Chapter 721: To Cross or Not to Cross

An Lin, Dong Guo, and Da Bai ended up on the other side of the green gate under mysterious circumstances.

Dong Guo looked around at the smooth and even ground and walls, as well as the green flames that glowed like lanterns along the way. “Master, I think something is amiss here!”

An Lin rolled his eyes at him. “Why do you say so much useless crap?”

Thus, the three of them continued onward. The temperature rose steadily from about two hundred degrees to close to a thousand degrees. Even the rock formations around them were red hot as a result of the absurd temperatures.

An Lin turned toward him with a speechless expression. “What are you thinking about all day? Can’t you just be quiet?”

Dong Guo smiled sheepishly and didn’t say anything.

It wasn’t hard for him to just walk silently and look pretty.

After all, he was quite a handsome man. Even though he wasn’t as intimidating, he definitely trumped An Lin in the looks department.

An Lin didn’t know what Dong Guo was thinking, otherwise, he would have given him another pummeling.

A super light particle energy beam suddenly appeared before their eyes.

This energy beam was like the sharpest sword as it pierced through the air and parted space, making onlookers falter in their footsteps.

“What a terrifying energy formation. Even a Return to Void Stage body wouldn’t be able to endure such high-density energy!” Dong Guo exclaimed in shock.

“Can your spatial manipulation powers divert this energy beam?” An Lin asked.

Dong Guo raised his hand high into the air, and an invisible spatial barrier materialized within the field of energy beam. However, what followed was the sound of glass shattering as everything went back to normal.

“No, this energy is too powerful!” Dong Guo exclaimed in shock.

An Lin: “…”

It was his fault for asking Dong Guo in the first place. He was a useless piece of sh*t after all!

However, just as An Lin was considering how to bypass this energy formation, the beam of energy suddenly disappeared of its own accord.

What remained was an empty passageway.

All three of them faltered upon seeing this.

“What happened? Did it run out of power?” Dong Guo exclaimed in shock again.

An Lin: “…”

Da Bai: “…”

“I think you can try to walk through it and see if it really has run out of power,” An Lin suggested expressionlessly.

“No, no, no, this could be a trap! I can’t do that!” Dong Guo shook his head vigorously.

“I thought you didn’t know.” An Lin rolled his eyes.

Dong Guo’s chest constricted upon hearing this. Just how inept was he in An Lin’s eyes?

“What do we do now? Woof!” Da Bai was a little nervous.

The current situation was that there appeared to be no longer any danger.

However, the sudden absence of danger placed them at a loss for what to do as all of them were concerned that this would be a trap to lure them in before getting rid of them in one fell swoop.

“Perhaps she’s trying to clear the way for us,” An Lin analyzed.

“Hmm, Master, I think you’re right!” Dong Guo agreed.

“Alright, seeing as you agree to this as well, then you go on ahead; we’ll be right behind you!” An Lin encouraged.

Just as all three of them were trying to decide on a course of action, a silver figure suddenly appeared before them.

“Brother Gundam is here!” An Lin exclaimed in elation.

Dong Guo looked behind the silver Gundam with a cautious expression and only heaved a sigh of relief upon discovering none of the mighty figures that were pursuing them.

The silver Gundam turned to An Lin and the others before instructing in a mechanical, professional voice, “Come with me.”

It immediately began to fly forward as it spoke.

It had to be said, the Gundam gave all three of them a strong sense of security.

All three of them looked at each other before gritting their teeth and following the Gundam!

As An Lin and the others continued forward behind the Gundam, the green light gradually grew brighter. They encountered a few crossroads on the way, but all of them followed the Gundam without hesitation.

Soon, they came to an exit, which led to an extremely cavernous area.

This was an extremely large space with length, width, and height all in excess of three kilometers. However, close to a kilometer of the ground was a pit of glowing green lava from which extremely fearsome temperatures exuded.

Within this cavernous space, directly above the green lava, there was a floating platform that was protected by a blue barrier.

A lithe and graceful woman in a flowing white robe had her hands pressed tightly to a white ball of light, and her brows were tightly furrowed. It was as if she was enduring an intense conflict.

A smile appeared on An Lin’s face upon seeing this familiar figure. “It was you, after all, Bai Ling. We meet again!”

The woman didn’t turn around to look at them, but a voice transmission sounded in his mind.

“Be careful, An Lin, there’s an enemy present!”

An Lin immediately unleashed his divine sense to its maximum capacity the instant he heard this warning.

It was also in that split second that a sense of impending doom engulfed his body, making him shudder from the biting chill.

As he had unleashed his divine sense, he was only able to make a tiny adjustment of his body position before an inky-black saber projection pierced through his body.

The black saber projection that had been stained crimson upon exiting his body gave off an extremely menacing aura.
