Chapter 1457: A New and Special Spell Technique

Shangguan Yi rested An Lin’s head gently on her legs with a warm smile on her beautiful features as she affectionately ran her fingers through An Lin’s hair. “An Lin is always causing a commotion wherever he goes, but who would have thought that he would be such a quiet and deep sleeper. Even that drastic change just then didn’t wake him up.”

“Brr… Cold…” An Lin murmured and rolled over before encircling his arms around Shangguan Yi’s slender waist and rubbing his head into her stomach, as if he was snuggling up to her for warmth.

With a resigned expression, she unleashed a flame technique to warm up An Lin’s body.

All snow maidens had cool body temperatures by nature. As such, the mighty Ice Matriarch could only unleash a flame technique to give An Lin some warmth.

Chen Chen jumped into the river again to continue to look for a way out.

The golden space fell into peace and quiet again.

An Lin slept particularly soundly.

A splash erupted, and Meng Zhi flew out from the river with slightly pale features.

She was then astonished by the sight of An Lin sleeping with Shangguan Yi’s legs acting as his pillow.

Shangguan Yi hurriedly provided an explanation of the sequence of events that led up to this point, upon which Meng Zhi was even more astonished, and she stated that no one among the entire snow maiden race could compare to An Lin in a test of courage.

After resting for a while, Meng Zhi dove into the river again to look for a way out.

Not long after that.

Another splash erupted, and the Great Empress flew out from the river.

She was then astonished by the sight of An Lin sleeping with Shangguan Yi’s legs acting as his pillow.

Shangguan Yi hurriedly provided an explanation of the sequence of events that led up to this point, upon which the Great Empress was even more astonished, and she praised An Lin as the most courageous person she had ever seen!

However, the Great Empress was still confused. Why did An Lin have to sleep in Shangguan Yi’s arms?

Shangguan Yi blushed slightly. “It’s more comfortable for him this way.”

The Great Empress had no response to this.

She meditated for a while to recover her energy before diving into the river again.

Shangguan Yi was still looking down at An Lin, and she gently caressed his cheek with a warm, affectionate smile on her face.

Time flew by.

An Lin only woke up after two days.

He slowly opened his eyes to discover an exquisitely beautiful woman looking down at him with warm eyes that tinged with concern.

“How are you feeling?”

It had been a long time since An Lin had slept so soundly.

An apologetic expression appeared on An Lin’s face. “Sorry to trouble you even when I was asleep.”

“That’s alright. I’m just glad that you’re ok.” Shangguan Yi didn’t mind.

An Lin felt like his exhaustion had been completely wiped away, as if he had just been in a magical slumber that cleared away all of the debilitating effects on his body.

Of course, the trauma of his experiences as a blade of grass still remained in his mind. This was something that he was probably never going to be able to forget.

An Lin then turned his eyes upon his system to discover that he had obtained the second stage Yin God cultivation method, which bestowed upon him the Heavenly Ghost Palm technique!

The Heavenly Ghost Palm was imbued with an extremely potent power of yin and was a manifestation of a simulation of the resentment of countless vicious ghosts. The technique could inflict extreme agony upon the target.

As he grew stronger, he would even be able to replicate the torture depicted in the images on the river of time!

An Lin drew a sharp intake of breath upon seeing this.

An Lin was quite depressed when this notion occurred to him.

He tried to divert his own attention. “By the way, how long have we been in this place?”

Shangguan Yi blinked and thought about this for a moment before replying, “After we entered this space, you were unconscious for three days, then you entered the image on the river and spent eighteen days in there. After that, you came out and slept for two days. As such, we’ve been here for twenty-three days.”

“I was only in the image for eighteen days?!”

An Lin was astonished. “I was clearly abused for eighteen years!”

Furthermore, this was an extremely realistic experience. It was as if he had gone to an actual alternate world before being tortured for eighteen whole years!

“Maybe it felt that long because you were in so much pain the entire time?” Shangguan Yi speculated.

Tears welled up in An Lin’s eyes. “No! That was eighteen years! With four seasons and everything!”

“Perhaps one day here is the equivalent of one year in that world?” This wasn’t exactly all that implausible. After all, the space they were currently situated in was a place where the heavenly time power was at its richest, so it wouldn’t be strange if time passed by differently to how it did in the outside world.
