Plop!

Ye Lingchen's hand loosened and the black panther fell straight to the ground. Its original might had disappeared, and its entire body became limp. When it collapsed onto the ground, its roar was all but gone.

Time seemed to have stopped at that exact moment. It was as though there was only one figure in everyone's eyes and they were deeply moved by it.

Aside from the people, the other three beasts have also seemed to perceive the danger. Their sprinting speeds slowed, and they roared anxiously.

"Don't panic everyone! Leave everything...to me!"

Ye Lingchen's voice was faint and he gently patted the scared child on the head before walking toward the three beasts.

He was walking at a moderate pace, and as everyone was watching the next step, he exuded an indescribable aura that illuminated the atmosphere there with stateliness.

"Roar!"

As Ye Lingchen moved forward, the breeze blew along the cool air and caused the three beasts to slowly retreat.

Ye Lingchen's voice rang out leisurely and he hooked his fingers at the three beasts. "You guys... Don't run away."

"Roar!"

As if feeling some of Ye Lingchen's provocations, the three beasts roared at once. Their bodies rose into the air and they ran at full speed toward Ye Lingchen.

"Superman Y, be careful!"

The scene immediately made everyone feel on edge. Many people could not help but bite their lips. Their eyes were filled with worry and some even raised their hands to cover their mouths for fear of accidentally screaming.

Any one of those three beasts were extremely terrifying existences in itself. Whether it was the shiny teeth, sharp and terrifying claws, or the speed and power, humans could not withstand any of it at all.

At that moment however, the three beasts showed an inclination to surround Ye Lingchen and rush toward him from three positions all at once!

How could someone with only two hands and two legs fend them off?

They were approaching and getting closer!

Three feet!

Two feet!

One foot!

The beasts' claws would land on Superman Y at any moment.

Everyone held their hands at that exact moment and even the child's cries had stopped. It felt as though everyone's heartbeat could be heard in the night.

The first to arrive was the wolf.

With a fierce light glowing in its eyes, it rushed over with the standard actions of a predator!

"Hehe, I'm not your prey!"

Ye Lingchen remained grounded on the spot but raised his hand slowly.

It was a very ordinary action, as though he was going to shake hands with a long-time friend whom he had not seen in years instead of facing a wolf.

The next moment.

When the hand touched the wolf, it appeared to grab hold of its fate by the throat. The wolf stopped in an instant, with no ability to resist.

At the same time however, the wild boar sprinted over with its extremely sharp fangs. Stomping four hooves on the ground, a rumbling sound was produced along with billows of smoke and dust. It had tremendous momentum and its speed paired well with those fangs, making it capable of crushing even a tree!

At that moment, Ye Lingchen's back was facing the wild boar!

In an instant, he swung his hand back abruptly and flung the wolf he was holding toward his back!

Boom!

The powerful force had a mountain-like strongness and struck the wild boar heavily. It became a dead pig without even managing a whimper.

With the resounding clash, both ferocious beasts were dealt with almost at the same time.

Thump, thump, thump!

The remaining bear whose eyes were initially filled with a fierce glow was suddenly replaced by fear. Its limbs suddenly stiffened as it was charging and it halted its movements sharply.

Despite that, the strong inertia still sent it flying toward Ye Lingchen.

It turned around intending to go back from where it came from, but Ye Lingchen's grasped its short tail firmly and stopped it from moving forward.

The scene was a very amusing one. The huge brown bear suddenly turned into a teddy bear in Ye Lingchen's hands as it let out a helpless roar.

"You came at just the right time." Ye Lingchen smiled slightly and placed the corpses of the wolf, the black panther, and the wild boar directly on the brown bear. Then, he patted the brown bear's bottom. "Let's go."

The brown bear uttered a low growl but did not dare to act up. It lowered its head and followed Ye Lingchen back miserably.

The carcasses of those beasts were quite special, so it was only logical not to leave it amongst common folk.

"Superman Y!"

Everyone came back to their senses right then and could not help but exclaim as they watched Ye Lingchen getting further away.

Some people wanted to rush over, but the presence of that brown bear made them feel slightly daunted.

"Thank you, Superman Y!"

A woman's voice sounded with the utmost sincerity. After she finished speaking, she bowed toward Ye Lingchen's rear figure.

She was the mother of the child that received the first attack.

"Thank you, Superman!"

Immediately after that, everyone at the venue bowed deeply toward Ye Lingchen at the same time. There was gratitude, admiration, and respect in their voices.

Ye Lingchen did not look back and merely waved his hand as he took slow steps into the dark depths with the brown bear...

When Ye Lingchen returned to the laboratory, the only people there were Lin Ao's group—who had just returned—and the two martial artists who were standing guard.

Lin Ao was more fortunate. There were only two beasts in their area of pursuit, both of which were killed remotely. At that moment, he was swearing and complaining about the crimes of those experiments with the warriors and was furious!

"Brother Ye! This group of bastards have crossed the line! They're worse than bastards!" Lin Ao continued cursing after seeing Ye Lingchen's return.

Those experiments itself were despicable enough and the most infuriating aspect was that they used living people or even children in those experiments. It was beyond cruel! Could they be regarded as humans, even?

"In this case, what will the Warrior's Department do?" Ye Lingchen could not resist inquiring.

"Get to the bottom of it, of course!" Lin Ao said resolutely. "Amaterasu Genetics isn't an isolated case. Anyone who does genetic research might be implicated in this. We'll search every nook and cranny! Researching and doing such perverted experiments is unacceptable! We must put an end to such outrageously atrocious research!"

After a pause, Lin Ao cursed secretly, "The thing is, Amaterasu Genetics is a Sun Nation company. We have no direct evidence that all of this is made by Amaterasu Genetics, so we can't even touch this group of bastards!"

Ye Lingchen nodded. The conclusion was unsurprising, as it was already a good thing that they were able to maintain the peace of their own country. After all, no one could protect the entire earth.

Soon after, Lin Ao stared at Ye Lingchen with glimmering eyes. An indescribable glow was emitting from it. "Brother Ye, I realized that you're practically a god. After the last incident, I've just only helped you apply for a promotion from Lower-Class Warrior to an Upper-Class Warrior for your outstanding services. The credentials are in preparation, but you've done another outstanding service, and it deserves even greater credit!"

"I just have better luck." Ye Lingchen touched his nose and smiled modestly.

"Luck, my foot! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm an NPC whose task is to calculate your military merits and get you promoted!"
