while looking at the pissed face of Lilith. Last Sunday, things were definitely not like this. I pissed her good last week. Talking about pissing people off, I remembered that I had to do something.
"Oh, can you grab me my mobile real quick?" I told Lilith, who looked at me with a questioning look.
"Umm… it's beside your pillow, right?" She wanted me to affirm which I did witu a slight nod.
"Yeah…"
"Wait…" She walked towards my room. Since the sports festival is this Thursday, this is the most appropriate time to work on my plan.
"Here!" She came walking and handed me the mobile. But since I was holding the cup noodles in my hand, I couldn't hold my mobile. Putting the noodles on the top of the kitchen counter, I took the phone and opened it.
"What are you doing?" She walked next to me and scooted in closer to peek over the phone.

"Well wanna see?" I lowered the mobile a bit to her eye level so that she could properly see what I was doing. Now I was quite lazy to explain to her, so I thought of just showing what I'm doing instead of talking about it for 2 hours later and explaining everything to her.
"Yeah… I'm a bit curious." She was curious and was staring into my mobile now. She pointed at the screen and asked, "What's that envelope thingy?"
I was creating an email ID so that I can create an anonymous social media platform to text the person in question. "It's a floating email."
"Email?" she asked in a confused voice.
"Like... an identity to access the internet with." I replied in the most simple way possible. From her reactions, I assumed that people in hell don't have internet or email or stuff. Well,l a place of beings that can read each other's mind at will. I don't think that they would need these modes of communication.
"Seems like…" She was about to say something, but paused mid-sentence and looked at me with a funny look.
"Kittydestroyer69?" She narrowed her eyes and I could tell that she was trying to control her laughter.
"Don't judge my username… I couldn't think of anything better!" I sighed and continued doing what I was doing and chose a cute picture of a cat I had in my gallery.
"I… okay… seems legit." She nodded hesitantly, asking no further questions.
"What are you basically doing?" A frown formed on her face and she asked as my action seemed alien to her.
"I'm going to send a text to a fellow student from a floating ID." I replied and chuckled.
"Ok...and?" She tilted her head in anticipation for me to continue, but it seems like I've to be more direct with her.
"And I'm going to blackmail someone." I said with a grin on my face that seemed to catch her off guard as she widened her eyes and gasped.
"What the… that escalated quickly!" She commented and waited for a few moments, looking at the screen before continuing, "May I ask why?"
"It's a long story."
"I'm all ears." She looked at me excitedly with sparkles of curiosity in her eyes. I wonder why she doesn't use her memory reading skills at times like this.
"Keep your ears to yourselves." I replied vaguely.
"Huh? You're so boring!" She complained and since I was done with setting up the ID properly, I found the person's social media handle and texted them privately.
"Uyeno-san, how are you?" Her account had a profile picture of herself with Nishimiya in it and it seemed like they were hugging or something. Her bio was like the stereotypical dumb popular girl that made me crack up a bit.
"She didn't reply." Lilith pointed out as the text showed as read, but she didn't respond to a polite greeting like that. Maybe I've to be a little rough now.
"She will." I said, as I went over to the gallery to choose the picture I had of her beating Kizhashi like a pizza dough.

The Solstice Wars
In the grey-cloaked cityscape of modern London, student William Whiteswift has two secrets: the Fae walk among humanity, and they are just as vulnerable as us. His childhood was filled with them; they spawned nightmares and episodes, dreams and obsessions. The nightmares remain, of course, but the fae are his normal. Now, he heals them, for William is gifted. When he saves a faerie -- a humanoid fae -- from an injury he can’t explain, William is forced to let her stay. Finally, he may have taken on more than he can handle; Ainsel could uproot his life in seconds. Instead, she cracks a Pandora’s box of mysteries: someone just flipped her home on its head. And because of that, she did something unspeakable. And somehow, she doesn’t want to hurt him. The longer she stays, though, the crueler his nightmares grow. Worse, governments hide secrets, too: they know of faeries. To them, all fae are monsters fueled by solstices and equinoxes. As the autumn equinox approaches, the culling agency COURT hurries to track Ainsel down. With teams across the United Kingdom and Ireland -- iron-strong despite the region’s history -- they are nearing success. A world away, their country wounded, the faerie leaders hunger for justice. In the looming shadows of war and of Ainsel’s mistake, can a human and a faerie protect each other against their own kind? Could their plight mend rifts between bitter nations and bitterer people? Or will it, like past attempts at peace, shatter? Quick note! I hope you all enjoy the Irish (Irish Gaelic) words here and there! All are defined or explained within the text. This is my chance to show off speaking it at least somewhat decently. Still learning. ;D -K
