Divine Emperor Of Death Chapter 1061

'... Belong to my Mistress Evelynn?'
Davis looked flabbergasted as he saw Nadia echo those words while her eyes flashed with a golden light. He knew that she wouldn't joke at a time like this; actually, she seldom joked, so it could only be her true feelings.
Indeed, Nadia wanted to personally capture this Poison Essence other than obeying her master's command. Out of the three Mistresses, she was closer to Mistress Evelynn. That's why she was also motivated to crush the revolting monstrosity, claw it into many pieces and send it back to Mistress Evelynn as a tribute!
As much as she wanted to stay with her master, she shared that feeling a bit with Evelynn as well.
The Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn's expression turned into one of panic! It was unable to move or attack. The darkness kept concisely eroding its poisonous powers like it was nothing, and the woman in front of her appeared to be a King Beast Stage Magical Beast!
Doomed!
It knew it was doomed and going to be trapped again!
The darkness swirling around wasn't at the level of the Seventh Stage but the Eighth Stage!
Unfortunately, it was too late to realize this fact.
Numerous sphere layers of darkness stacked upon it each second. It continuously kept building up until it was covered over a hundred layers, with the inner layers constantly trying to engulf and corrode its poison whole.
"Well done, Nadia... Your Darkness Laws are effective against Poison Laws, so when you stack layers upon layers of attack or defense, the Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn will find it extremely difficult to break through your darkness with its poison."
"It's all because of master's advice..." Nadia thoughtfully answered.
Indeed, his advice to Nadia before came from the fact that he knew about Darkness Law's superiority over Poison Laws. In terms of battling, Darkness Laws became extremely effective against poison since it had the ability to erode, corrupt, and eliminate the properties of energy.

If the poison had its properties erased, it would fail to maintain shape and collapse by itself.
Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn's poison might've been still effective against other Laws, but against Darkness Laws, which was almost two major stages higher, it would just have to obediently tie up its hands by itself and give up.
"Now, exhaust it by raining down attacks..." Davis calmly uttered.
"Yes!"
Nadia knew what to do.
She repeatedly sent her dark energy swirling against it, continually bombarding it.
Two percent...
Five percent...
Twenty percent...
It took her about ten minutes to exhaust the Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn, and she spent twenty percent of her dark energy for leaving it with at most one percent of poisonous energy. Once she had brought it to zero or felt like she had brought it to zero since she felt no resistance, she didn't release it but waited for her master's command after she reported.
"Good, keep it inside the darkness layers. However, can you make tiny holes in the layers so that my soul force can enter till it reaches the inside?" Davis asked.
Nadia frowned as she felt that it would be difficult, but she still nodded her head. It would be fine if it were a bloodline technique, but she was just purely controlling energy like how most humans would do. It was unrefined, prone to collapse, lacked aesthetic, and hard to control. ...
Nevertheless, she extended her palm and tried to personally make a few holes in the layers of darkness by pure control. The layers and layers of spheres floating in mid-air encased the Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn. However, it started to tremble visibly.
Her actions made the layers unstable, but two seconds later, many incomplete and unaligned holes formed, but since it led to the Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn, Davis felt that it was great!

"Very good! Nadia! Your skills in controlling Darkness Laws are slowly improving!"
Davis laughed and sent his soul force into the tiny hole but before it could reach the hole...
"I thank- Master, it's attacking now!" Nadia abruptly shouted.
*Sizzle!~*
The sound of poison ashes being eroded by Darkness Laws resounded, but it managed to come out of the hundred layers built around it through the holes in addition to the green smoke that seems to be emerging from its flame.
"Don't worry... That's just its last yet useless struggle, so keep the holes open..."
Davis instructed Nadia not to overestimate it.
His soul force that was tinged with death-like laws was unimpeded as it met with the poisonous ashes. Those ashes and smoke disintegrated upon touch while the death-like energy entered the hole and flowed like an unstoppable stream, heading in a zigzag movement towards the center since the holes were not aligned in a single and straight path.
Davis's soul force quickly dashed past the innermost layer but didn't attack it straightaway but instead, soul force poured in like a tide in the inner sphere and abruptly encased the Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn into it as it swallowed it whole!
His death-like laws didn't interfere with Nadia's dark energy since it didn't graze past it. Davis's control over death-like laws was skillful to the degree that he didn't find it difficult to maneuver inside the darkness layer without eyesight. Just having the feel of his soul sense accompanying it was enough for him to not accidentally hit Nadia's power.
The Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn became aghast!
What is this!? Is this the same darkness!? Why did this inscrutable energy seem so devoid of any relation to the darkness before!?
It tried to muster its last bit of energy to counterattack, but the moment its poisonous energy came out of its rotten face, everything disintegrated. Witnessing what had happened, it remained stiff, not daring to move.
However, a strand of this inscrutable energy suddenly stabbed through right at its forehead!
No!!!
The Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn's eyes were wide as it started to engage in a soul battle!
Davis, who was outside, had his expression calm. He didn't even seem to be having any trouble or was afraid that his soul would be poisoned back.
Indeed, he truly was not afraid as the Will of a Low-Level King Grade Poison Essence would have no chance to employ a counterattack towards him, especially not when he is using his soul force with the death-like laws. Moreover, his soul was too powerful that its prowess was at Peak-Level King Grade while the
Even the Purple Yang Star Lightning, the High-Level King Grade Lightning Elemental that is extremely capable of counterattacking souls when its Will was threatened, was unable to employ a counterattack on him, so it was quite apparent that the Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn would be unable to do anything to him.
Even if it defied the heavens and somehow attacked him, he still had the life-like laws to heal himself.
Davis knew that he was invincible but also knew that he was only invincible within a certain range, probably within one stage ahead of him. Any more and he would probably have difficulty keeping his life intact.
However, the question of safety and need came by...
Why did he need to endanger himself when he could just use Fallen Heaven to get rid of the Pestilent Dragonfly Dust Spawn?

Giantslayer
Synopsis: Alain is a fledgling Giantslayer, enhanced individuals capable of killing deadly giants. But these giants are not big, they are what ancient humans would refer to as mundane animals or beasts. 'The Final Curse' as many humans call it, was a curse that shrunk down the entire human population to the size of small rodents. When the curse first occurred, the majority of the human population was eaten by beasts who are now of towering heights and sizes. But their abandoned gargantuan structures were not built for naught, the remaining humans retreated back into their now giant buildings and rebuild societies and nations inside of them. Follow Alain in his quest to right the wrongs done to his past and hunt down the elusive and mythical Elder Giants, giants capable of intellects and speech. Are they real? Alain certainly insists so despite no one believing him. But perhaps it did not matter, they were real enough to him for what they did to his family. A/N: I'm pretty new to writing creatively so I hope to improve as we move along the story. The prose I use is still fairly simple and 'plain', but I am also new to literature in general so I am hoping to improve my vocabulary as well. It should also come under no surprise that I am a non-native English speaker and writer as well. With that said, I do appreciate constructive feedback. Please don't be overly mean at least. All the chapters are rough drafts that will be edited in the future. The cover is by this user from pixiv: https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/4545042
