I’m Actually a Cultivation Bigshot Chapter 394

The Jade Emperor was stunned. He let out a soft cough and said seriously, "To all the Immortals, no one should cause a commotion in the Heavenly Palace!"
At that moment, everyone stopped talking.
Taibai Jinxing quickly helped to settle the awkwardness and said, "Your Highness, everyone couldn't help but talk a bit longer as their seals were just disabled and it's been a long time since they talked. Please, don't blame it on them, Your Highness."
The Jade Emperor waved his hand and then said cautiously, "Forget it. Right now, the most important thing is to choose a palace for the expert. Does anyone here have a better plan?"
He was also feeling troubled. He would definitely present the expert a gift but what to give and how it was presented should be considered seriously. It was indeed a difficult problem.
There were lots of Immortal Palaces in the Heavenly Palace. He would give the best one, but… All the nice Immortal Palaces were occupied, just like the Jade Emperor's Taiwei Yuqing Palace and the Empress' Yao Chi for example.
"This…"
All the Immortals had noticed it as well and were all grinding their brain juices, trying to think of a solution.
Taibai Jinxing suggested, "There's a vacancy at the Tianhuang Dadi. Why not change the Ziwei Palace to the Palace of the Deluxe Merit Saint?"
The Jade Emperor frowned and gave it a thought. "I'm afraid this action might not be appropriate, but…this is the only way out of it."
Giving a second-hand palace as a gift was not a very good idea. Besides, changing the palace abruptly would not be a good idea regardless of its relationship with others or logical wise. The most important thing was that…the Heavenly Palace itself would not permit it.
The Jade Emperor let out a long sigh and said, feeling troubled, "I didn't expect there'd be a day when an Immortal Palace from the Heavenly Palace can't be given as a gift!"
He thought back to the four-part architecture the expert had back in the Immortal Realm. 'That's his way of having a luxurious and low-profile life. It's much better than the Heavenly Palace. When comparing the both of them, the Heavenly Palace only has a luxurious outer surface. Apart from being able to sparkle, there's no other function and it lacks a lot compared to the other.'
Broom!
At that moment, the entire Heavenly Palace shook and an abnormal phenomenon rushed through the clouds, bringing along the shadows of a dragon and a phoenix rising in the sky. There was also the sound of a crane, making that light appear like a pillar. Amidst the chaos from far, there were layers of purple aura suddenly blasting out. It gathered at a certain point in the Heavenly Palace!
It was a good sign.
Even the Zixiao Palace was suddenly covered in fog. Then, it was shaking aggressively as if being struck by an earthquake.

'What's going on here? Is the Heavenly Palace experiencing an earthquake?'
This never happened before.
All the Immortals flew and anxiously left the Zixiao Palace.
Not far away, beside the astronomical observatory which was initially deserted, something could be seen bulging outward. The entire territory of the Heavenly Palace was expanded and a new piece of land was formed.
Then, the surface of the land started to undergo some changes. Under the observation of the crowd who were all dumbfounded, something seemed to be growing out of the initially flat surface.
The star on Taibai Jinxing's forehead was starting to glow out of shock. His white hair stood up as he glanced at the scene before him, finding it hard to believe. He started doubting his life. "This…this…this is…"
The other Immortals were also stunned. They all felt as if an electric current had coursed through their insides all the way to their heads. They were utterly terrified as they stuttered, "Heavenly… Heavenly Palace, it…it grew a new Immortal Palace on its own?!"
The Heavenly Palace used to be a Demon Palace, and it was a treasure born alongside the entire realm. The palace was ruled by Heavenly Guards while the demons helped build the Heavenly Palace. The palace's main buildings amounted to 108 buildings, which was a heavenly figure, equivalent to the rules of Heaven and Earth.
'Yet at this moment…it's changing?'
'It just changed like that?'
'In such a casual way, with no hesitation? It just changed without a tempo?'
In no time, a palace appeared in front of everyone. It was different from the other Immortal Palaces which were made of golden bricks and roof tiles. This palace had a purple roof, a harmonious purple color. It was the most honorable color of the prehistoric era. Naturally, no words could describe this level of prestige.
Besides that, the jades and crystals used to make up the pillars had all sorts of auspicious pictures crafted onto them. It even had the halos of a beast displayed. Judging from the artwork itself, it was a few times better than the other Immortal Palaces.
Comparing it to others, the other Immortal Palaces seemed like they were just a protocol while that palace was built with more sincere effort…
"Wow…"
Many of the Immortals widened their mouths simultaneously. Their jaws were about to touch the ground.
Finally, at the highest point of the Immortal Palace, a door plaque with a purple background was floating in the air. There were five big golden words imprinted on it, 'Palace of Deluxe Merit Saint'.
"This…this…is awesome!"
The Immortals could not describe the feelings they currently had. They never thought that as soon as their seals were disabled, their perspectives of the world would change drastically because of the shock.
The Jade Emperor looked at the Palace of the Deluxe Merit Saint blankly. He clenched his teeth and said guiltily, "You, too, know how to get on other's good terms!"

The Palace of the Deluxe Merit Saint was located next to the astronomical observatory. Staying in that palace would enable one to see the stars outside as well as the houses in the Immortal Realm. Beside it, the water flowing in the Star River could be seen with the stars sparkling in it.
That was the protected landscape of the Heavenly Palace. Yet…it made an exception and built another palace!
Apart from that, all the other Immortal Palaces only had one or two stories. Yet, the Palace of the Deluxe Merit Saint had three stories, with the top floor being a spot for him to enjoy the scenery.
Standing on top of it could allow one to glance at the Star River as well as the Immortal Palaces in the Heavenly Palace.
Taibai Jinxing's mind went blank. He kept muttering to himself as he walked with trembling footsteps, "The Heavenly Palace obviously put in a lot of effort just to provide the expert with a nice Immortal Palace."
"Hold it right there! What are you doing?"
Following that stern voice, a gigantic outline blocked Taibai Jinxing. He said seriously, "Please, stay away from the Palace of the Deluxe Merit Saint. Please, be more than five hundred meters away to enjoy the scene. No one's allowed to go near it!"
Taibai Jinxing frowned. "What do you mean by that, Juling Shen?"
"The Deluxe Merit Saint has yet to move in. I'm in charge of protecting this area. Back off. Hurry up and back off. Don't soil this place!"
…
The next morning.
Li Nianfan had a good night's sleep. The moment he opened his eyes, he immediately saw seven Immortals standing in a line at the doorway. Immediately, he put on a smile and said, "Morning, Seven Princesses."
The Seven Princesses said together, "Good morning, Mr. Li."
"Xiao Bai, go and steam some more steamed bread."
Li Nianfan greeted, "Since you guys are here, let's have breakfast together."
"Thank…thank you, Mr. Li" Cheng Yi felt embarrassed.
They all rushed over earlier in the morning, thinking of inviting Li Nianfan over to the Heavenly Palace. She did not think too much about it. 'This whole thing makes me think that I'm here to request for a meal…'
"It'll be weird if you're being this polite. Everyone, please, have a seat." Li Nianfan smiled. "I'll go brush my teeth. Please, excuse me for a moment."
Then, something that made Li Nianfan feel awkward happened.
Seven pairs of big gorgeous eyes were staring curiously at him while he was brushing his teeth. That feeling of excitement… He could not comment much on it and could not express it. It took him lots of effort just to finish brushing his teeth during such a difficult time.
When he arrived at the dining table, Daji and Dragin had come over as well. The steamed bread had been placed neatly and presented in front of everyone. Apart from that, there was porridge and a plate of salted vegetables.
Li Nianfan said, "The breakfast is rather simple. I hope everyone can tolerate it."
Cheng Yi kept shaking her head. "No worries. This is good enough!"
They picked up the steamed bread before them. The texture was very soft and their eyes glinted with mixed feelings.
'These steamed bread… Heavenly Spirits!'
'Isn't it because of the dough puppets that we were all able to free ourselves? How can we bring ourselves to eat them?!'
While they were having those thoughts, they all opened their mouths simultaneously and took a bite.
'Mmm, this tastes good…'
Li Nianfan smiled and said, "I guess there must be something that brings the Seven Princesses over here this early in the morning, right?"
"It's like this, Mr. Li."
Big Sister, Hong, was still biting onto a big piece of steamed bread. She quickly took a sip of the porridge. Then, she shrunk her neck and with much effort, she swallowed the steam bread and said, "Mr. Li has contributed a lot to the Heavenly Palace and you're a Deluxe Merit Saint. According to your status, you should be the Deluxe Merit Saint of the Immortal Realm. We have arranged an Immortal Palace for you in the Heavenly Palace. So, we purposely came here to invite you over to have a look."
"Deluxe Merit Saint? Me?"
Li Nianfan was dumbfounded and stunned, but also thrilled. 'They even prepared an Immortal Palace for me?'
"I know that the Jade Emperor wanted to thank me, but I'm just a mortal. It'd be a waste for me to ask for an Immortal Palace."
Cheng Yi quickly advised with caution, "Mr. Li, this isn't just a simple expression of gratitude. This is what a Deluxe Merit Saint should get."
Li Nianfan kept quiet for some time and then said with a smile, "The Jade Emperor really is generous."
Of course, he knew merits were important, so was status!
However, he only had merits and no cultivation. In the eyes of an outsider, it was worthless. However, being generous was one matter. For the Jade Emperor to do such a thing, most of the reason behind it was because he had taken their relationship into consideration.
'If only my merits can influence other people or have good capabilities. Then, my status would be very different.'
That thought flashed in Li Nianfan's mind. Yet, he blurted out, "Deal! It's hard for me to reject such a tremendous offer. I shall head over to the Heavenly Palace. I might as well take a look at the Heavenly Palace after its recovery."

Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
