Chapter 815: The Perfect Kirin Blood Jade
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
The light glowing from the blood jade was sucked away by a black spell formation that guided the power toward the roof of the building before releasing it outside.
An Lin felt like the crimson light enshrouding this entire continent most likely came from this blood jade. He could detect an incredibly vast amount of power within the blood jade.
The golden groundhog had also seen it before, but it didn’t even have a chance to try and grab it before it almost died.
After seeing it again, it stood obediently on the spot as it tried to repress the impulse to make a lunge for the blood jade.
As for the frog and Ao Niu, both of them were too scared to even say anything.
They were the only ones that hadn’t been assigned a duty by the middle-aged man. In fact, they hadn’t even been mentioned. In the face of this emotionally unstable mighty figure, they were trying as best as they could to conceal their existence in the hope that they would continue to be ignored!
“Do you all think that this is the Kirin Blood Jade?” The corners of the middle-aged man’s eyes crinkled up in a warm smile.
Everyone remained silent.
The middle-aged man waved his hand, and the blood jade trembled lightly before flying toward the middle-aged man’s hand, where it floated and emitted a warm, red glow, as if it was the most perfect piece of jade in this world.
The dazzling red light at the top of the mushroom building suddenly disappeared, and the entire floating continent completely dimmed. In the starry sky, the blood star suddenly disappeared.
“That’s right, it is the Kirin Blood Jade,” the middle-aged man confirmed.
“Gasp…” Everyone drew another sharp intake of breath as they stared at the blood jade with scorching light glowing from their eyes.
The Kirin Blood Jade was the manifestation of the mythological beast, the Kirin’s power, and its dao intent. This was a treasure even Dao Integration Stage cultivators sought after!

“Senior, didn’t you say that the Kirin Blood Jade would only be born following the death of a Kirin? Then why are you…” An Lin couldn’t help but inquire.
“Because I died!” The middle-aged man maintained his warm expression as he looked around at everyone. “But then I revived!”
An Lin: “…”
“But my current life has a dependency.” The middle-aged man stroked the blood jake in his hand as he explained in a slow voice, “I’m not afraid to tell you this; I resurrected myself through the use of a mystic technique, but my survival is now dependent on this blood jade.”
The blood jade was about the size of a goose egg, and it was absolutely flawless. It exuded an alluring glow, and one could sense an abundance of dao intent, energy, and even intelligence from it, as if it was the most perfect gem.
The middle-aged man was quite pleased upon seeing the yearning in everyone’s eyes. “It could be said that this Kirin Blood Jade is my body. Isn’t the blood jade that was materialized after my death beautiful?”
Everyone: “…”
An Lin felt like there was something wrong with this question, but he couldn’t quite put a finger on it.
Speaking of which, why was this middle-aged man so excited to display the manifestation of his death to everyone else?
The middle-aged man was also seemingly entranced by the beauty of his blood jade. “The more powerful a Kirin is, the more perfect their blood jade will be after they die. This blood jade is the most perfect blood jade I’ve ever seen!”
Everyone: “…”
“Bad*ss!” The frog finally found a chance to deliver some flattery.
The middle-aged man ignored it, but his expression gradually became more ferocious. “Countless living beings yearn for my blood jade, but do they have what it takes to own this blood jade?”
He looked up at everyone. “They’re not worthy! There is no existence in this world that is worthy of owning such a perfect blood jade!”

The middle-aged man waved a hand, and the Kirin Blood Jade flew toward the golden groundhog. The might of a mythological beast exuding from the blood jade instantly had the groundhog turning pale in fear, and its legs almost gave out from under it.
“You possess the inheritance of the true intent of sabers from a mythological beast, and you possess the Myriad Beast Holy Soul, but you’re not worthy!”
He waved his hand again, and the blood jade flew toward Xu Xiaolan. Red ripples proliferated forth, and Xu Xiaolan felt as if she were being confronted by an almighty mythological beast as her body trembled, and she took a backward step.
“You possess the bloodlines of the True Dragon and the Vermilion Bird, and your aptitude in the way of the sword is among the best in this world, but you are still unworthy!”
He waved his hand again, and the blood jade flew toward An Lin.
In that instant, An Lin felt as if he had just seen a mythological beast that had slaughtered an entire continent. It bared its fangs as a suffocating aura erupted forth, striking An Lin with a powerful sense of asphyxiation.
The aura of the Demonic Blood Kirin erupted forth and An Lin’s heart skipped a beat as an instinctive sense of fear welled up in his heart.
“You have attained the extraordinary true intent in the way of the sword at the Soul Formation Intermediate Stage. You attained an incredibly divine body and your aptitude is unheard of in this world, but you are also unworthy!”
The middle-aged man’s expression was the epitome of arrogance. “There is no one else in this world who is worthy of such a perfect blood jade! The blood jade won’t acknowledge them, so absorbing the power of the blood jade is just an overambitious dream to them!
“The only person in this world worthy of this blood jade is me!”
The middle-aged man’s voice grew louder and more animated as he spoke, while everyone’s expression darkened.
F*ck off! Was all that just a massive flex?
Was he expecting everyone here to suck him off?!
The middle-aged man was extremely satisfied after delivering that rambling tirade. Countless pieces of trash had been yearning for his blood jade, and now that he had all these prodigies gathered here, he simply had to deliver this flexing speech in order to show them what true power and pride was.
However, a sudden development caught him off guard.
This was the sound of someone retching.
An Lin: “Eurgh…”
The middle-aged man’s face convulsed. Was this provocation?
This had to be provocation!
He was expressing his disdain by making this insulting gesture!
Even Xu Xiaolan was a little frightened by what An Lin was doing.
“You’re throwing up from hearing what I just said?” Just as the middle-aged man was about to flare up, An Lin retched again.
An Lin: “Eurgh…”
This time, a golden baby with a white cape on his back suddenly flew from his mouth!
The middle-aged man’s pupils contracted upon seeing this.
The frog, groundhog, and Ao Niu’s mouths all gaped open in shock.
They didn’t even get a chance to react before the golden baby opened his mouth and swallowed the Kirin Blood Jade!
Rumble…
The golden baby swallowed the Kirin Blood Jade, but he did not seem to be satisfied as he patted his stomach. “Burp…”
Deathly silence ensued.
Not only were the beasts all completely dumbfounded, but even An Lin and Xu Xiaolan were also staring at the golden baby in shock. The golden baby was none other than the An Kirin who had not appeared in this form for a long time…
The middle-aged man’s lips trembled as his proud facade shattered, as if he was unable to comprehend what had just happened. “You, I… Where is my blood jade?!”

Trailblazer
The story of a man who accidentally wrote another world into existence. Everyone breaks away from their mundane daily life in one way or another. Our protagonist, an unfortunate consequence of circumstance, being no different, often escaped the harsh reality of life by writing stories of an alternate world of swords and magic. Though he recognized the difference between reality and fantasy, he could've never imagined what would happen, when the line between the two blurred as lightning struck down from the skies, and his escapism fantasy became all too real... After he came to, he would soon learn that things in the other world aren't quite as he remembered them to be. The world he wrote of had become but a shadow of its former self. Albeit hesitant at first, he sets off on a quest to find out the secrets behind the Trails, yet even then, he can't help but wonder... Can he really bring his world back to its old glory? —————————— I have never written a story before in my life and now I'm doing so in a language I don't natively speak. Groundbreaking quality is probably not something to be expected, but I do my best to keep things readable. With the necessities out of the way, both constructive criticism and other suggestions are very much welcome, and I'll do my best to take them into account when writing future chapters.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
