Chapter 1176: Clash Between the Two Dragon Tribe Top Dogs
Ao Xiaowu thrust her spear toward the Ancient Dragon Empress. A silver spear projection pierced through heaven and earth, and this one was even more powerful than the one that had punctured Lun Yu Evil Dragon!
This Dragon Tribe top dog usually liked to sleep her days away, but when she got serious, she was a truly frightening force to be reckoned with!
The Ancient Dragon Empress looked at the approaching spear projection, and the red power of the divine dao began to appear.
“Pain of slau—”
Before she even had a chance to utter the name of her spell technique, Ao Xiaowu suddenly retreated to over ten kilometers away. However, her spear projection did not let up as it pierced through a distance of over ten kilometers, en route to the Ancient Dragon Empress’ heart!
A hint of surprise appeared on the Ancient Dragon Empress’ face upon seeing Ao Xiaowu’s flexible change in tactics.
“Pain of the Cage.”
The power of her divine dao materialized a massive golden bell in front of her.
Ao Xiaowu’s spear projection struck the massive golden bell, upon which an extremely terrifying screeching sound erupted, and countless cracks soon appeared on the surface of the massive golden bell.
This attack was astonishingly powerful, but it was still insufficient to break through the Ancient Dragon Empress’ defenses.
The spear projection dissipated.
The Ancient Dragon Empress turned toward Ao Xiaowu to discover that she had already drawn her spear back in preparation for the next strike.
The Ancient Dragon Empress’ expression shifted drastically as she hurtled back in retreat.
Ao Xiaowu thrust her spear forward, and over a hundred spear projection erupted forth in a split second, sealing away any potential avenues of evasion for the Ancient Dragon Empress!
“Pain of Horror.”
A black power of her divine dao appeared on her two hands.
The Ancient Dragon Empress’ hands were transformed into a pair of indestructible weapons, and she retracted as she swatted at Ao Xiaowu’s spear projections, creating violent collisions which made the space around them crumble and collapse.
“Oi oi… Is this a joke? Our empress is being forced onto the back foot by that Dragon Tribe woman?” Mei Gui Evil Dragon’s eyes widened in shock.
“That Dragon Tribe cultivator is extremely powerful.”
Lun Yu Evil Dragon spoke as he battled Long Aotian.

Lun Yu Evil Dragon and Long Aotian were both injured, so they ended up fighting each other.
The Ancient Dragon Empress wasn’t actually being forced onto the back foot. She simply hadn’t made up her mind on what power to use against Ao Xiaowu, which was why she was going on the defensive to give herself time to think.
Ao Xiaowu was undoubtedly an extremely seasoned warrior.
Not only could she predict the enemy’s movements and gain the initiative as a result, but she had also identified the Ancient Dragon Empress’ weakness extremely quickly, and that was the speed of her spell casting!
Each and every one of the Ancient Dragon Empress’ techniques was extremely powerful, but they all required time to be unleashed.
This tiny sliver of delay might not be enough to be decisive for most mighty figures. However, to Ao Xiaowu, this was the key to victory as she could win by capitalizing on her speed advantage!
If an ordinary mighty figure tried to speed up their attacks in order to prevent the Ancient Dragon Empress from unleashing her spell techniques, she would just disregard the attacks and insta-kill them. However, Ao Xiaowu was different. Her attacks were not only fast, but they were also lethal!
If the Ancient Dragon Empress disregarded Ao Xiaowu’s spear strikes and tried to shed some bloody tears now, her heart would probably be bleeding from a spear strike before her eyes had a chance to bleed…
She and Ao Xiaowu fell into a tense battle.
The three evil dragons were also unable to do anything to help her as they were caught in battles of their own.
Huan Meng Evil Dragon tried to use its divine dao domain to drag Xiao Ze into a realistic dream realm. However, Xiao Ze materialized a shield that was able to even repel its power of the dream divine dao.
Without its most powerful technique, Huan Meng Evil Dragon had no choice but to engage in a melee battle with Xiao Ze.
This placed it at a massive disadvantage as Xiao Ze had the thickest skin among all of the mighty figures present!
It had tried to escape, but Xiao Ze had an acceleration mystic technique that always allowed him to cut it off in time.
Meanwhile, An Lin and Xu Xiaolan’s partnership was steamrolling Mei Gui Evil Dragon.
“Roses, roses, let me show you why roses are so red!” An Lin activated his Fire God Mode and launched brutal attacks against Mei Gui Evil Dragon as he spoke.

“This dragon is very beautiful, so we definitely can’t let it live!” Xu Xiaolan’s sword techniques were extremely exquisite, and each and every sword strike was imbued with the overwhelming powers of the True Dragon and the Vermilion Bird, which were enough to tear through Mei Gui Evil Dragon’s scales.
Mei Gui Evil Dragon was about to have a mental breakdown. It was fighting two nutjobs!
Why was it that it had to die because it was beautiful? What kind of logic was this?
No one answered its questions. Perhaps these were only errant words spoken by An Lin and Xu Xiaolan in the heat of the moment.
Right at this moment, a violent, tearing sound suddenly erupted throughout heaven and earth.
Ao Xiaowu had pierced through one of the Ancient Dragon Empress’ hands with her silver spear!
Blood flew through the air, but the Ancient Dragon Empress took this opportunity to lock the tip of the spear in a vice-like grip.
At the same time, the Ancient Dragon Empress chopped down upon the silver spear with her other hand, which was imbued with an extremely terrifying power of her divine dao!
Bam!
An explosive sound erupted.
Ao Xiaowu’s spear, which was imbued with her power of the divine dao, was chopped in half by the Ancient Dragon Empress using her bare hands!
Ao Xiaowu hurtled back in retreat and stared at her snapped silver spear with wide eyes that were filled with shock. “Are you for real? You snapped a high-rank spirit tool just like that?”
“Let’s see how you’re going to fight now!” the Ancient Dragon Empress spoke in a frosty voice.
In the next instant, the hair on the back of the Ancient Dragon Empress’ neck stood on end.
A delicate fist suddenly appeared before her.
This fist… gave her an overwhelming sense of fear!
The Ancient Dragon Empress reflexively launched a palm toward the fist, upon which she was knocked back like a cannonball for over ten kilometers!
“How could this be? How could you possess such powerful strength?” The Ancient Dragon Empress’ entire arm was numb as she stared at Ao Xiaowu incredulously.
If it weren’t for the fact that her palm was imbued with the power of the divine dao, her entire arm would have been disabled by that punch.
“I… I didn’t say that I specialized in using spears. I only used a spear… to commemorate my seventh brother…” Ao Xiaowu’s eyes were closed, and she murmured to herself as if she were sleeptalking.
The Ancient Dragon Empress’ mouth gaped open, and she felt like she was going to throw up a mouthful of blood.
So her efforts to snap that spear had all been in vain?
“Your current state is very strange. The divine dao is somehow fusing together and resonating with your body…” The Ancient Dragon Empress’ crimson eyes narrowed slightly as a grave expression appeared on her face.
Ao Xiaowu’s body began to sway and wobble as she murmured, “My divine dao is sleeping. The deeper I sleep, the more powerful I am. When I’m completely asleep… I’ll be invincible…
“That way, I can conserve my energy during battle. I don’t even have to think to move. How about it… Am I super impressive or what…”
The Ancient Dragon Empress was completely astonished by Ao Xiaowu’s words. How much did she have to love sleeping to attain this type of power of the divine dao?!
Just as she was caught in a stunned stupor, Ao Xiaowu stepped forward and activated her spatial skipping technique to appear instantly before the Ancient Dragon Empress, upon which she launched a mundane fist.
This was an extremely simple punch, but it didn’t seem to have been unleashed by a living being. Instead, it was as if the punch was a manifestation of the power of heaven and earth and its intent realm was very simple as well—I’m going to punch you to death!
The Ancient Dragon Empress found that she couldn’t evade this punch, so she could only launch a punch of her own in response. At the same time, she activated her power of the divine dao to the very maximum, in order to make her fist as resolute as possible.
Boom!
The fists collided.
There was an instant when heaven and earth fell deathly silent.
The sickening crunch of bones being pulverized erupted.
Immediately afterward, the Ancient Dragon Empress hurtled back through the air like a cannonball, as if she had just been severely wounded!

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
