Chapter 639: An Lin’s True Strength
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
Underling?
The Dark Poison Lord was slightly dazed. His hearing wasn’t bad, and he had heard An Lin’s words loud and clear.
It was because of this that he was all the more baffled.
That human cultivator is complaining that I’m too weak? And he wants to take me in as an underling?!
“Dark Poison Lord, that human cultivator has most likely gone insane. Let me capture him for you!” There was a look of fury on the City Lord’s face as he spoke.
He was a powerful being of the Soul Formation Final Stage, and after seeing An Lin—who was of the Soul Formation Intermediate Stage—speak so arrogantly, he wanted to seize the chance to please the Dark Poison Lord.
“No need,” the Dark Poison Lord said expressionlessly. A cruel glint flashed across his eyes. “I’ll deal with him personally. I’ll have him understand the taste of living hell.”
He stamped his feet, and bone-chilling winds as well as poisonous mists instantly swept through the sky. A crushing might enveloped the space and almost threw the Blood Tribe soldiers and students off of their feet.
Tina was standing in front of An Lin with an immortal weapon in her hands, and she asked this question in a crisp and pleasant voice, “Master, how should we deal with them?”
She knew about the unique effects of An Lin’s blood, so she was eager to have him smear his blood onto her sword. Using a sword that was smeared with Master’s blood to hack at the enemies… She had a nagging sense that that would feel amazing.
However, An Lin’s decision left her greatly disappointed.
“Little Na, go and protect the students. As for the Dark Poison Lord, I’ll deal with him myself.” An Lin stretched his body, and his battle intent surged. He could barely contain his thirst for battle any longer.
Ever since he had achieved initial success with his body of the War God, he hadn’t been able to fight to his heart’s content.
His battles against Xing Tian and Emperor Ziwei allowed him to develop a general understanding of his own strength. At the same time, he had also accumulated huge amounts of God of War battle intent. Now, he needed an uninhibited battle to clearly understand his true strength.
“Foolish human.” The Dark Poison Lord felt that he was being looked down upon after finding no trace of fear on Tina and An Lin’s faces. He lunged toward An Lin and swung a fist at him!

The poisonous black mist that enveloped the Dark Poison Lord’s fist appeared like a bottomless maw that could swallow and obliterate all matter. Even the surrounding void hissed wherever the fist passed by. If ordinary cultivators of the Soul Formation Stage accidentally came into contact with this poisonous mist, they would definitely be corroded into vapor and vanish into nothingness.
When the City Lord saw this attack, he instantly ran as far away as he possibly could. There was a hint of sympathy in his eyes as he looked toward An Lin.
It was clear that the Dark Poison Lord wanted to swallow the physical body of the male before him before extracting his divine sense. He would then slowly torment him. At that time, the male would certainly understand that death was a form of bliss.
An Lin jumped off Da Bai’s back and leaped toward the Dark Poison Lord. He didn’t dodge or evade, and a golden lotus flashed across his forehead as he broke through the sound barrier. His flashing golden fist contained the fearsome power of earth as it smashed toward the Dark Poison Lord.
Boom!
A loud explosion reverberated throughout heaven and earth as the two devastating energies collided.
The City Lord’s eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the scene before him.
He saw the formidable Dark Poison Lord be blasted back after being struck by the fist of a Soul Formation Stage cultivator!
The golden fist ripped through the raging poisonous mist and landed on the Dark Poison Lord’s body. Then, the monstrous power contained within it erupted and blew the Dark Poison Lord back hundreds of meters.
A searing pain coursed through the Dark Poison Lord’s body, and he felt as if he had been swatted by a gigantic divine mountain.
“Who the hell are you?!”
There was a look of shock on his face as he glared at An Lin. He couldn’t bring himself to believe that such a strike had been launched by a cultivator of the Soul Formation Stage.
“Me? I’m your papa!”
An Lin raised his head arrogantly. He activated the full power of his body of the War God and lunged toward the Dark Poison Lord again.
Dark Poison Lord flared up in rage. He gritted his teeth and made a grabbing motion toward An Lin. The space within a one thousand meter radius suddenly shook violently.
Spatial Seal!
This was a spatial ability that only supreme beings above the Return to Void Stage could cast. This kind of power was invincible against cultivators who hadn’t reached the Soul Formation Stage yet, and it could freeze all enemies who hadn’t grasped the power of space to the spot, turning them into sheep waiting for slaughter.

There was a cruel look on the Dark Poison Lord’s face. No matter how strong the cultivator before him was, it would all be to no avail if he still hadn’t grasped the power of space yet.
However, a streak of red light tore apart the frozen space and shattered all his fantasies.
The Wings of Wind had materialized on An Lin’s back, and bursts of wind encircled his Evil-Slaying Sword as he lunged toward the Dark Poison Lord.
The combination of stage two Wind Spirit Technique and Wind Sword raised An Lin’s speed to an extraordinary level. A white streak appeared behind his body as he shot through the void, and he didn’t pause or dodge as the poisonous black mist of the Dark Poison Lord enveloped him.
He dares to enter my poisonous mist? He’s seeking death! A look of elation spread across the Dark Poison Lord’s face.
However, before he could even celebrate, he saw An Lin’s unscathed body rip through his poisonous mist, and it instantly appeared before him.
“How is this possible?!” The Dark Poison Lord’s eyes widened in shock.
Even cultivators of the Return to Void Initial Stage would receive injuries if they were to crash into his poisonous mist without any defenses, much less a cultivator of the Soul Formation Stage! Moreover, the cultivator before him was only of the Soul Formation Intermediate Stage! How was he unscathed?!
Just as the Dark Poison Lord was struck with shock, An Lin’s Evil-Slaying Sword had already slashed down toward him. Even though he was a supreme being of the Return to Void Stage, he developed a feeling that he was unable to keep up with the speed of An Lin’s strike.
Rip!
The Dark Poison Lord retreated as fast as he could, yet the Evil-Slaying Sword still ripped a gaping wound into his body. Blood sprayed into the sky, and he appeared especially disheveled.
Meanwhile, the spectating City Lord and Blood Tribe soldiers widened their eyes in shock.
So, what happened to ravaging the kids? Why is he being ravaged now?!
The Dark Poison Lord is a mighty figure who rules over an entire realm! How is it possible that such a powerful being is being beaten by a cultivator of the Soul Formation Stage? Could it be that this Dark Poison Lord is a fake?!
No… There’s no way that he’s a fake!
The City Lord shook his head. The Dark Poison Lord is extremely powerful; the power released by him is far too overwhelming to be a fake lord.
It must be that… the Dark Poison Lord has met a Soul Formation Stage cultivator who’s even more formidable than him…
M-hm, that was indeed the case. However, the members of the Blood Tribe couldn’t bring themselves to swallow this reality. Since when could cultivators of the Soul Formation Stage challenge supreme beings of the Return to Void Stage? This didn’t make any sense!
Meanwhile, the twenty students quickly accepted this reality.
“This is the God An that I revere! So handsome!” Stars twinkled in a female student’s eyes, and she had the look of a starstruck fangirl as she spoke.
“I said so before. With Student An Lin here, there’s nothing we need to worry about,” a male student said as he sighed in relief.
“I’m afraid that the most fruitful part of this end-of-semester trial is being able to witness this battle between Return to Void Stage cultivators,” a student exclaimed excitedly. “This battle is so eye-opening and inspiring!”
“Wrong! This isn’t a battle between Return to Void Stage cultivators,” a retarded superfan corrected the student earlier. “It’s a Return to Void Stage cultivator being mauled by a Soul Formation Stage cultivator!”
…
High up in the sky, the frustrated Dark Poison Lord finally exploded in rage.
He bellowed in anger, and clouds of poisonous mist surged violently from his body. “You forced me to do this!” he snarled. “I didn’t plan on using this move, but you’ve pushed me to my limits. Taste the power of my Heart Consuming Poison!”
A pitch-black and profound poisonous mist erupted outward like a tsunami, and it instantly engulfed the entire city.
Tens of thousands of Blood Tribe members were swallowed by this vast cloud of poison. They howled in anguish, and their bodies and souls were corroded into nothingness in a mere few seconds.
The City Lord dashed away furiously, yet he was still unable to outrun the spread of the poisonous mist. His Soul Formation Stage body slowly became black and started to melt away.
He wailed in grief as he furiously tried to dispel the poison with spell techniques. However, his attempt was in vain, and he became a pool of black blood after just ten seconds.
Heaven and earth descended into darkness, and only Da Bai as well as the twenty students who were being protected by Tina remained illuminated. They were like a faint flicker of light drifting among infinite darkness.
