Chapter 1280: The Hundred Sect Battle
The Celestial Thearch slapped his hand onto the black cube again.
“Dao Observation Space, activate!”
Boom!
A burst of extremely powerful spatial fluctuations swept forth.
An Lin was struck by a terrifying rush of dizziness.
In the next instant, he found himself in an extremely unfamiliar environment.
He was greeted by the sight of an extremely beautiful set of mountain ranges.
There were all types of graceful creatures and lush plants that could be seen under a clear blue sky with sparse white clouds.
“As expected, we’ve been split up.” An Lin heaved a faint sigh.
Almost all forms of spatial teleportation distributed everyone to different locations.
“Should I focus on finding the heavenly peach trees first or find some allies first?” An Lin fell into deep thought.
Screw it, just go with the flow…
An Lin decided to leave everything to fate.
Theoretically speaking, there was strength in numbers, but there would be no point in gathering a ton of allies if all of the heavenly peaches were taken during that time.
He appraised his current conditions to find that his power had been severely handicapped.
Tenth-Stage Dao Body…
It had been a long time since An Lin had felt this weak. His body of the War God could no longer be maintained properly, and he could only summon a ball of Divine Flames that was about the size of his palm. Even though it was extremely scorching hot and could make the air shimmer and twist, there was too little of it to maintain his Fire God Mode…
“How pitiful…”
An Lin was feeling a little sorry for himself.
He wandered around aimlessly, looking for where the heavenly peach trees might be located.
Boom!
All of a sudden, a pillar of golden light shot into the sky from a mountain that was not far away.
“What a benevolent and merciful pillar of light!”
An Lin’s eyes widened with shock.
It was quite clear that this was an artificial pillar of light.

So what was the purpose behind putting up this light show?
Wouldn’t it expose one’s location and attract enemies?!
An Lin’s expression shifted drastically. “This must be a special signal to alert one’s allies! They’re gathering all of their allies even if it’s at the risk of exposing their position!”
He felt like this was a very bold move, almost to the point of cockiness.
Seeing as that was the case, he didn’t mind teaching them a lesson on humility…
An Lin began to run toward the pillar of golden light on the mountain.
The pillar of light did not originate from the summit. Instead, it was originating from halfway up the side of the mountain, which was an indication that the person responsible for setting off the pillar of light was leaving an escape route for themselves rather than trapping themselves on the summit.
In the Heavenly Palace.
A huge screen suddenly appeared above the Dao Observation Space divine tool before splitting up into eight hundred different screens.
Each of the screens displayed footage of one contestant.
The Celestial Thearch spoke with a consolatory expression, “Everyone who did not get a chance to participate in the activity will not need to worry about getting bored. Let’s enjoy some fruit and watch the event unfold!”
All of the living beings in the audience were elated to be able to watch such a splendid show!
“Our Sect Leader Kui is awesome as usual! He has only just entered that world and has already kicked another contestant to death.”
“I feel so fortunate to be able to see such a beautiful angel fight. I love you, Shirley!”
“Look, Sect Leader An Lin is on the move.”
“My God, he’s heading over to that pillar of golden light?”
…
An Lin skipped up the mountain like a nimble mountain goat.
Even though his cultivation base had been restricted, his bodily constitution was still extremely powerful. It was far superior compared to an average tenth-stage Dao Body cultivator, that was for sure.

He was still eight hundred meters away from the pillar of light.
An Lin’s expression slowly became more serious as he readied himself for a battle.
Boom!
An explosion suddenly erupted.
“Ah!”
A wail of anguish sounded.
A black figure flew through the air in a parabolic path.
Thump!
The black figure landed not far away from An Lin with black smoke rising from their entire body, which then began to glow with a powerful protective golden light. This was light bestowed upon him by the divine tool.
The figure was in too much of a sorry state for An Lin to identify who they were.
Whoosh!
A spatial ripple swept forth, and the figure was teleported out of the divine tool.
An Lin raised his head again to discover five friendly faces with their palms held together. They were looking down at him with benevolent smiles…
“Amitabha… it’s Sect Leader An Lin?”
“Please do join us, Mr. An Lin.”
The five monks extended a warm invitation to An Lin.
Between them, the golden pillar of light shot into the sky again. This golden pillar of light was not for gathering allies. It was for luring little piggies like him!
“Haha, apologies for the intrusion and thanks for the offer, but I still have some things to do, so I’ll be taking my leave now!” An Lin laughed before fleeing into the distance!
“Don’t go, Benefactor An!”
“Ha! Eat my staff!”
The five monks immediately gave chase with killing intent surging from their bodies!
“Holy f*ck, you shameless baldies! Are you trying to challenge me to a five-on-one battle?” An Lin yelled as he ran.
He was not interested in a battle like that. After all, those five monks were all Return to Void Stage mighty figures. They still retained their basic constitution and battle experience, so it would not be wise for An Lin to engage them in a battle.
The heavenly peaches weren’t over there anyway, so there was no point in battling them.
“Oi! Why are you still chasing me? Can’t you lure some other idiot?” An Lin was about to have a mental break down. He had been chased for over a kilometer!
“One of our Buddhist mantras in the Buddhist Kingdom is to be determined and to finish everything that we do,” a monk said with a serious expression.
“This is the persistence that is necessary for us to refine our hearts!” another monk chimed in.
“We will not give up unless we reach our target!” a younger monk continued with a scorching light in his eyes.
The eldest monk had his eyes closed and his palms together, but he was the fastest of them all. “Amitabha, Benefactor An Lin, just give up!”
An Lin felt as if ten thousand mythological beasts were stampeding through his heart.
Was this a bunch of monks or a bunch of nutjobs?!
Not only were they unwilling to let him go, but they were also making all of these excuses to make it seem like what they were doing was for a noble cause!
An Lin continued to flee, and the five monks continued to give chase…
Elsewhere.
“F*ck you, Hong Dou! I didn’t even tell you to go! What the f*ck is wrong with you? Look at the situation now, we’re both screwed!”
A spinning top hurled abuse at the rock golem beside it.
Hong Dou recoiled slightly. “I… it’s not like we can’t beat that thing.”
“Then go beat it!” The spinning top flared up with rage.
Behind them was a massive, double-headed dragon over a hundred feet long. It opened its cavernous mouth, and a boundless wave of scorching flames erupted forth!
Hong Dou: “…”
A black shadow suddenly appeared from nearby.
Hong Dou focused his gaze and was ecstatic to find that it was an ally. “Mr. An Lin, what a coincidence! Come save me!”
An Lin: “Motherf*cker!”
