Chapter 603: I’ll Be Your Heavenly Tribulation
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
The dazzling white lightning sword pierced through An Lin’s body with boundless sword intent and destructive power.
This was the only way An Lin could think of to ensure Liu Qianhuan’s survival.
There had been one lightning sword that took him by surprise and striking him before being crushed and absorbed.
He just had to do the same thing again by directing the tribulation lightning toward himself.
It was quite clear that he had succeeded. The white lightning sword pierced through his body, charring his entire chest black with its destructive power and causing him to throw up a mouthful of blood.
“An Lin!” Liu Qianhuan’s heartwrenching cry erupted.
She tried to move, to get closer to An Lin, but the mighty power of heaven and earth suddenly descended upon her.
Liu Qianhuan felt the paramount power inflict backlash on her body, and she instantly threw up a mouthful of blood.
“Don’t worry about me! I’m fine!” An Lin took a deep breath as he spoke. His body of the War God had already been activated earlier, and his currently near-indestructible body resisted against the fearsome power imbued within the lightning sword.
At the same time, the lightning sword gradually began to flow into An Lin’s sea of vital energy.
An Kirin, who was riding on whaleback, looked up into the sky to discover a monstrous lightning sword taking shape in the sky. Even the white vermilion bird was given a fright as it retreated into the distance.
An Kirin, however, was completely unfazed as he flew into the air toward the lightning sword while opening his mouth in excitement.
Munch munch…
Thus, An Kirin began to gobble up the white lightning sword within An Lin’s sea of vital energy.
At the same time, the massive lightning sword protruding from An Lin’s chest began to shrink before collapsing into countless specks of white lightning that enveloped An Lin’s body.
Bai Zhong, Kong Mohan, Liu Qianhuan, and all the spectating students were completely dumbstruck.
Even the Celestial Thearch couldn’t help but swallow in shock.
It was at that moment that they saw a joyful expression appear on An Lin’s face!
That’s right, in contrast to the pain that had flashed across his expression upon being first struck by the lightning sword, all that was left now was a sense of bliss.
His body trembled slightly while the corners of his lips perked up into a blissful smile.
“Is An Lin enjoying this?”
“It looks like it. He wouldn’t be smiling if he was in pain.”

“I would.”
“… Bro, that was a bit too much information there.”
“An Lin truly is worthy of the title of Tamer of Divine Lightning. Only someone as freakish as him could manipulate divine lightning and derive joy from being struck by a bolt of lightning!”
“Does it really feel that good to be struck by lightning? I want to try it too…”
All the students looked up at the man in the sky with expressions of reverence and fanaticism. This was probably another scene that was going to etched into their memories.
Xu Xiaolan was looking up at An Lin with a complex expression. Could it be that he’s a masochistic person?
The dark clouds in the sky began to slowly dissipate as the radiant sunlight peeked through.
An Lin had also completely absorbed the lightning sword by now, and a white lightning cloak draped itself over An Kirin’s body. A fearsome sword intent began to surge through his sea of vital energy as the little whale began to tremble in fear.
What the hell was this cloak?
Could it be that… this cloak was the equivalent to clothes?!
An Lin was ecstatic as this thought occurred to him.
The condition for breaking through to Soul Formation Final Stage was to give An Kirin a good-looking item of clothing to wear, and cloaks counted as clothing too, right?!
He eagerly surveyed his system to find that there was no notification for mission completion.
An Lin was quite dejected upon seeing this. It looked like cloaks didn’t count after all.
Boom!
His sea of vital energy suddenly tremored.
Immediately afterward, An Kirin reciprocated with some sort of energy, which allowed him to observe the Dao of lightning. This was related to the sword intent of lightning. In simpler terms, he could use the white lightning sword as well now…
A vibrant smile blossomed on Liu Qianhuan’s face as her eyes regained their former spriteliness upon seeing that An Lin was unscathed.
Crack…
A clear, crisp crack sounded.
The projection of the ancient sword around her body suddenly began to crack open.
“Pfff…” Liu Qianhuan threw up a mouthful of blood.
An Lin’s expression shifted as he asked with concern, “Are you alright, Senior Student Liu?”
As a vastly knowledgeable and experienced Sword Immortal, Kong Mohan immediately realized something as a grave expression appeared on his face. “This is bad! She is missing a bolt of tribulation lightning, which has resulted in an imperfection in her sword Dao intent! This means that if she doesn’t take advantage of the lightning tribulation to perfect her Dao intent, it is going to be exceedingly difficult for her to improve her cultivation base in the future.”

Everyone’s expressions shifted upon hearing this. They all turned to look up into the sky to discover that all the dark clouds had dissipated. There wasn’t any tribulation lightning left!
Could it be that this tribulation transcendence was bound to end in tragedy?
Tears streaked down Liu Qianhuan’s beautiful yet vulnerable face.
However, she forced a nonchalant smile onto her face upon hearing Kong Mohan’s words as she said in a cheerful voice, “That’s fine. I’m just glad I was able to come out of this alive! I have already attained the body of a Soul Formation Stage cultivator, so I have a ten thousand year lifespan already. That’s more than enough!”
Crack…
Countless cracks began to appear on the projection of the ancient sword as its bronze luster faded. The sword Dao intent, which had previously been so powerful and resolute, was now on the brink of collapse.
Everyone felt a sense of profound sadness upon seeing this, and some people even averted their eyes as they could no longer bear to look.
An Lin clenched his fists tightly with an unyielding expression. There had to be another way!
A thought suddenly occurred to him as he took a deep breath and waved a finger through the air.
Crack…
White lightning imbued with boundless sword intent reappeared in the air.
This familiar feeling…
Liu Qianhuan stared up at An Lin with astonishment in her purple eyes.
Not just her, but everyone also turned their eyes on An Lin with a smorgasbord of expressions on their faces. Their expressions were that of shock, confusion, and excitement.
“Do you trust me?” An Lin asked.
Liu Qianhuan nodded with a vibrant smile. “Yes.”
“Then how about we give it a try?”
An Lin waved his hand as the white lightning converged to become a lightning sword from which supreme sword intent exploded forth.
“Alright, I’m willing to give it a shot.”
For some reason, Liu Qianhuan had unconditional trust in the man standing before her. It was as if the sense of security he provided her made him worthy of her unconditional trust.
Boom!
The white lightning sword struck Liu Qianhuan.
Liu Qianhuan activated her cultivation method again as her sword intent resumed its ascent.
Boom!
Amid an explosion of lightning, the cracks on the projection of the ancient sword began to slowly smooth themselves over.
Everyone’s hearts thumped in their chests upon seeing this, and they almost let out cries of surprise.
It was working!
The power that An Lin was unleashing originated from Liu Qianhuan’s tribulation lightning, so the power imbued within the lightning sword corresponded extremely well with Liu Qianhuan. To be able to unleash power akin to Liu Qianhuan’s tribulation lightning was also quite a pleasant surprise for An Lin.
“It’s not enough…” An Lin manipulated lightning again as another white lightning sword struck Liu Qianhuan.
Boom boom boom…
Amid a flurry of explosions, Liu Qianhuan’s sword Dao intent was gradually being perfected.
In the end, Liu Qianhuan’s sword intent joyfully soared into the heavens right before everyone’s scorching eyes.
The joy within her regal sword intent resonated with all the swords present at the scene again.
The swords weren’t bowing in submission this time. Instead, it was as if they were celebrating the arrival of their queen.
Liu Qianhuan stepped through the air as a tiny projection of a divine sword appeared underfoot with each step she took.
The world around her seemed to have become a realm of swords.
Kong Mohan’s body trembled as he exclaimed in an ecstatic voice, “This is the birth of a truly exceptional Sword Immortal!”
Liu Qianhuan made her way toward An Lin. The sharpness in her purple eyes completely faded away as it was replaced by a wave of emotions.
A light breeze blew past, causing her long hair to dance in the air.
“Thank you, An Lin. I’ll reward you with a hug!” She didn’t wait for a reply form An Lin before a cheeky smile appeared on her face as she enveloped An Lin in a tight hug.
An Lin caught a whiff of a light aromatic scent wafting into his nose before Liu Qianhuan’s soft and warm body was pressed tightly to his.
He stood rooted to the spot as Liu Qianhuan wrapped her arms tightly around him.
The man who had once required her protection was now someone who she could rely upon…
Liu Qianhuan closed her eyes and held on for several seconds before slowly releasing her arms from around An Lin and taking a few steps back.
She tilted her head to the side with an amused smile at the sight of An Lin’s dumbstruck expression.
Her smile that came with a hint of affection and gratitude was both exuberant and beautiful.
She expressed her gratitude to An Lin once again, “Thanks!”
An Lin came to his senses and waved his hands. “You’re welcome, it was my pleasure!”
An undetectable grimace appeared on Xu Xiaolan’s face…

“A great corruption is spreading. The people cry out for a savior. For a hero. For YOU! Come join the fight, as the chosen of World Tree! Receive the blessings of the gods, battle fierce monsters, and become the hero you were meant to be, in Arcanum Online!” It was the cheesiest commercial Ethan had ever heard, but the gameplay was enough to draw him - and thousands of others - to the fantasy world of Lazuros. It’s the sort of place that can really draw you in - a huge open world, a deep character customization system, and a feature that makes time pass slower inside the game, extending your limited playtime! It was a little strange, though. As if it was a bit too realistic for a game of swords and sorcery. The NPC’s seemed almost alive, most quests didn’t reset and monsters respawned slowly. Still, for all it’s quirks, it was a good game! Just a game. And nothing more. …right?
