Davis abruptly looked at Nadia and said, "You're free to go..."

Nadia blinked once with her large yellow eyes. She slowly stood up and opened her muzzle, "Have I been useless?"

Davis pursed his lips, not knowing what made her think of that but he didn't ponder much and said, "It's precisely because you're useful that I said you're free to go. You have protected Evelynn many times already as far as I know and I think that is more than enough."

Nadia blinked again while Evelynn flew towards Nadia and caressed her soft furry cheeks with an uncertain gaze, "He means that you've paid your debts by saving me many times, so you're free to return to your clan."

Nadia whimpered, sounding reluctant.

'As expected... They've grown rather close...' Davis inwardly smiled as he saw how these two behaved.

Evelynn proactively conversed and made friends with Nadia after she had been saved a lot of times. To her, Nadia was both a mount and a benefactor, so the two facts combined made her treat Nadia closely.

"I-I want to rise in strength... Can I follow?" Nadia suddenly echoed, "Ah, if you want, I can be your Magical Beast Mount again!"

Davis and Evelynn became astonished.

However, even Nadia became shocked because of her sudden outpour of her feelings. She became embarrassed of herself and howled to the skies.

Indeed, how could a Magical Beast lower itself to become the mount of a human? She became ashamed of herself but even then her thoughts didn't change as she wanted to become strong.

Besides, staying with these two humans... For the first time in her life, she felt like she possessed peace which she was not able to find in her clan.

Davis thought that this female wolf was rather honest, outspoken, strong, and even for his need for a Magical Beast Mount because it can hide in plain sight just like him.

He had spoken with Drake Blackburn before about Magical Beast Mounts, so he was rather tempted over Nadia's offer as she fitted his type of Magical Beast Mount.

Can carry him on her back without complaining? Check!

Can hide? Check.

Listens to him? Check!

Is powerful? Check!

Even if she isn't powerful, she knows how to harass enemies!

'An honest and cunning wolf, perhaps...' Davis didn't know how these two conflicting personalities are in Nadia because, in a way, she was just like him.

Initially, they were strangers and she deceived him by hiding the matter of Crowned Violet-Winged Condor's infants.

This could be considered as cunning...

And now when they had interacted over the past few days, Nadia has become rather honest and maybe even obedient or she acts like that so she could later kill them but he had already removed that possibility because she had many chances to kill Evelynn but she didn't so.

But that could also be explained that she was wary of him.

...But she didn't need to be deeply wary of him a lot because she didn't know about his ability to kill people mysteriously, so Davis concluded that she was rather honest.

Besides anything else, her yellow eyes were pure, relaying her intent to him without any falsification. This made him think that she is similar to him in ideals. Honest towards close ones and cunning towards enemies.

Evelynn turned to look at Davis expectantly but she didn't urge him. For all she knew, he could have plans to use his secrets in the Sunset Tear Mountain, so she didn't want to influence his thoughts too much.

However, she felt if Nadia was with them and could even become their mount, it would be better.

Davis looked at the blameless ground for a few seconds before he shot a look towards the female wolf leader, "Say, Nadia, are you willing to permanently become my mount?"

Nadia's big yellow eyes shot wide and so did Evelynn's.

Nadia stayed silent for a few seconds before she replied, "I think not..."

Davis smiled wryly on hearing her answer.

He got rejected...

"How about me? Are you willing to become my mount?" Evelynn by the side echoed with narrowed eyes.

In truth, she was rather angry with Nadia that she rejected her husband's request but realizing that it was permanent, she rather understood Nadia's answer. Hence, she couldn't help but ask.

Nadia shook her head vehemently this time, vastly worse than the time she replied to Davis.

Evelynn looked as if she received a heart attack. She held her heart and fell to the ground as if she felt incredible pain, overreacting to Nadia's rejection.

"Hahaha..."

But this seemingly overexaggerated reaction of hers made Davis laugh which made Evelynn smile back at him.

In truth, Davis was just pondering over how he got rejected by two times for two different requests by two beauties rather made him feel worse, but Evelynn's goofiness cleared it all away like a high tide that cleaned away all the trash from the shore!

He looked at Evelynn's smiling face and realized for she managed to make that rather awkward situation into a comical one.

He chuckled and looked at the female wolf who looked worried.

"Alright, Nadia. You can become our mount for the time until we exit this Sunset Tear Mountain and also, you would have to listen to my words during this time like in the past."

"Got it?"

Nadia instantly echoed as her yellow eyes flashed, "Yes!"

It was as if she were an obedient Magical Beast already.

In the next few days, Davis and Evelynn went further into the Sunset Tear Mountain, riding on Nadia's back.

They were attacked by Magical Beasts Clans without much of a surprise, hence, Davis had no choice but to make a show of strength. Nadia's Lord Beast Stage undulations flared and no one belonging to the Peak-Level Sky Grade Clans dared to attack them anymore.

However, he only told her to do so after making Evelynn use her Poison Attributed Essence Gathering Cultivation against the opportunistic Magical Beasts who thought that they were weak.

To existences that acted on their instincts and preyed on the weak to devour them, Davis didn't feel like pitying them either.

Evelynn passively attacked with her Noxious Flesh-Searing Poison on whoever or whichever Magical Beast that tried to attack her. Unlike Davis, she looked as if she were only defending herself.

Nadia gradually became to comprehend how to conceal her undulations because of her species trait and darkness attributes working in tandem to teach her, so she was quickly able to learn it and she always concealed her Lord Beast Stage undulations.

If she wanted to kill a Lord Beast Stage Magical Beast, then she had more chances to succeed if she stayed in the shadows to ambush. She had more than fifty percent chances to take down the Magical Beast of equal level and stage in a single strike!
