Chapter 1123: Encountering a Colossus on the Ocean
An Lin’s request could be said to be quite a shameless one.
The Evil-Slaying Sword didn’t remain silent this time. “Nurturing a spirit not only requires a certain level of observation in the dao of the sword on your part, what’s even more important is a powerful source of energy for the sword.
“I already have a spirit, but I’m unable to be born as a true living being as I lack the energy to materialize a spirit body…”
An Lin was excited to hear this. “Then how can I provide energy to you?”
“If I knew, I would’ve told you a long time ago,” the Evil-Slaying Sword replied in an indifferent voice.
An Lin faltered slightly.
“Immortal tools that have successfully nurtured spirits are extremely rare in this world, and all of them nurtured their spirits through countless different methods.
“I had initially thought that the method for me to nurture a spirit would be to slay a powerful being from the Dark Wing Tribe and absorb their energy. However, looking at it now, it’s either the case that the Dark Wing Tribe powerful beings we’ve encountered have been too weak, or this isn’t even the right way to go in the first place.”
The Evil-Slaying Sword seemed to have never said so much in one go before, and it was panting a little at the end.
An Lin: “So the Dark Wing Tribe beings we’ve encountered are too weak? How strong do they have to be to satisfy you?”
The Evil-Slaying Sword paused momentarily before replying, “At the very least, it has to be above the Moonlit Night Monarch’s level. Maybe you can try killing the Dao Integration Stage Dark Wing Emperor?”
An Lin gaped upon hearing this.
Maybe you can try killing the Dao Integration Stage Dark Wing Emperor?
Why was it making this sound like it was supposed to be a simple task?!
“Hehe… You sure do have a sense of humor.” An Lin’s lips twitched.
A Soul Formation Stage cultivator killing a Dao Integration Stage super mighty figure?
Even the most audacious authors wouldn’t dare to write a story like this!

The Dark Wing Emperor could probably slap him into oblivion with a single palm!
No, he definitely wouldn’t be able to conduct an experiment like that…
The Evil-Slaying Sword said in an indifferent voice, “Are you scared? That’s fair enough. I don’t want to talk anymore. I’m too tired, and I need to sleep.”
Thus, the Evil-Slaying Sword ignored An Lin again and began to rest.
An Lin couldn’t do anything but heave a resigned sigh.
He had a target now at the very least. He would just have to try and find an opportunity to kill the Dark Wing Emperor.
F*ck! Just thinking about it was quite a scary notion!
He and Xu Xiaolan explored the entirety of Bo Lan City before finding a seafood restaurant to sample the cuisine here. In Xu Xiaolan’s words, sampling cuisine all over the world was not only an enjoyable process, but it was also a process from which she could derive inspiration for her own cooking.
It had to be said that Xu Xiaolan was becoming more and more like a professional chef.
“Hey, I’m not sure if you’ve heard this, but there have been thunderstorms raging in the South Snake Sea Realm for an entire twenty consecutive days. Apparently, some sort of terrifying demonic creature or object is about to appear there!”
A big pearl person standing at about half the height of a grown man drank some soup as it spoke.
Another blackish pearl was shocked to hear this. “The area of the sea where I do my fishing isn’t all that far away from there!”
“Thunderstorms? Doesn’t this always happen at the South Snake Sea Realm once a decade?” A third pearl who was more knowledgeable about the sea around this area joined in on the conversation.
An Lin and his team all fell silent and eavesdropped on this conversation.
Heavenly Dragon Island was also situated within the South Snake Sea Realm.
At this moment, a fourth pristine white female pearl wearing a black eyepatch interjected, “It’s not quite the same this time. The thunderstorms encompass a larger area than in the past and have persisted for an extremely long time. There is definitely something abnormal there!

“There was a group of adventurers led by a Spirit Nurturing Stage powerful being that ventured into those thunderstorms, but they still haven’t come back. They’re probably all fish food now.”
The expressions on all of the pearl people darkened, which was reflected by their white, pristine faces turning a little black.
Of course, it was impossible to see what that blackish pearl thought about this news.
Xu Xiaolan transmitted her voice to An Lin.
“It looks like the situation this time is a little bit different. Should we go and have a look?”
Their initial plan was to explore the surrounding area first, but after hearing about the abnormal phenomenon taking place in the South Snake Sea Realm, it looked like a change of plans was on the cards.
An Lin nodded. “Alright, let’s go there a bit earlier.”
After enjoying a massive seafood feast, they arrived on the beach before rising into the air and flying toward the location indicated by Bei Lian’s coordinates.
The marine mutant beasts posed no threat at all to An Lin’s team.
They were like an unstoppable force, leaving a trail of slaughter in their wake.
An hour later, an area with turbulent lightning clouds began to appear before their eyes.
Dense and inky-black clouds stretched for as far as the eyes could see, obscuring the sun and plunging everything into darkness.
Gale-force winds swept for hundreds of kilometers as heavy rain cascaded into the ocean below. Huge waves surged while countless purple bolts of lightning flashed in the clouds above, accompanied by bursts of booming thunder.
This was most likely the phenomenon indicating the imminent emergence of Heavenly Dragon Island.
“Little Na, cast your concealment divine technique over all of us first!” An Lin instructed.
“No problem!” Tina spread open her tiny hands. A transparent barrier soon enshrouded everyone, completely concealing their auras.
Each and every one of Tina’s self-made divine techniques was super bad*ss, and this concealment technique could easily help them escape detection from Return to Void Stage mighty figures.
Everyone progressed toward the location indicated by the coordinates under the cover of the spell technique.
“Howl!”
An earth-shattering roar suddenly erupted from a distance.
An Lin and Xu Xiaolan looked at each other before picking up the pace.
The direction the roar was coming from was the exact same direction where Heavenly Dragon Island was located!
Not long after this, a gargantuan black figure appeared in their line of sight. The creature possessed a pair of crimson eyes, which were like two specks of demonic candlelight in the darkness, striking its onlookers with a sense of fear.
“Senior, please let my son go.”
A beseeching voice suddenly sounded.
Immediately afterward, a huge black dragon rose into the sky to face the gargantuan black figure.
An Lin immediately figured out who it was from hearing the black dragon’s voice. He turned to the woman beside him. “It’s your grandfather.”
Xu Xiaolan heaved a faint sigh. “It looks like something big is about to happen. We sure came at the right time.”
The gargantuan black figure slowly appeared before everyone.
It was simply too big, so big that everyone could only look up at it in awe!
“Such a big, big turtle! Such a big, big mountain!” Tina exclaimed.
The little fairy lacked the vocabulary to help express her astonishment, so she could only use big twice in succession to describe the creature before them!
That’s right, the creature they were looking at was a gargantuan turtle.
How big was it? Its body stretched for over a hundred and fifty kilometers, and it was like a gigantic, insurmountable wall that parted the entire ocean. Its turtle shell was the size of a continent, upon which stood a colossal mountain over fifty kilometers tall that reached well into the clouds above!
“No, that’s not a turtle. It has the head of a dragon and the body of a turtle!” An Lin corrected.
“Maybe it’s a dragon that learned your Evading Turtle Technique?” Xu Xiaolan suggested with an amused smile.
An Lin: “… Xiaolan, you’ve changed.”
What a scathing remark!
Xiao Ze gave the most plausible suggestion.
“Master, the living being before us… It appears to be the only mythological beast that was born from when my Dragon Tribe ancestor reproduced with a Heavenly Turtle Tribe ancestor. It is the mythological beast Ba Xia, which possesses both the dragon and turtle bloodlines!”

Besides he'd been getting on in years when it happened, and his life till then, though lonely, had more or less been fully lived. The second time around when that one guy pushed him off a cliff for a chalice of immortal ambrosia, wasn't so cool though, and then there was that third time when he was just getting used to life as a lady, and that crazy goddess showed up out of nowhere and started ranting about purging the demon menace....then some other stuff happened and he briefly got to go back to earth before falling into a coma where he adventured in the world of dreams. Then the aliens came, and the dream ended and he was suddenly stuck being the AI Overmind for the whole damn star systm. The aliens died, and because he was all mechanical and what-not he just kind of had to keep on going. Then there was that whole war with the gods business that followed...mostly because of all that world destroying he did because of some fairly faulty programming. Anyway, thankfully someone pulled a "rocks fall" on that whole curfuffle, because by the time he was in control of himself again, things had long gotten out of hand.
