Chapter 1836: Sudden Attack by Two Paramount Heavenly Gods
Cyril felt an urge to curse out loud.
In the very next instant, however, he understood what Chen Chen was thinking.
“Sigh, he’s doing this for An Lin’s development again…
“You’ve almost become An Lin’s doting grandpa…”
There was a look of exasperation on Cyril’s face. Although he wasn’t against Chen Chen doing this, would it really hurt for Chen Chen to give him a heads-up first? This wasn’t too much to ask, was it?
Having two paramount Heavenly Gods suddenly assault their base was extremely terrifying, okay?
The earth’s surface in the Land of Eternal Light had already become a sea of blazing lava. Like a gigantic hammer, the devastating power of the earth continually smashed into the base of the spell formation. Once the spell formation shattered, the power of earth would instantly engulf and obliterate everything within the Land of Eternal Light.
The attacks from the earth were terrifying, yet the attacks from the sky were even more terrifying. Like a raging waterfall, beam upon beam of pure white light crashed down into the spell formation. Their penetrative power was insane, and they could assimilate and decompose everything that they came into contact with.
Not to mention, there were still countless gigantic lava dragons furiously ramming into the spell formation from all angles.
Every inch of the Land of Eternal Light was under ferocious attack. In fact, it had already been completely surrounded by enemy attacks. If this continued, then there would eventually arrive a time when the defenses of the Heaven Crushing Sect would finally crumble. When that occurred, it would mark the destruction of the Land of Eternal Light.
Just as the two sides were caught in a deadlock, an unexpected change suddenly arose within the Land of Eternal Light.
Some weak-willed Return to Void Stage supreme beings had already been infected by the beams of pure white light that were beaming down from the sky.
“For the glory of heaven!”
“Die! For the true light!”
Some Return to Void Stage supreme beings suddenly bellowed in anger as they lunged toward their own allies. At the same time, they unleashed terrifying spell techniques.
Their allies were taken by surprise, and many were severely wounded by the sudden and terrifying attacks.
“Jin Zha, Ghost King of Power, calm down!” A tree-person—whose body was squirming with green vines—waved its hands and unleashed numerous tendrils of sturdy vines. These vines wrapped around Jin Zha and the Ghost King of Power, and they restricted the two supreme beings’ movements.

A few seconds later, however, the tree-person’s eyes suddenly started to glaze over.
Whoosh…
The vines released Jin Zha and the Ghost King of Power. Then, they started to whip toward the cultivators who hadn’t been affected by the beams of pure white light!
“Hahaha… For the glory of light! Die!”
Boom!
Energy exploded outward, and blood sprayed through the air.
The weak-willed and strong-willed cultivators of the Heaven Crushing Sect started to battle against each other.
The Land of Eternal Light suddenly descended into utter chaos.
In fact, a few powerful spell techniques were launched toward the palace that lay in the very center of the Land of Eternal Light. However, these attacks were all blocked by an invisible barrier that enveloped the palace.
A streak of blue light flew out from the Heaven Crushing Glazed Palace.
This was a female who wore a blue dress and had small golden bells tied around her jade-like ankles. Her appearance was exquisite and flawless, yet there wasn’t a single trace of emotion on her beautiful face. She looked much like an emotionless doll.
Her most eye-catching feature was her long white hair. This hair was longer than she was tall, and like a small and dazzling silver river, it reflected the holy light beaming down from the sky as it billowed through the air.
“It’s the Second Heavenly Disciple’s attendant!”
“Xue Yan has finally come!”
The powerful beings of the Heaven Crushing Sect were all filled with excitement upon seeing Xue Yan arrive. They were feeling extremely distressed fighting against their weak-willed companions, yet they couldn’t find any suitable method to deal with the problem.
Countless orbs of blue light were tossed from Xue Yan’s hands as she speedily flew around the entire Land of Eternal Light. Without exception, everyone who was hit by the orbs of blue light was frozen to the spot.
In no time, she had immobilized the twenty-one affected cultivators.
“Cultivators who are weak-willed or low in ranks, use a spell technique to seal away your own powers!”
Her cold and emotionless voice reverberated around the Land of Eternal Light.
Some cultivators who were feeling strange immediately calmed down upon hearing this. Then, in order to prevent themselves from injuring their companions, they used their most powerful binding spell techniques on themselves.
They all felt a sense of humiliation and vexation.
Faced against the Heavenly God in the sky, they couldn’t even stop themselves from attacking their companions! This kind of gulf in power made them feel extremely depressed and upset.

After all, they were cultivators who practiced the Heaven Crushing Techniques!
Upon seeing “heaven”, was binding themselves and waiting for death all they could do?
Indeed, by sealing away their own powers, they were literally binding themselves and waiting for death!
Humiliation, indignation, anger… Like a seed, these emotions were planted in the minds of some cultivators of the Heaven Crushing Sect.
Perhaps some people would become downcast and listless when faced with a terrifying gap in power. However, there were also those who would unleash even more powerful and unwavering battle intents.
Rumble…
At this moment, an extremely small fissure appeared on the Land of Eternal Light.
Xue Yan’s expression changed slightly, and she immediately swatted her hand toward the fissure. “Black Emperor Mirror!”
A pitch-black mirror that pulsated with the energy of a divine tool patched up the fissure in the spell formation.
However, a faint wisp of white light had already crept out from the fissure. Then, as if it had a mind of its own, it started to roam around the Land of Eternal Light at a terrifying speed.
Rip! Rip! Rip!
Numerous cultivators of the Heaven Crushing Sect howled in agony as the wisp of white light blasted ghastly holes into their bodies.
Even the weakest of the wounded cultivators had already reached the Return to Void Stage. Surprisingly, however, they were absolutely helpless against this wisp of white light that had snuck into the spell formation.
In the blink of an eye, another dozen or so supreme beings had already been severely wounded or killed.
“How dare you wreak havoc in our territory!” Xue Yan performed a spatial skip and quickly arrived on the path of the white light. Then, she ruthlessly slapped her hand toward it!
Boom!
The wisp of white light tore through Xue Yan’s pale hand and almost obliterated her arm along with it.
Xue Yan groaned in pain as blue blood seeped from the corners of her mouth. In the end, however, she eventually managed to destroy the wisp of white light.
Crack…
Another crisp sound echoed through the air.
As the cultivators hurriedly looked toward the spell formation, they despairingly discovered that it had cracked open again. Moreover, there was more than one crack this time…
We’re finished!
This was the thought that appeared in everyone’s mind.
They were unable to defend against a single wisp of white light. Now, however, several cracks had appeared, and numerous wisps of dazzling light were flooding into the spell formation. To the cultivators of the Heaven Crushing Sect, this was definitely a catastrophic crisis.
“Heavenly Light Goddess!”
Right at this moment, an aloof yet furious voice traveled over from the distance.
Once this voice arrived, the cracks in the spell formation instantly closed up.
A youth in linen garment trod through the void toward the Land of Eternal Light.
The cultivators of the Heaven Crushing Sect all teared up in emotion upon seeing the youth trod through the void toward them.
“It’s Heavenly Disciple Chen Chen!”
“We’re saved! Chen Chen is back!”
“We have to hold on!”
In the minds of the Heaven Crushing Sect’s cultivators, Chen Chen’s status was essentially on par with that of Cyril. They were both co-founders of the Heaven Crushing Sect. Moreover, Chen Chen was a human, and the majority of cultivators present were human as well. Thus, the cultivators of the Heaven Crushing Sect had a slight preference for Chen Chen.
Chen Chen’s expression became increasingly somber as he swept his gaze over the heavily wounded and dead cultivators. When he saw that Xue Yan was missing an arm, his entire body trembled slightly.
“Heavenly Light Goddess, if you want to battle, then come after me. What’s the point of bullying a bunch of juniors?”
Chen Chen leaped into the sky and crashed into the boundless sea of light.
The Heavenly Light Goddess’ ethereal and profound voice echoed through heaven and earth.
“You need to pay the price for acting on a whim. I’m not the old me anymore. I’m not afraid of suffering from the Heavenly Dao’s backlash anymore…”
The sounds of explosions suddenly traveled out from the boundless sea of light.
Even though they were protected by a gigantic spell formation, the devastating energy collisions in the sky still caused the cultivators of the Heaven Crushing Sect to feel a strong sense of apprehension. They felt as though the sky was about to be shattered.
Boom!
Another earth-shattering boom erupted.
Countless black fissures appeared in the sky. Then, like cobwebs, they started to spread throughout the surroundings. These fissures stretched for as far as the eye could see, and it was almost as if they had fused together with the horizon in the distance.
The cultivators’ eyes widened in disbelief.
The sky… was genuinely shattered!

A millennial NEET shut-in at heart, he enjoys video games and holo tube while spending time with his female companion, who does all his deific duties for him. Join the crazy adventures of a lazy God and his unwilling follower's rise to power. The first few Arc's of the story is an Academy arc. I think you will know if you like the story by chapter 6 as the first chapter may be confusing (or sucks, idk I like it so whatever)._________ The story is a slow burn. If you are expecting quick progression, I suggest looking at some of the other great stories on RR. I personally enjoy and Patreon several, but that's not what I'm writing. That might hurt my chances of trending anytime soon (or ever lol), but that is fine with me. I'm sure some of you will appreciate the story as much as I do in writing it. FAQ: The story has elements of xianxia and wuxia along with some GameLit (at some point). The story takes place in an age where tech has advanced to a complete integration with magic. Imagine everything running on mana or qi instead of electricity, and you will get the idea. There will be crafting but not until later in the story. It's actually a core plot elemenet for Layla. I'm writing this story for my own enjoyment and as a way of relieving stress in my life. I'm not a pro author or a naturally gifted wordsmith. I don't have beta readers and every chapter posted is a first draft. I'm still learning and will strive to improve as I continue the story. If you don't speak up I can't work on improving as an author. I welcome any criticism and encouragement that would help me become a better writer. I can't believe you read this far down! ;) Enjoy the story. --Cover Credit-- Cover art (emblem) by: Oxana Che Cover Design by: Miblart
