Soul For A Girlfriend? Chapter 34

I was calculating my progress with Yasurouka while sipping my choco milk. Choco milk always helped me with my thought process. If there's one thing that I love with all my heart, it's Choco milk. I'm glad people discovered that chocolate when mixed with milk can give such a delightful beverage.
Anyways, I exchanged contacts with her because of our conversation in the library yesterday. Though I didn't receive any texts from her, I can only hope that she would text me. Because if I text her, then I would just appear to be desperate.
Talking with introverted people is really tough, though I'm one too. I couldn't stick with my strategy of approaching the target through her friends because I've this feeling that Kizhashi doesn't like me much so that wouldn't work. So in this case I've to approach Yasurouka directly.
I sipped the last few drops in the can and threw it in the dustbin beside me.
"Oi, Sakamaki-kun" I heard Yukimura calling me. I looked at him, and he was staring at me with this indifferent expression.
"Is something wrong with my shirt?" I asked as I followed his eyes and they were locked on my white shirt.
"No, it's just… did you get a girlfriend or something? Are you two living together?"
I knew he was dumb, but he might be crazy, too. I guess it's time to drop into a mental asylum.
"Are you dumb?" I directed this at him, even though it sounded like a question.
"Nah… wait… if that's a question then I would answer it as No." He laughed. I stared at him in confusion.
"Is something stuck to the back of my shirt?" I asked him.
"No, it's just that your shirt is ironed properly, and it looks really clean too." He patted my shoulder with a chuckle.

This resulted from Lilith doing all the laundry now. Well, teaching her how to operate the washing machine was indeed an excellent decision.
We headed back to the class together, since he didn't have his club activities. I entered the class and noticed Yasurouka was sitting alone in her chair and reading a book.
Yukimura noticed my gaze and said, "Ah, I forgot to tell you."
I looked at him and raised my eyebrows. He continued, "Seifuku wanted to hangout with you and me. He will be free of his club activities today."
"Ok, sounds good." I nodded.
"Ok, then we will discuss the details later, but we're going this weekend, okay?"
"Yeah, I don't have any problem." I said.
"Huh!? I know you always cancel the plan at the last moment. If you do it this time, be prepared to get an arrow up in your butt." He glared at me. I gave him an awkward smile.
I was never a people's person. I would have avoided this plan, but my circumstances are different right now.
I sat on my desk and noticed that Seifuku entered the class and of course Kizhashi was with him. So that explains why Yasurouka was sitting alone. She must have felt awkward to always third wheel them.
I glanced at Yasurouka and she stared at them for a slight instance and again buried her head inside the book. Well, after talking to her that day, I guess her reaction was expected.
As Seifuku was popular among boys too, they snatched him from Kizhashi and started their own conversation with him. I can't even imagine being this wanted by so many people.
I again turned my gaze towards Yasurouka, and Kizhashi were smiling while talking to her. I paid little attention to that. Whatever Yasurouka's problem was, she was good at hiding it.

The remaining periods passed by pretty quickly, and school was already over.
I picked my bag and stretched my arms. Some periods feel like an eternity to finish. The monotonous voice of the teachers can put me to sleep. Though I don't pay attention to class so that's a whole distinct thing.
"Hey, let's go." Yukimura said. We're walking back together since he was free of club chores. I gave him a nod and followed him out of the class.
On our way to the stairs, we passed class 2-1 and Yukimura glanced inside the class from his peripheral vision. Looks like he was searching for someone. While glancing, he didn't notice that he was heading towards a girl standing in front of him.
"Oi" I gave a light nudge with my elbow. He turned towards me and noticed that he was going to collide with that girl in front of him. His sudden stop startled her.
"Watch where… Ah it's you." Her brown eyes stared at him.
"My bad, Kosaki-san." He smiled, but avoided looking at her. This was the girl he had a crush on. Hiromi Kosaki from class 2-1.
"Oh, it's okay. Just keep your eyes on the track." Her voice had this uncertain tone about it. I couldn't tell if this offended her or not. Both of them kept staring at each other for a moment.
"Do you have something you wanted to say?" She raised her eyebrow in a questioning manner.
"Ah, well, it's nothing. See you later!" Yukimura just laughed and hurried out of there, dragging me along with him.
I can't believe this is the same guy who is crazy in front of other people but becomes so timid in front of her. That's why I said that love makes you weird. Though I'm impressed by how well he handled that conversation without embarrassing himself.
We were finally out of the building and were heading towards the gate. Noticing how quiet he was, I gave him a side glance.
I was about to say something but gulped it down as he said, "Don't even think about it."
We walked out of the gate and noticed that Seifuku was standing there talking with someone on mobile and Kizhashi and Yasurouka were talking among themselves. He noticed us and gestured for us to wait. We gave him a nod.
Yasurouka looked at me, and our eyes met. She acknowledged my presence as usual, saying nothing. She never talks with me when she is with them, but that day in the library, she was quite comfortable talking with me. She was a weird one, though I shouldn't call her weird since I'm probably weirder than her.
"Oi Saishi, Tsumen." He greeted us as he put the mobile back in his bag.
"Yo," I greeted him with a wave.
"Ah, since we are here, let's walk back together." He proposed.
"Huh!?" Kizhashi objected. Seems like she didn't like the idea of so many people interfering with their 'alone time. I could tell by her body language that she didn't welcome this idea. Well, it was understandable.
"Heee, you don't want us between Seifuku and you?" Yukimura was blunt as always.
"N...No, I didn't say that." She was embarrassed and shook her palm in denial.
"It's okay Koi-san, we understand." Yasurouka chuckled.
"Hmph, let's go." Kizhashi pouted and started walking.
"Alright." Seifuku smiled and walked beside her.
I sighed and followed them silently, since I had little influence on the group compared to them. This is my first time walking home with them and this might help me know Yasurouka a bit better.

I'm Always Talking to Myself
My name is Zach. I’m a typical bland featureless protagonist type. The kind of guy who has purposefully few defining characteristics so that people can project whatever they want on me. Like Luke from Star Wars or what’s her name from Twilight. Most main characters are like me. Kind of flavorless blank slates because we all secretly doubt that we’re Harrison Ford, but pretty much anyone could be Mitt Romney. Yep. Yes indeed, I do spend basically my entire life running an internal dialog to no one. Usually I’m imagining that there are people listening. Like maybe philosophers from Ancient Greece, or researchers from another planet who act suspiciously like the characters from that Instagram comic with the aliens. Stupid Instagram comedians stealing my internal monologue and turning into a wildly successful enterprise which I would imagine has a vibrant merch dropshipping arm and hundreds of thousands of daily dopamine hits for loyal followers. I basically spend all of my time explaining random things to imaginary people (and aliens, and animals, and household items which have inexplicably gained sentience and frankly have some concerns about this whole existence thing). Honestly, it’s both highly entertaining to me, in that it makes me think about why we humans do all of the bizarre things that we do, but also horrifically exhausting and kind of makes you feel like you’re either, worst cast, losing your grip on reality, or best case, becoming Abed from Community. Anyway, I’m sure that I have some distinguishing characteristics, but, in the interest of hypnotic suggestion I’m choosing to omit them until I’m pretty sure that you have subconsciously come to identify with me, or until I feel like it. (By the way, in case I forgot to mention it, a higher power called Aww Thor or something told me to say that this is a slice-of-life comedy adventure and that it's set in a fantasy world with isekai and LitRPG elements.)
