I Am A Prodigy Chapter 585

Time was approaching.
It was somewhat chaotic behind the scenes of the Spring Festival Gala.
"What's with the dilly-dally? Go get ready!"
"Where's the costume? Hurry up! "
"Props! Check all the props!"
"Don't forget your lines. Tune into your performing mindsets."
"Everyone, hurry up! Change into your clothes and get your make-up done. The show has already begun!"
"Agh, slow down, and don't make mistakes."
"Where are the makeup artists?"
"Let there be no mistakes. Otherwise, you'll only have yourself to blame for missing the opportunity to get on this stage!"
"This is terrible. Both Chen Xiaoyan and Guo Dongshan's programs were axed."
"Are you digging your own grave? Be quiet and don't bring it up."
More chaos ensued everywhere. There were sounds from various musical instruments, singing voices, lines being rehearsed, and people practicing their dances.
Since there were too many people there, it was impossible to accommodate so many practicing individuals all at once. Many had to find a corner to practice on their own and seized all the time they had to prepare. Almost everyone was nervous and excited!
It was the Spring Festival Gala!
As the most glorious program in the country, people all over the country were watching. Even the performer's relatives and friends were watching!
More than 80% of people participated in the Spring Festival Gala for the first time, so it was inevitable that they felt nervous.
Besides, even if it was not their first attendance at the Spring Festival Gala, it was inevitably nerve-racking for them because the pressure was too great.
There was a fierce sense of competitiveness at the Spring Festival Gala. The slightest of mistakes would not only deprive them of any future chance but would even ruin their lives!
Hall...
Corridor...
Lounge area ...
Nervous and anxious figures were seen everywhere.
An ordinary person would already feel dizzy if they were there because that person would be surrounded by celebrities. Each one was already famous, but all of them behaved anxiously, just like an ordinary person facing an interview.

In such an environment, Ye Lingchen was inconspicuous and did not attract anyone's attention.
In comparison, Zhao Liangying had the luxury of relaxing for a bit. Her show was placed last and it would be a group chorus. Forgetting the lyrics was no big deal, as long she just moved her lips and fake it.
"Hey, what are you looking for?" Seeing Ye Lingchen's absent-minded appearance, Zhao Liangying could not help asking, "By the way, I still don't know why you wanted to come in?"
"Where is Hyun-Min Kim?" Ye Lingchen asked.
"Hyun-Min Kim? " Zhao Liangying did not realize who it was that Ye Lingchen spoke of at first, but after giving it a lot of thought, she finally asked, "You mean that superstar from the Stick Nation?"
"Mm, that's right." Ye Lingchen nodded.
"He's the main performer tonight, so it's only natural that he'll be taken care of. He has his own private room. I heard it was the third room," Zhao Liangying said.
"That fella received such good treatment?" Ye Lingchen frowned.
"At the end of the day, he's taking our country's money and brainwashing our nation's culture. He's the scourge of our country's next generation of 'international friends'!" Zhao Liangying spoke crisply.
Ye Lingchen never expected her to have such an interesting side and said amusedly, "You're repulsed by him too?"
"He's too arrogant." Zhao Liangying frowned.
"Come on, let's pay him a visit. "
Private room three.
Ye Lingchen and Zhao Liangying did not go in but glimpsed through the door. It was open, and someone was talking inside.
"Is that Director Feng?" Zhao Liangying asked in surprise.
Feng Xiaofeng?
Ye Lingchen did not have a good impression of that director. He was the stereotypical 'foreigner-worshipper'. The key issue was that he went back on his word. Ye Lingchen did not mind not being invited, but the director just had to do something absurd.
"We're going to make some changes to the Spring Festival Gala program." Feng Xiaofeng and Hyun-Min Kim were discussing something.
"Blablablabla…" A bunch of Stick Nation mumbo-jumbo came out of Hyun-Min Kim's mouth. His face was full of disdain and arrogance.

"Blablabla, blabla!"
Feng Xiaofeng wanted to say something, but Hyun-Min Kim interrupted arrogantly before turning around and making a sending-off gesture.
"What are they talking about?" Zhao Liangying looked dumbfounded.
"Director Feng wanted Hyun-Min Kim to shorten his performance time but got scolded by him," Ye Lingchen answered curtly.
"The Stick Nation's people are just too arrogant. This is our country. What does he take our nation for?" Zhao Liangying was slightly angry, but then reveled in the director's misfortune and said, "Serves the director right. Who told him to invite Hyun-Min Kim? Tried so hard to win the guy's favor but was given the cold shoulder.
"Director Feng must have decided to adjust the duration because he couldn't handle all that criticism from the internet. Hahaha, let's see how he ends up," Zhao Liangying was eager to see the world spiral into chaos.
"This is the kind of person who thinks more highly of himself if you suck up to him. It's so embarrassing." Ye Lingchen shook his head, then quickly brought Zhao Liangying to hide and avoid Feng Xiaofeng.
"What are you going to do with Hyun-Min Kim?" Zhao Liangying continued curiously.
"You'll know in a bit. There's darkness looming over this guy's third-eye point1. He's about to face some bad luck," Ye Lingchen chuckled and said.
"Really? You know how to tell a person's fortune by looking at their facial features?" Zhao Liangying looked at Ye Lingchen suspiciously but was nevertheless excited to watch something happen.
"Wait here," Ye Lingchen told her. He wandered around for a while, took some unrequired props, then placed them against the wall of room three. Finally, he placed a red ribbon on it and stuck it on room three's number plate.
"Why are you being so shifty?" Zhao Liangying scratched her head.
At that moment, there was a sound of footsteps beside him. Ye Lingchen turned around to look and was rather shocked to see who it was.
The other party was stunned too. "It's you?"
"Hi, it's been a long time." Ye Lingchen was a little surprised because he did not expect to run into Chen Xiaoyan at that juncture.
"Hi." Chen Xiaoyan saw Ye Lingchen and her face became even more frustrated. She sighed and lamented, "Thank you for helping me apologize to Singer Y. I wasted the opportunity he gave me."
After finishing her words, she continued making her way out.
"Where are you going? " Ye Lingchen could not help asking.
"I'm not going to take the stage here anymore, so there's no reason for me to stay here," Chen Xiaoyan answered bluntly. She had been fighting for it all that time, but because of her lack of contacts and her paltry reputation, she was not fated to take the stage that night.
"You don't need to rush. Why not watch a good show before leaving?" Ye Lingchen smiled.
"Good show? "
"This guy said that Hyun-Min Kim's third-eye point is black, that he offended the devil and bad luck will come to him soon." Zhao Liangying spoke in a teasing manner and was very skeptical about Ye Lingchen's claims.
Chen Xiaoyan stood still and did not speak. Her eyes were filled with doubt as well.
"You'll know in a few minutes," Ye Lingchen assured solemnly.
When he first saw Hyun-Min Kim, he discovered that the Korean's aura was not very good—it was an omen that things would soon go wrong. Coupled with that person's arrogance and irritability, and the fact that he was a sissy, contributed easily to an unlucky circumstance.
Moments ago, he used his formation method to make a simple arrangement, one that changed the aura of the entire private room. It induced a state of conflict with Hyun-Min Kim's aura, which would cause his unluckiness to increase exponentially when the time came. Muahahaha...

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!
