Chapter 654: Turning the Tables
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
“Did Laden just fart?”
“He didn’t fart; he shat himself…”
“Nonsense! He clearly sharted!”
“Wow. So even mighty figures at the Return to Void Pinnacle Stage defecate… I had always thought that mighty figures like them wouldn’t need to sh*t!”
Xuanyuan Cheng rolled his eyes at the student that had just said this. “After reaching the Soul Formation Stage, cultivators would be able to absorb all the essence within the food they consume and expel the waste matter in the form of energy. As such, the matter that Laden has just expelled was some sort of substance within his body that is not poo!”
Sword Immortal Ling Xiao nodded with admiration on his face. “To be able to inflict gastrointestinal discomfort upon a mighty figure of this level… Student An Lin truly is a supremely talented cultivator!”
Xu Xiaolan’s brows furrowed as she wondered to herself how An Lin had mastered such a disgusting spell technique.
Just as everyone gathered on the city wall were discussing among themselves, Laden’s rage had reached a boiling point.
His stomach was still churning, but he had suppressed it with his power. Thus, the humiliation he was experiencing was much more severe than the physical discomfort.
After all, anyone would be humiliated after sharting in front of so many onlookers.
He had already made up his mind. Everyone who had seen him shart had to die!
“I’ll kill you!” Laden gritted his teeth in rage as the Blood Star Sword trembled before flying toward An Lin.
It was at that moment that An Lin’s storage ring flashed, and a black brick suddenly appeared before him.
The red sword sliced through the air, parting the entire night sky.
This was a monstrous attack that was even capable of slaying a Return to Void Stage mighty figure!
At that moment, everyone stared in the direction the crimson sword had flown toward with bated breath.
An Lin was extremely powerful in their hearts, but no one was guaranteed to be invincible. He could still be injured and even killed. In the face of such a powerful foe, there was no guarantee that he would survive the battle.

However, everyone instantly erupted into raucous cheers at the sight of the massive black brick, which did not even have a scratch on its surface.
Xu Xiaolan and the others all heaved a sigh of relief. They were quite familiar with how hard that brick was.
Sure enough, An Lin’s head poked out from above the black brick as he aimed a smirk at Laden.
To Laden, that smirk was extremely humiliating!
He was a super mighty figure at the Return to Void Pinnacle Stage, but he was being taunted like this by a mere Soul Formation Stage cultivator. How was he supposed to remain calm in the face of such humiliation?!
“I am going to kill you!” His eyes were burning with fury.
Right at this moment, Laden suddenly recalled the sorrow that he felt because of the death of his true love, he recalled the humiliation that he had suffered at the hands of a certain powerful being when he was in his youth, he recalled the heartwrenching grief when his mother was swallowed by a giant dragon, and he began to empathize with the autumn leaves that fell to the ground, only to be buried and forgotten…
Boundless sadness welled up in his heart as he broke down in tears.
“Waah!”
Glittering and translucent tears began to flow down his cheeks.
Heaven and earth fell deathly silent with the exception of Laden’s anguished wails.
All the students and soldiers on the city wall were completely dumbstruck.
“Is… is Laden crying?”
“He did have an arm amputated by God An, sharted, and was subsequently unable to injure God An with his attack. All these are pretty embarrassing, but it doesn’t warrant breaking down in tears like this! Where is his dignity as one of the most powerful beings of the Blood Tribe?!”
“I’m starting to feel a little sympathy toward Laden…”
“Shock! A Blood Tribe mighty figure at the Return to Void Pinnacle Stage was reduced to tears by An Lin! What could be the reason behind such a startling development?”

“He has already been reduced to tears, so An Lin must be on the brink of victory!”
…
Most of the students felt like An Lin had gained the firm upper hand and had this battle in the bag.
However, An Lin knew that he had completely exhausted his bag of tricks…
He had already used all the distraction spell techniques that could act directly on Laden. As for offensive spell techniques?
How were his paltry offensive spell techniques supposed to do anything to Laden?
This was like An Lin being attacked by a Soul Formation Stage cultivator. His opponent in that case simply wouldn’t stand a chance!
He could still use his Divine Plunder Technique, but he had to be within a hundred meters from Laden to unleash that spell technique.
At An Lin’s current location, he was probably more than a kilometer away from Laden…
Laden finally suppressed his tears through astonishing force of will and was just about to attack An Lin again.
“Howl!” Xiao Ze was reinvigorated as he threw himself toward Laden.
“F*ck off!” Laden’s flaming wrath was unleashed in full force as he sent a palm flying toward Xiao Ze.
A massive crimson palm appeared in the air again before swatting Xiao Ze into the ground.
An Lin was starting to feel quite distressed. He was not trying to defeat Laden. Instead, he wanted to stall for time until the arrival of the Heavenly Court reinforcements. However, it had been ten whole minutes already, but the Heavenly Court reinforcements were still nowhere to be seen.
Laden had initially harbored most of his ill will toward Xiao Ze as he thought Xiao Ze had slain his subordinate.
However, his target had now switched to the Soul Formation Stage cultivator that had managed to humiliate him over and over again. He was absolutely determined to slaughter An Lin!
Laden clutched at the air in An Lin’s direction, causing the space within a radius of five kilometers from An Lin to be instantly congealed, so much so that even the molecules in the air had completely ceased to move.
He stepped forward, and his body transformed into a streak of crimson light as he abruptly charged toward An Lin.
An Lin’s body had been immobilized by the monstrous spatial sealing force around him, but the Realm-Piercing Nail he had hidden up his sleeve was already glowing with a dazzling red light as it attempted to shatter the spatial seal.
However, even the Realm-Piercing Nail was unable to shatter the spatial seal around him this time!
This was the first time An Lin had encountered a situation like this and despair welled up in his heart.
Laden’s strength was simply overwhelming, and there was nothing that he could do.
An Lin stared at the approaching streak of crimson light, and he felt like he was completely and utterly screwed…
All the onlookers atop the city wall clenched their fists tightly as they prayed for An Lin in their hearts.
“Leave him alone!”
Right at this moment, a thunderous voice suddenly erupted.
The Heavenly Court reinforcements had finally arrived!
An Lin, Xiao Ze, and all the onlookers atop the city wall were ecstatic upon hearing this voice.
A man with delicate features and pink rouge on his lips transformed into a white streak of light as he flew directly toward Laden with a vast aura emanating from his body.
“F*ck off!” Laden extended an enraged palm toward the white streak of light.
The crimson palm tore through space before instantly crashing into the white streak of light with monstrous force.
Boom!
A resounding boom erupted.
“Ahhhh…”
The man was knocked flying by the crimson palm as the sound of his anguished cry reverberated between heaven and earth.
An Lin: “…”
All the onlookers on the city wall: “…”

Blood Demon's Retirement
Civil War had raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor. This is not his story. The Blood Demon, renowned general of said civil war, was tired of all the fighting and politicking that had described the last four decades of her existence. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories. Thus she retired, and went and did exactly what she wanted. This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace. Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday. First time posting a story on Royal Road here, hoping you folks will enjoy. Expect: -slow going slice of life with occassional faster paced action -world building -detailed anecdotes on the world, its races, the magic system, and whatnot every now and then Do not expect: -romance, other than maybe some passing mentions -politics, again, barring passing mentions Any comments, reviews, and criticism will be much appreciated. And thank you for reading. ---------------------------- Disclaimer: This story is my original work and only posted on the Royal Road and Scribblehub websites. If you should find this story elsewhere or under another name, please let me know. Also please don't be too hard on me when I make occasional grammatical mistakes, English is my third language after all. XD Edit suggestions are very welcome though. Discord

Fire and Shadows. Legend of the breaker. (Hiatus until ??)
Traditions lost, books burned, ancient knowledge forever spurned. It began with fire, the great Sirionean, all dominating desert creating pyre. And it ended thusly just aswell, t'was the great Empire's deathknell. The crackling of the burning books, dangling corpses on rusty hooks. The yellow streets of Heabury proper, colored red with human copper. -? S.V, Scholar of Dawn.' -- Author note: Hi, SeV here. I'm not a fan of writing my entire story premise in the synopsis. For that, read the prologue and chapter 1. Suffice it to say that I think it's a cool idea and I already have a few things planned and a world sort of formed in my mind. I like Epic fantasy, lightnovels with OP MCs, Litrpg, sci-fi, any many other things. This story is written for myself, so it may include all sorts of diffent elements and character interactions and even experimental things that I'm trying out as a writer in order to improve. My intention with this is to pretty much post as I write, and acquire feedback from you folks in the process. I of course hope you like my story, but feel free to criticize anything since this is a project to improve myself. Even if it isn't strictly criticism, any feedback positive or negative is welcome since I am interested in what other people think of my writing style and what I can improve on. Since it's growing generically I'll be interested in your thoughts and speculations on future events and any suggestions moving forward will be taken into consideration. Hope you enjoy my stuff. - SeV
