Soul For A Girlfriend? Chapter 110

It was a Sunday morning, and I was rolling around on my bed because I was feeling too lazy to get up and do anything. I was so exhausted last night that I ordered food from outside and ate that for dinner. Though it was really delicious and totally worth it.
Lilith also enjoyed munching down on the fried chickens. I think that might be her favourite food in our world because ever since she arrived; she has taken quite some liking to that.
I was feeling really stirred up inside, but I don't know why. Every thought was a mess inside my head, moving around from place to another with no certain destination.
My earphones were plugged in and I was listening to songs, but my mind was busy thinking about something else. It was busy devising a plan to break Tsubakihara out of her shell.
But apparently I was getting nowhere. What a drag! I turned towards the wall and closed my eyes for a bit.
I woke up in a jolt due to a sudden flick that Lilith gave to my head with her fingers. Turning around, I looked at her eyes staring me down. She was leaning over me wearing a loose white oversized t-shirt that she bought. I could clearly see her naked chest in front of my eye.
I sat upright and looked at her, as her lips curved into a smile, "You saw it, didn't you?"
"See what?" I asked her, a bit embarrassed and not looking towards her.
"You know what I mean." She sat on the bed beside me and rested her chin on her left palm.
"I did… but it's not my fault." After a bit contemplating and realising that she would just read my mind eventually, I spilled.

"I didn't say it was your fault." She shrugged with a slight chuckle.
Looking at her smiling, I said in a tone bold as ever, "Oh… then can you show me again?"
"Eh…?!" She shifted her eyes towards me and cheeks were as red as her eyes as I could tell that she didn't expect this.
"Let me get a clearer view this time." I said with a cocky smile on my face.
"You… are quite the pervert." She said hesitantly while looking at me with a side glance.
"I'm a teenager. What do you expect?" I shrugged and stretched my arms, as they were sore from being in bed for so long.
"Well… touché." She smiled back.
There was silence again between us as I started surfing through my mobile and she was laid down next to me quietly.
Both of us have grown a bit closer, despite the fact that we still feel uncomfortable around each other. Maybe it's because she is exactly the opposite of me and on top of that, she isn't even a human.
I can't wrap my head around the fact that I got stuck with a devil and her contract. I wonder how my life would be if I didn't get into this crap.
I slightly shifted my eyes towards her and noticed her staring at the ceiling. But what I found intriguing was the look in her eyes. They were the same as me. As if she was also lost about something.
Her white hair was resting on her chest as it rose periodically with her breathing. I have to admit that neither of us knows about each other that much despite living under the same roof. The only thing I know about her is that she is some big shot from hell.

Neither do I know about her, nor about the contract.
"Saishi...?" She called out my name softly, and I shifted my gaze on her face, which had an uneasy expression.
"Huh?"
"Stop staring at my boobs." She said, embarrassed and realising my eye's position. It seemed like I was staring there, but I was not.
"I… wasn't staring at them particularly."
"Is that so?" She turned her head away from me with a sigh. Something was indeed on her mind, but what could it be? I was getting a gut feeling that it was something related to the contract but it might be something else too, such as her own personal affairs.
"You seem kind of lost in thought… Are you good?" I asked.
"Yeah… Why do you ask?" She turned towards me instantly and replied with a cheerful tone.
"I don't know… just felt like something was off." Even though the smile on her face was a mask, it seemed quite real.
"What… Ahh… don't worry about it." She sat up and gently shook her palm to deny my claim.
"I have noticed you zoning out every now and then." I decided to pry a bit and see where things go from there. If I could get the right opportunity, I can at least get some useful intel.
"Well, that's because my mind is pretty active, you know… so I keep getting lost in thoughts." She said while flicking her index and middle finger in the air to visualise her thoughts having legs to travel from one corner to another in her mind.
"Really?" I said with an unsure tone and catching on to my tone, she assured me with a bright smile.
"Yeah"
"Hmm… that's a lame excuse, but since you don't want to talk about it… I won't pry." I knew that she was lying. She opened her mouth to say something but closed it as it seemed like the words were stuck in her throat and she was struggling to get those out of her mouth.
After a period of awkward silence with both of us stealing glances at each other, she said with a hesitant voice, "It's not like I don't want to talk about it…"
"I just find it difficult to…" She continued but couldn't properly put her thoughts into words.
"Huh!?" I looked at her with a questioning frown in my face. She was acting a lot different than usual. It was like she indeed wanted to tell me about it but there was something that waa hindering her from doing that.
"I…" She was about to say something but I interrupted her because she was annoying me at this point.
"Just shut up… will you?!" I found myself bursting out and my voice being louder than usual. It startled her for a moment and she looked at me with a plain expression on her face.

Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal
