I Am A Prodigy Chapter 77

Ye Lingchen answered the call. "Yunxi?"
"Lingchen, save me! I'm running out of options. Can you please save me…" Zhang Yunxi pleaded, her voice hoarse. She had probably been crying for an entire night in desperation.
"Don't worry, I'll help you!" Ye Lingchen's expression darkened. "Stay calm and slowly tell me what happened. It'll be fine with me around."
Hearing Ye Lingchen's voice, Zhang Yunxi broke into tears once again.
She told him what happened as she cried.
Meanwhile, Ye Lingchen's face was turning darker by the second.
It turned out that Zhang Yunxi's father was addicted to gambling. Some time ago, he impulsively borrowed money from a loan shark to gamble. With the compounding interest, not only did they lose their assets, they were now in a huge debt of over RMB500,000.
RMB500,000 was an unbearable debt for Zhang Yunxi's family. Even Zhang Yunxi's university funds could not cover it.
"You're not studying?" asked Ye Lingchen.
"N—no…" Zhang Yunxi replied in a raspy voice.
Her entire family was cleaned out. The school fees along with accommodation cost was around RMB10,000. That was not something they could spare.
Ye Lingchen went silent. Since he was young, he knew Zhang Yunxi as a driven person. It was commonly said that a poor man's child will mature quickly. Not only was Zhang Yunxi beautiful, but she was also driven and had high self-esteem. He never expected her to be in this kind of situation.
"I originally planned to work my debt off, but…it's too difficult." Zhang Yunxi's voice was filled with despair. "That group of people came yesterday. They said they were going to use me to repay the debt. I'm only calling you as I have no other choice. I'm really scared…"
"Don't be scared. I'll go to your house right now. Wait for me!"
Ending the call, Ye Lingchen dared not to waste any time. He had his housemate take leave for him and immediately rushed out. He purchased the earliest plane ticket without a second thought and rushed to the airport.

The flight from Capital City to Jinghai City takes approximately two hours. He purchased the 7:30am flight and should arrive at Jinghai City around 9:30am. To travel from Jinghai City to Rugao City needed approximately 40 minutes.
There should be enough time.
On the way to the airport, Ye Lingchen continually consoled Zhang Yunxi. To be safe, he transferred RMB500,000 over to her first.
With his wealth, RMB500,000 was nothing. Wealth was not a necessity, but if Zhang Yunxi got hurt, his conscience will not rest well.
"Yunxi, if that group of people comes collecting debt again when needed, just pay them with the RMB500,000 I gave you. Remember, you must always prioritize your safety."
"Lingchen, how do you have so much money? Don't tell me you've also taken a loan from loan sharks. That's something you should never do!" Zhang Yunxi was badly traumatized by her experience.
"Relax, I earned that money myself."
"Then I'll take this as a loan from you. I'll repay you even if I have to be your slave for my entire life!" Zhang Yunxi said in a determined voice.
Ye Lingchen transferred RMB500,000 to her with no questions. That gesture was unbelievably touching for her.
"I'm boarding the plane now. I'll try to be quick."
Paying back?
Of course, it was not that simple.
Ye Lingchen narrowed his eyes.
These people gave out loans and ran a casino. The money they obtained was surely of illegal origins. Ye Lingchen naturally would not pass his money to them just like that.
Furthermore, Zhang Yunxi could not attend university because of these people!
This matter would not be settled that easily.
After boarding, Ye Lingchen was still worried. Those people were definitely thugs. It was fine if they were only after the money, but Zhang Yunxi's beauty might give them ideas. If that happened, the outcome would be unpredictable.

He was worried about Zhang Yunxi's safety, hoping to be by her side immediately.
The plane took off smoothly and reached the troposphere shortly, flying towards the direction of Jinghai City.
Seated next to Ye Lingchen was a woman with her toddler who looked to be around three years old.
The kid was very friendly, his gaze met with Ye Lingchen's. His chubby cheeks looked extremely adorable.
Ye Lingchen decided on a whim to stare back at him.
That led to some problems.
Ye Lingchen had read plenty of books on fortune-telling. He could see darkness in between the brows of that kid. That was an ill omen!
"Lady, your kid will face a calamity soon. You should be more careful!" Ye Lingchen gave her a friendly reminder.
"Calamity?" The woman was stunned and taken aback, annoyed by the statement.
Nobody liked hearing such words.
She looked at Ye Lingchen suspiciously as though he was a scammer. She then shifted away and ignored him.
Eh?
Ye Lingchen scowled, staring at the woman's face, "You'll meet a calamity too."
Without a doubt, this person was a scammer, one that insults others' intelligence!
"Lady, please believe me." Ye Lingchen looked worried. It appeared that this woman would be in a serious predicament!
"Scammer, there should be a limit to your scams alright?" An uncle nearby could not stand it anymore. "Young lady, I'll switch places with you. It'll keep you from being harassed by that scammer."
"Thank you." The woman looked at the uncle thankfully, then promptly switched places with him.
Hm?
Ye Lingchen was shocked when he looked at that uncle.
"Save it. I already know what you're going to say." The uncle glared at Ye Lingchen condescendingly. "You're going to say that I'm facing a calamity too, right?"
"Exactly." Ye Lingchen nodded.
"If that's the case, you can shut up now or I'll report you for scamming on the plane!" The uncle warned with a laugh.
Ye Lingchen's face was serious. "I don't joke in matters like this."
"Stewardess, there's a scammer here!"
Before the uncle could call out, the people around him had already reported the incident. In a moment, many fingers pointed toward Ye Lingchen.
A tall, sassy stewardess in her uniform with long fair legs came over.
She warned in a clear but respectable tone, "Sir, please do not disturb others while you're in the plane. Furthermore, you should not spread superstitious beliefs. Thank you for your cooperation."
However, Ye Lingchen's expression darkened. His eyes staring right at the stewardess. "You will be facing a calamity, a very serious one!"
The stewardess would not only be facing a calamity, she would most likely be tortured instead.
The stewardess' expression turned cold. "Sir, if you continue to spout nonsense, I'll need to have you detained."
Ye Lingchen kept mum. He swept a glance around and realized the severity of the situation. The passengers of the entire plane was facing a calamity!
That was unbelievable!
As for others, their evaluation of Ye Lingchen had changed.
So this guy was not a scammer but an idiot!
"What kind of flight is this. How could you let an idiot like this board the plane?"
"Can you make him shut up?"
"Oh, I'm dying from laughter. Calamity for everyone? Are you expecting someone to hijack the plane?"
"Yeah right. According to statistics, the chances of hijacking is one in a million."
However, the next instant—
"Freeze! This is a hijacking!"

Agenda of the Villainess

Now, Alicia must find a way to escape the fatal punishment that is the destiny of a villainous noble girl. In doing so, she might even alter the fate of the whole world. This novel is a steampunk take on the otome villainess genre, heavily inspired by the late Victorian era of England and with a system of magic based around floweral circuitry.
