Heaven’s Devourer Chapter 1387

"Is the Chifeng Immortal Lord dead?"
The Primeval Mighty Miracle God Tribe members asked anxiously.
They were surprised by how tough Wu Yu was. He had neither retaliated nor evaded, but taken the full brunt of the Gu Huo Immortal Lord's blow.
The Gu Di Immortal Lord was already prepared to kill Yang Wenlan, and almost made her move.
She managed to pull back at the last moment, and her heart shrank in fear. If she had not followed the Gu Huo Immortal Lord's commands, she would definitely have lost favor.
"What a fool. Trading his life for this rabble?" The Gu Di Immortal Lord sneered at him inwardly.
The Gu Huo Immortal Lord stowed the Greater Darkness Heaven. The others were thoroughly disappointed, thinking that Wu Yu's immortal spirit was smashed.
After all, it was all too obvious how horrifying the power of the Gu Huo Immortal Lord's attack had been.
But unexpectedly, Wu Yu's skull had not split under the crushing blow!
There were some cracks in his skull, but they very quickly healed. As for his body, it stood firm.
The Greater Darkness Heaven rang out with fearsome force. Wu Yu was dazed, his world spinning. A few such blows could indeed kill him.
"You can even stand a direct hit from a great void immortal treasure. Now I see how the Gu Qiang Immortal Lord died at your hands." The grim voice of the Gu Huo Immortal Lord could be heard.
While Wu Yu was still dazed, a huge world had already caged him. Wu Yu knew that he had been captured in a place like the inside of the Floating Dreams Pagoda.
He heard raucous laughter.
"Congratulations, Young Master! You've caught the killer!"
"Congratulations, Young Master. Your wisdom is infinite."
The enthusiastic slurps of frenzied bootlicking rang out.
"Young Master, how will you deal with the others?" Seemed like the Gu Di Immortal Lord's voice.
"Bring them back to the immortal kings, and leave their fate up to them."
Hearing this, Wu Yu breathed a sigh of relief. He knew the Gu Huo Immortal Lord's intent. He wanted to capture Wu Yu and the Ancient Ink Camp and then send them back to the two immortal kings. This was, after all, the Gu Qiang Immortal Lord's life, and not his to take responsibility for. If he were truly on good terms with the Gu Qiang Immortal Lord, then he might have very well lost control and killed Wu Yu.
Such a way of dealing with things spoke of how shrewd he was. Of course, he had also bought time for Wu Yu.
After a while, he was alert, and the world before his eyes was also clear. He saw that the world around him was full of mirrors. Through these mirrors, he could see the vast, starry skies outside. Within this area, he was in a white world where crystal light shone everywhere. Wu Yu understood that he had been trapped by the Gu Huo Immortal Lord within the Greater Darkness Heaven great void immortal treasure.

It seemed like it would be very difficult to get out. It was a curious situation. He had trapped the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord in the Floating Dreams Pagoda, while the Gu Huo Immortal Lord had trapped him in the Greater Darkness Heaven.
"Stay in there quietly. When the contest for Marks of an Immortal King ends, you will receive your death sentence before the two immortal kings," the Gu Huo Immortal Lord said.
Wu Yu did not reply. He saw the Gu Di Immortal Lord unwillingly return the Ancient Ink Camp members back to the Demonic Flute of Ancient Tongues, then Wu Yu saw no more of them.
Wu Yu used his Eyes of Fire and Gold to survey his situation and test the waters.
"The Gu Huo Immortal Lord has miscalculated. Given the depths that I have refined my Somersault Cloud to, this Greater Darkness Heaven cannot hold me. I can leave immediately."
Wu Yu knew.
However, he could not just go. Firstly, if he did, the Gu Huo Immortal Lord would just track him down with the Howling Celestial Dog again.
Secondly, and more importantly, the Ancient Ink Camp was still in their hands, and Wu Yu had no solution to rescue them for now.
"Luckily, this imprisonment does not affect me helping Nangong Wei." He could still enter the Floating Dreams Pagoda.
In order to keep them close at hand to use, destinable and great void immortal treasures were often not placed in Sumeru Pouches. Rather, they were shrunk and kept outside so that they could be pulled out with expedience.
Especially for 9-realm immortal lords, their realms were already mastered to a certain extent. Placing items within these realms would be even safer. However, weapons such as the Greater Darkness Heaven would still be kept outside, near the chest of the Gu Huo Immortal Lord. Against an enemy, it could be instantly enlarged and wielded.
The Gu Huo Immortal Lord had not blocked out Wu Yu's vision, and so he could keep an eye on their journey. They had already put the matter of Wu Yu aside and were continuing their mission to hunt Marks of an Immortal King. Now the Howling Celestial Dog was leading the way, so they would find more success.
The Gu Huo Immortal Lord seemed to have completely forgotten that Wu Yu was inside the Greater Darkness Heaven. This showed how little he thought of Wu Yu. While Wu Yu might look to be close to his level, the two had very different futures.
For the Gu Huo Immortal Lord, the only rival he might regard worthy was Mo Yuji. The others, like the Ruling Fate Immortal Lord and Zhao Yuanchen, were not at his level.
"Seems like I can only wait for a chance when things get messy."
Wu Yu prepared himself.
He knew that he could leap out of the Greater Darkness Heaven, but to then steal the Demonic Flute of Ancient Tongues from the Gu Di Immortal Lord before all these experts was impossible. Therefore, he had to bide his time.

Wu Yu could only pray that such an opportunity presented itself. After all, the Gu Huo Immortal Lord's goal was the 10th-grade Mark of an Immortal King. That must be an incredibly difficult test!
Wu Yu therefore entered the Floating Dreams Pagoda, since the Gu Huo Immortal Lord was paying no more attention to him. Inside, Wu Yu had more time, which he used for cultivation and helping Nangong Wei. Although he was currently trapped, he still paid attention to the situation outside for any changes. If he could not find any in these remaining 70 years or so, the Ancient Ink Camp members' lives would be in grave danger.
When Wu Yu first arrived at the Sublime Gracious Sky, he was weak. If not for their protection, he would not have been able to enter with an Immortal King Token. Besides, he had implicated them in this. No matter what, Wu Yu could not, in good conscience, allow them to die for him!
However, unless they made some significant discovery, the Primeval Mighty Miracle God Tribe forces moved in orderly fashion.
In that case, things looked bleak for Wu Yu.
In the time that followed, he saw their Mark farming rocket. The agility of the Howling Celestial Dog surpassed even the All Amalgamating Cat, and it could even smell Marks of an Immortal King. Therefore, their forces could move with great accuracy. In just a decade, they had collected many Marks, while others might be struggling to even find one!
One day, they met the eternal phoenix tribe.
"Young Master, the eternal phoenix tribe's White Sun Immortal Lord begs an audience," someone reported.
"Permission granted." The Gu Huo Immortal Lord nodded.
The Primeval Mighty Miracle God Tribe opened a path, and the eternal phoenix tribe flew in, with the White Sun Immortal Lord leading them. His face was pale as he bowed to the Gu Huo Immortal Lord. "My greetings to the Gu Huo Immortal Lord."
The Gu Huo Immortal Lord cut straight to the chase. "The eternal phoenix tribe is well-known. What business do you have with me? Where is your Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord?"
The White Sun Immortal Lord hung his head. "We are ashamed. Today, we come to find the Gu Huo Immortal Lord with a request, and it has to do with the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord."
"What is it?" the Gu Huo Immortal Lord asked mildly. Actually, he already knew about the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord.
The White Sun Immortal Lord said brokenly, "When we were fighting for a ninth-grade Mark of an Immortal King, we were backstabbed by an immortal lord called the Snow Region Immortal Lord. He snatched the ninth-grade Mark of an Immortal King and even used some trick to capture the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord. He must die. Until now, we have no news of the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord, and we are steeped in fear and shame."
The Gu Huo Immortal Lord was shocked. "What news! This Snow Region Immortal Lord is despicable and must die! Does he not know how much the Provenance Phoenix Empress dotes on the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord? This Snow Region Immortal Lord must die."
The White Sun Immortal Lord said, "I don't know what that person is up to either. Nothing but a death wish.... I hear that the Gu Huo Immortal Lord has a Howling Celestial Dog, and I came to beg the Gu Huo Immortal Lord to help us find the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord. If we can find her, you will have our deepest thanks! I have one of the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord's possessions with me, for the Howling Celestial Dog to learn her scent."
They understood the Howling Celestial Dog's abilities well, but they did not know that the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord was right by their side.
"Of course. We have always been friendly with the eternal phoenix tribe. This sort of trouble is also our duty to address. Let us leave Immortal Message Talismans with each other. If there is news, I will definitely contact you," the Gu Huo Immortal Lord said.
"Nngh...." The White Sun Immortal Lord had envisioned following the Gu Huo Immortal Lord, who would be doing his best to find the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord. After all, it was urgent. But the Gu Huo Immortal Lord had immediately dismissed them. After all, they each had their own secrets, and it would not be convenient for the eternal phoenix tribe to tag alongside them. At most, he would treat it as a "convenience," but not treat the search as his main priority.
The White Sun Immortal Lord wanted them to make it their main priority, but that was not realistic. The fact that they had even consented to help was already a blessing. The White Sun Immortal Lord understood this. He hurriedly thanked the Gu Huo Immortal Lord and gave the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord’s scent to the Howling Celestial Dog before he was shown away.
"I will let you know the moment I have news of the Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord. The Dancing Flame Phoenix Lord is clever and capable. She will be fine. Please do not worry."
"Many thanks! Many thanks!" The White Sun Immortal Lord led the eternal phoenix tribe away.
"Not bad. One less rival. However, there have indeed been quite a few talents coming out of the ordinary immortals. Like this Chifeng Immortal Lord and the Snow Region Immortal Lord." The Gu Huo Immortal Lord laughed.
"Young Master, are you not planning to help them?"
"Let nature take its course. If we meet her, we can consider claiming that favor."

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
