I Am A Prodigy Chapter 346

The group of six surrounded the bonfire and turned over their bamboo skewers from time to time, according to Ye Lingchen's instructions.
Some distance away, the earthen ball was quietly enveloped in another different fire.
The program crew could only look at them earnestly. In reality, eating only congee at night was not very nutritious, plus it did not fill their stomachs too. They got hungry after watching the participants grilling the fish.
Many of them even licked their lips involuntarily. They really wanted to eat some and they could not help it!
"Everyone, do your jobs properly. Don't get distracted."
Zhang Yong swallowed his saliva and could not resist remarking bitterly, "This is the wilderness. Do you think we're still in the city? What's so delicious about such simple food? The fishy smell is probably not cleaned off well! It's fully cooked alright, but it's definitely not going to be delicious!"
"The director makes sense! Here, it's better to eat congee rather than fish and meat!" Someone nodded in agreement.
"I think that's just about right. It's too difficult to cook a meal in this kind of place. How could it possibly be delicious when you can't even show your skills?"
"We've been traveling here and there for so many years. Are there any delicious foods that we've never eaten? Such simple food is unfit for us!"
Everyone began to nod.
Their self-comforting soothed their hearts tremendously and reduced their temptations to great effect.
Crackle!
The fire danced about and burned the fish, gradually producing sizzling noises.
Along with that sound came a green smoke that rose slowly and drifted toward the program crew.
At that point in time, everyone in the program crew was chatting away as a means to forcefully divert their attention.
"Look at the sea. It's just so big," Little Wang said.
Little Mei nodded. "Yeah, look at the moon, how beautiful."
"It's still this kind of environment that's most comfortable. The sea breeze is blowing so gently, and it's so cool." Little Chen remarked too, with a face full of enjoyment.

In the next moment however, the green smoke drifted slowly past their noses, causing their noses to twitch. Their entire bodies then froze.
"Oh f*ck! It smells so good! It smells so good!" Little Wang's nose had an uncontrollable desire to stick itself out. His entire body nearly floated up along with the fragrance.
"It's so fragrant! It smells so good that it might even take my life!" Little Chen shouted loudly with goosebumps forming all over his body.
"Slurp!"
Little Mei took a deep breath and swallowed her saliva; though it soon began to drool out once more.
Aside from them, the entire program crew were also going crazy.
"F*CK! This is just too fragrant! What's going on?!"
"I can't take it anymore. I'm so hungry! So hungry! Where's that delicious food coming from?"
"I've traveled so many years, but I've lived in vain! This is the most delicious aroma I've ever smelled!"
...
The whole crew was getting flared up, but their eyes soon slid down to Ye Lingchen's side.
At that moment, those six fish were gleaming with oil under the bonfire, dyed golden by the roaring flame. Juices even began flowing slowly along the bodies of the fish.
"Oh f*ck! Is there something wrong with my eyes? Those six fishes are actually glowing!"
Everyone in the program crew rubbed their eyes in surprise and exclaimed.
They were not alone. Chen Xiaoyan and the other four were exactly like the ants on top of a hot pan. They were fidgety and could not help but scratch their ears and their cheeks.
They looked at the fish in their hands and wanted to hammer their eyes into it.
Fragrant! It was too fragrant!
In all their life, they had never seen such a deliciously fragrant fish!
It did not stop at just the fragrance. The appearance of the fish was sparkling and translucent, as if calling to them, "Eat me! Come and eat me."

"Y, is this fish ready to eat? I think it's already cooked." Arnelle could not help but say.
Saliva dribbled out as soon as she opened her mouth, causing her beautiful face to blush.
"Y, I can't take it anymore. This is torturous!" Dalei said bitterly.
What could be sadder than having delicious food in hand but not being able to eat it?
Ye Lingchen smiled. "Let's countdown from ten!"
His words calmed everyone's minds at once, while simultaneously making them anticipate it even more.
It was only ten seconds!
Despite that, it felt as though it was a century long. Their hearts felt itchy and impatient, as if it was bitten by thousands of ants.
"Okay. It's done!"
Ye Lingchen's words made them incredibly relieved. They brought the fish into their mouths at the fastest possible speed.
"Ah! It's so hot!"
Arnelle screamed, but in spite of that, she merely blew it a couple of times, before impatiently taking a bite out of the fish.
"Huhuhu, it's delicious! It's so delicious!" She had a mouthful of fish and her petite body trembled uncontrollably. Her complexion turned ruddy at once.
Although it was grilled fish, the flesh of the fish was extremely silky, as though it was swimming in her mouth. It flowed along her tongue and brought her unparalleled satisfaction every single time.
When she swallowed the fish, the warmth went from her throat all the way into her stomach. At the same time, that delicious scent finally exploded inside her stomach, causing her to shudder involuntarily.
Chen Xiaoyan was more reserved. She first brought the fish in front of her and blew it for a moment. It was then that her teeth were revealed slightly as she bit down on the fish's belly.
Crackle!
There was a crunch.
The fish's exterior seemed to be covered in a golden layer. It was very brittle, but not tough at all, making it easy to bite off.
Under that golden layer was a near-translucent white flesh. Two completely different textures combined to elevate the taste to its fullest. Moreover, there was no fishy smell, and all the delicious flavors were imparted into the fish thanks to Ye Lingchen. The taste simply delighted one's mouth.
She could not help but exclaim, "The outside is crisp and the inside is tender. This is exquisite!"
Little Mo's reaction was no less amusing than Arnelle's—the former's mouth never even stopped and there was only one thought in her mind: eat!
However, she muttered with excitement as she was eating, "It's so delicious! It's really delicious! This shouldn't be a delicacy that mortals ought to eat. This fish should only be available in the Heavens. How many people had the privilege of tasting it on earth? Y, I've eaten food prepared by Michelin star chefs, but they truly can't be compared to you!"
Dalei ate the fastest and his mouth was greasy. The fish was gone and he was licking the bamboo as well as the fish bones. "I didn't study a lot and I can never be compared to cultured people like you. I just want to say, f*cking amazing! This fish is really delicious!"
"Brother Yang, what do you think?" Dalei turned his head to look at Brother Yang but was left stunned by what he saw.
In the corners of Brother Yang's eyes were two streams of tears which flowed incessantly like a ruptured embankment.
"It's delicious! It's delicious!" Brother Yang was already silently crying. He did not forget to chew on his food while he cried. "Huhuhuhu, I'm feeling unprecedented happiness. Really! My life feels complete after eating such delicious food. Thanks be to God, for he looked kindly upon I, Brother Yang!"
