Soul For A Girlfriend? Chapter 7

We reached the cafeteria and searched for a nice place to sit. We finally found one head over there. They all sat down. I slid out a chair to sit on it but I remembered that I have to buy food so I slid it back in.

'What happened?" Kana raised her eyebrows.

"I'm going to buy my lunch." I turned around and started walking towards the counter.

"Well, don't worry, you can share with me." Yukimura offered.

"You can eat some of mine too." Kana smiled and opened her bento box.

I accepted their offer and sat down next to Tomose. Yukimura was sitting on my left side and he unwrapped his bento box. The aroma of fresh soup dumplings hit my nose.

I glanced at Tomose, unwrapping the cover from her bento box. She brought fried chickens. I regretted forgetting to bring my lunch since I was about to bring my own fried chicken.

Why are we here? Just to suffer?

"Here you can have some of my lunch." Kana slid her lunch towards me, gesturing me to pick something with her eyes.

I gave an awkward smile and picked the small piece from her omelette and started eating it.

"Hey, have some of mine too." Yoshiwa gave me half of her cutlets. I held it with my chopsticks as I was finishing Kana's omelette.

This cutlet smelled nice. I took a small bite. This was a fish cutlet. But it was great, the right amount of crunch and fish inside was properly cooked too.

"This is delicious?" I said and gave some of it to Yukimura too. He complimented her, too.

"Hey, can I have some of your fried chicken?" I asked Tomose politely.

"Sure." She said with a smile.

I advanced my chopsticks and started hovering it over her bento box to choose the right piece of chicken. I picked one and put it in my mouth.

"Wow, thi- did you make this?" I asked.

"Umm yes, I always make my lunch." She said while the tip of her chopsticks touched her lips.

"This is delicious. Can I have another one?"

I know that was shameless of me. But it's fried chicken. Even my conscience allowed it.

"Yeah feel free." She slid her lunch towards me.

I picked another piece of chicken and was about to eat it, but the other girls were staring at me.

"What?"

"Nothing, it's just you seem way too polite while tasting her food." Kana said with a smug face.

"No, no, it's not like that. I liked everyone's lunch. Thanks for sharing it with me." I flicked my palm in a back-and-forth motion to put emphasis on my statement.

"Well, if you say so." Sakura gave me a side glance.

"You guys don't know, but he is really smooth with girls." Yukimura laughed.

"Huh? So, like this loner has a girlfriend or something?" Yoshiwa asked.

"Wait, does he even talk with girls?"- Yoshiwa chuckled.

"I'm an introvert, but I maintain the minimum courtesy of talking to people." I sighed.

They all laughed.

"So you have a girlfriend?" Kana asked me out of curiosity.

"Why does it matter?" I looked at her.

"No, he doesn't. He rejects pretty much any girl who confesses to him." Yukimura, face palmed himself. Yukimura was disappointed in me, I could tell.

"Really?" Kana was shocked. "Do girls even approach him?" She added.

Ok, that was really rude of her to say. I was a loner but that doesn't mean that girls can't talk to me.

She stared at me for a few moments. She stood up and bent forward to reach my face. Damn, she is way too close. I could see her tie hanging in front of my face. My eyes wandered over to her boobs which I didn't mean to do so I looked away in an instant.

I felt her hands touch the side of my face

I looked at her as she removed my spectacles and looked me right in the eyes. My heart was beating faster. I have never been this close to any girl before.

"I mean, he is good looking. A little." She laughed and placed my spectacles in front of me.

"Yeah, without his glasses." Yoshiwa laughed.

"We should call him 'Denchi' from now on," Sakura said, and they all shared a laugh.

( A/N: Denchi is the Japanese for "battery" which Sakura said to tease Sakamaki because he wears glasses. )

"Well, Yukimura, give me your lunch." I said.

"You could have a small bite from this." He said while advancing me a piece of chicken cutlet.

"Sure" I nodded and took the entire piece in my mouth.

"I said a small bite!!!" He gasped.

"That's a small bite for me." I smiled.

"No, my cutlet." He was sad.

The girls offered him their lunch, but he was mourning the loss of this chicken cutlet. I was laughing seeing him sad. Now, I'm not a sadist. Sometimes I doubt my evil can overpower Lilith's.

We were heading back to our class while laughing about the events that happened during lunch. Yukimura had his archery club activities, so he headed there.

"Fried chicken is your favourite?" Tomose asked me.

"Yeah." I replied honestly. She gave a small smile.

"Then I will bring some for you tomorrow too." She said in a low voice and smiled.

"But tomorrow is a holiday. It's Saturday."

"Ok, then Monday."

"Seems like a deal."

"What did you say Tomose-chan?" Kana heard her.

"Nothing much."

"You just said you'll cook him something." She laughed.

"Sakamaki-kun, don't try her food. She can't cook." Yoshiwa jokingly said.

"Yeah, remember when she baked a cake for your birthday party and it was all burnt and tasted like shit?" Sakura told Kana and laughed.

"Well, her fried chicken didn't really taste bad." I shrugged.

"Yeah, she has learnt how to cook from me." Kana said.

"Yeah, thanks to you I can cook now." Tomose gave an awkward smile while straightening her tie.

Tomose had a really interesting group of friends. I didn't know girls can joke around like this with each other.

We headed back to our class and the rest of the day went by normally.

I thought Tomose's group didn't like me, but it seems like they have accepted me pretty quickly. Or apparently it seems like that for the time being. They even shared their bento with me.

The school ended. I didn't walk back home with Yukimura or Tomose's group since Yukimura was busy with after school club activities and Tomose's group had other plans. It was the weekend, so they were going to Karaoke with their friends from other classes.

I was trying to be friends with them, but going to such an event is not my cup of tea. I'll feel out of place there.

I scored some points today for sure. I just need to maintain this steady pace and become their friends. Though they actually invited me to their karaoke, I declined.

Anyways, it's the weekend. Time for me to waste all of my day playing games and watching anime.

Yayyy.
