Soul For A Girlfriend? Chapter 40

I entered the class and Yasurouka looked at me in an instance. Looks like she was waiting for my arrival. I walked up to her since I knew that she had many things to ask me.
"So… how did it go?" She asked with a curious expression.
"Umm, as usual…"
"I don't know your usual genius!"
"What usual?" Kizhashi suddenly joined in on her conversation. She looked at her and then looked at me with an indifferent expression.
"Umm…"
"His usual homework schedule." Yasurouka said and chuckled awkwardly. As she said that, I looked at her with disappointment. I expected better from her.
"H...Homework schedule?" Kizhashi narrowed her eyes on me. I liked the fact that she tried to cover for me but she said the most lame thing possible.
"Yeah, you know how he manages his time and stuff."
"And stuff? What do you mean?"
Oh god shut up. You're making sound wrong. I was getting second hand embarrassment from this even though this was about me.
"Uh…" Yasurouka thought for a few moments.
"Reina-chan… ummm... you better stop talking with him, his weirdness is affecting you too." She stared at her a few moments and then looked at me for a split second before looking away.
"No, it's not like that…"
"Well, whatever." She rolled her eyes. Kizhashi was the type of girl I would never want to be around even if someone pointed a gun at me.
"Good try." I said in a sarcastic tone.
"Hey!?" Yasurouka definitely knew that she messed up.
"Anyways, I'll text you later about this." Since I would rather not talk about it in front of so many people here.
"Ok, I will look forward to it." She nodded and adjusted her spectacles.

"You're quite interested in someone else's love life."
"Well, if you say it like that… it will sound bad." She smiled awkwardly.
I already wasted some time due to Chiaki's confession and there wasn't much time left for lunchtime. I was about to walk over to my desk but the smell of fresh bento box hit my nose. I looked around and noticed a bento box in front of Kizhashi which I assumed to be her.
Gaisen walked past me towards the class doorway but Kizhashi called him.
"Gai-kun" She called his name gently in a soft tone. Gaisen turned and glanced at her.
"What?" He asked her.
"Umm… come here." She called him closer to her desk and he walked up to her.
Kizhashi picked up a piece from her bento with her chopsticks and advanced it towards his mouth. "Say Ahhh"
This was the most scene cliché that I have witnessed so far. Me and Yasurouka were watching this unfolding before our eyes like people watch advertisements rolling in between free videos.
Gaisen blushed a bit, probably embarrassed from this display of affection in front of so many people. Even though I'm sure no one was watching them except me and Yasurouka, this kind of gesture often makes the person on the receiving end self aware about themselves.
"Come on, don't keep staring at me like that idiot, take this bite." She pouted.
"Ah, yeah my bad." He said.
Gaisen looked around a bit and then leaned in closer to her so that the chopsticks could reach his mouth. He opened his mouth and took the bite quickly. I noticed Yasurouka looking at them with an indifferent expression that I haven't seen on her face yet.
She let out a deep breath and chuckled, "Aww, how cute are they?"

I assumed that it was directed at me so I replied, "I don't know, but it appears to be quite a lot."
"I know right." She smiled.
Gaisen turned his head towards me but he didn't seem to notice me the first time. He again looked at me and stopped chewing for a brief moment as we stared at each other. I know he was feeling awkward.
"I didn't see anything." I nodded my head and gave him a thumbs up.
"Seems legit." He gave an awkward smile and hurried outside the class.
I got back to my desk because I had to eat my lunch. I can't afford to go on a PE period with an empty stomach.
Albeit, I'll not do anything in PE, being empty stomach isn't an idea that I would support. Many students were looking forward to this period because not all of us are in the school athletics team or something like that. So normal PE periods were a great opportunity for students to show off their capabilities in sports.
It was the PE period finally, and the sudden spike in energy among the students could easily be felt in the classroom's atmosphere. I placed back my notebook in my bag and looked up to see that everyone was leaving the class. I took the key to my locker and left the class with some other boys, walking behind them.
I entered the locker room and walked up to my locker. The number 26 was written on it. I inserted the key in the keyhole and unlocked the door.
For our PE period, we had different PE uniforms. It was the same for boys and girls except the difference in colour. The white full sleeved t-shirt with blue lining near the sleeve ends and around the neck and the blue track pants were for boys. And for girls, everything was similar but instead of blue they had red colour. For winters we had jackets of respective colours.
After wearing the PE uniform after so many days, it feels weird. I pulled my sleeves till my mid forearm because they were a bit large. These school uniforms are always of the wrong sizes. I locked my locker after putting everything back in it.
Walking out the locker room, I met with Gaisen but he was already surrounded by a lot of people so I avoided interacting with him. I'm not good at interacting in a group and even if I do, I'm going to get ignored so I would rather ignore them myself.
I put my hands in my pockets and headed for the playground. Yukimura wasn't with us because his club needed him. Sometimes I feel like his club makes him do all the work.
Anyways, PE period is more of a chill period for me because I never compete in anything as I'm average in everything. There are probably far more capable people present in our class. I just enjoy the freedom of this period.

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled.
