Chapter 512: Searching For Snow Soul Beasts

“I will be sure to express my gratitude to An Lin the next time we meet!”
Lü Dongbin came to his senses before replying with a respectful expression.
The black dragon clearly intended to express his own gratitude to An Lin through Lü Dongbin.
As for why the black dragon wanted to repay An Lin after being killed by him, this was not something he could guess at. In any case, the black dragon was either crazy, or there were circumstances unbeknown to him that could explain the situation, but he wasn’t going to pry into the matter.
The black dragon nodded with satisfaction before turning to the sacrificial altar and drawing a deep intake of breath.
Boom!
Earth-shattering suction power burst forth from his mouth, causing the massive altar to collapse.
An inky black vortex imbued with boundless suction power appeared within the black dragon’s mouth before pulling out a white fragment from beneath the sacrificial altar, which seemed to be both substantial and insubstantial at the same time, into his mouth.
“Hahaha… this is great! It’s a fragment of the realm core! Is this a present for me to celebrate my resurrection?” The black dragon waved his tail around excitedly in a show of joy.
Lü Dongbin opened his mouth but didn’t say anything. He could only heave a wistful sigh to himself.
Just as the two of them were conversing with one another, something suddenly happened.
The might of heaven and earth suddenly descended upon the black dragon, causing his scales to crack open as blood gushed forth from all over his body.
“Howl!” The black dragon wailed in anguish, and he almost fell from the sky. “What kind of power is this? I can’t resist it at all!”
A thought suddenly occurred to Lü Dongbin, and he hurriedly explained. “Senior! This crumbling continent is no longer able to contain Return to Void Stage cultivators who are close to Dao Integration Stage. Any cultivators with such cultivation bases would receive backlash from the laws of heaven and earth!”
“Has this continent already been reduced to such a ghastly state?!” The black dragon seemed to be enduring some sort of extremely fearsome force as he gritted his teeth and spoke with great difficulty, “Show me your alternate world teleportation badge for a second!”
Lü Dongbin immediately passed his teleportation badge to the black dragon.
The black dragon examined the badge for a while before returning it to Lü Dongbin. “I can sense from the badge that the world you came from is a very familiar one… as if it’s the twin to this world. No, it’s more appropriate to call it a mirroring world…”

“I have to leave now. Transmigrating across two realms through the power of my body alone is going to cost me a vast amount of energy, but if I continue to stay here, I’ll most likely die again.” The black dragon waved his tail before opening up a spatial rift to escape from here.
Lü Dongbin heaved a forlorn sigh as the black dragon departed with the fragment of the realm core.
Sigh… All his work in the past few days was in vain now…
Ancient Divine Division, Heavenly Snow Abyss Mountain.
Hong Dou was walking through a huge cave, and he shivered uncontrollably as he hugged himself into a ball-like shape. The flame in his chest was extremely feeble, as if it was about to fizzle out at any moment.
“Keep persevering, we’re almost at the Hanging Ice Lake!” An Lin gritted his teeth as he struggled onward.
The ceiling of the cave was covered entirely in icy stalactites, which was giving off a frosty sharpness, and the entire space within the cave was filled with frosty blue mist.
There was a bright blue lake around a kilometer from the cave with ripples running across its surface. The blue lake was the source of all the frosty blue mist, and it was the coldest place in the entire cave, but there was still no sign of the lake freezing over.
The temperatures continued to drop as they progressed closer and closer to the lake.
“Xiao Tu said that there are snow soul beasts at the bottom of the Hanging Ice Lake, but I wonder if that’s even true. Even if it’s true, who’s going to dive into the lake to capture them?” Liu Chuchu’s teeth chattered as she spoke. Her body was quite fragile, and in this cold area, her tolerance was the lowest among everyone here. Even though she was hugging herself so tight that she looked like a ball and unleashing spell techniques to try and keep the frosty air at bay, she was still shivering uncontrollably as she trudged forward.
“I’m a good swimmer, so I can do that.” Ling Ying volunteered.
She was the one that was least affected by the cold, and she floated casually through the air with a relaxed expression on her face.
An Lin nodded. “Tina, Liu Chuchu, and I will be standing by the lake to provide assistance to you if required. Hong Dou can be responsible for lighting up our surroundings with his flames.”
He turned to look at Hong Dou as he spoke.

“Huh? Where did Hong Dou go?”
An Lin suddenly discovered that Hong Dou had disappeared!
Everyone was shocked upon making this discovery, and they all turned to look behind them to discover that Hong Dou had been frozen into an ice sculpture several dozen meters away.
Hong Dou had his arms wrapped around his chest, and his legs were frozen midstep with an expression of fear and indignation congealed onto his face.
Everyone: “…”
An Lin grimaced upon seeing this. “Isn’t he supposed to be quite capable at using fire? What happened to all his flame power?”
Ling Ying scratched her head with a resigned expression. “Hong Dou’s flame is a spiritual flame, which is tied directly to his life force. His life force fears the cold, so his fire also fears the cold. Hence, his flames would choose to withdraw under extreme cold in order to conserve his life force as a means of self-preservation…”
This was the first time everyone had heard of flames that were scared of the cold…
“So, what you’re saying is, Hong Dou is extremely susceptible to cold temperatures, and he’s useless to us now…” An Lin rolled his eyes.
An awkward expression surfaced on Ling Ying’s face. “Just leave him like that, we can eliminate him from the distribution of treasures as well…”
Thus, everyone gathered around the edge of the Hanging Ice Lake, where they were forced to use spell techniques to keep out the bone-chilling cold.
This was a bottomless lake with light blue water. The darkness at the bottom of the lake seemed to be threatening to engulf all living beings that dared to enter its depths.
“Brrr… I can’t do this anymore, I have to retreat a little…”
There was a layer of white frost covering Liu Chuchu’s head of long black hair, and her teeth chattered violently as she retreated to a hundred meters away, where she held her bow and stood on guard.
if it wasn’t for the snow soul beasts, she would never come to such a ghastly place.
The snow soul beasts were one of the ten legendary beast pet species of the Ancient Tai Chu Realm. They possess extremely powerful ice-type Dao foundations, and if nurtured correctly, they could eventually reach Return to Void Stage or even higher.
They were apparently quite adorable as well!
Just their images were enough to woo countless female cultivators, making them the most sought after beast pets to the female demographic!
However, this species had a very small population, and they only appeared in the Ancient Tai Chu Realm, so only very few people owned them as beast pets.
Even on the Tai Chu Continent, there were probably less than ten people with snow soul beasts as beast pets.
Liu Chuchu was absolutely ecstatic after learning of the location of the snow soul beasts from Xiao Tu, and she immediately vowed to capture one for herself!
They followed Xiao Tu’s instructions and finally made their way to the Hanging Ice Lake; it was now time to see whether there were actually any snow soul beasts within the lake.
“I’ll be back soon, you guys can just wait for me here.”
A layer of white liquid enveloped Ling Ying’s body before she entered the lake.
An Lin knelt down and placed his hand on the surface of the Hanging Ice Lake to discover that the water was like a pool of countless miniature ice sabers, which sliced into his hand. The frosty aura within the water was extremely destructive and the palm of his hand was soon riddled with countless tiny wounds that froze over before being sliced open again in a perpetual loop.
“What an interesting power…” An Lin’s interest was piqued.
Just as he was about to examine the water further, bolts of lightning suddenly exploded forth from the bottom of the lake.
Boom!
A huge bolt of lightning exploded into the sky above, and immediately after, Ling Ying burst out of the lake.
“Huh? You’re back already?!” An Lin was taken aback by Ling Ying’s sudden emergence.
“Run! There are too many snow soul beasts in there!” Ling Ying yelled before retreating toward the opening of the cave!
Too many snow soul beasts?
An Lin and Liu Chuchu’s eyes both lit up at once.
Run my a*s!
They were worried that there weren’t enough snow soul beasts to split among everyone, so wasn’t it a good thing that there a lot of them?
Ling Ying immediately gestured hurriedly with her tentacles as she explained in a panicked voice, “The snow soul beasts are extremely powerful! I was only able to escape after using a life-saving talisman!”
Countless splashes suddenly burst forth over the surface of the water as a series of figures appeared above the river.
The snow soul beasts were here!

And if they are indeed real, how I can I get there?" This story is an Infinite Stream novel where the mc travels through different anime and movie worlds acquiring various magical abilities and knowledge to become a supreme wizard that stands on the top of countless dimensions and universes. Warnings: The MC will spend a great deal of time in the Harry Potter World before going to other worlds.I have not decided whether the [Curse Child] is canon or not. I do not care what JK Rowling said. This is a pseudo-science explanation of magic, so take it with a grain of salt. I am an amateur writer with not-so-good grammar, so any constructive criticism is appreciated. This is a wish-fulfillment and Gary Stu-type novel so read at your convenience. If this is not your kind of thing, then move along and do not complain about it later. Although this fanfic will be a Harem, the mc will not have a thousand women. Most likely, I will write so that he has a certain relationship with some female characters, then he will leave her in her own universe. Only a few will follow him in his journey. Also, a few men will be in his group. THIS IS NOT A YAOI. Disclaimer: All the characters--except the one created by me--belong to JK Rowling.
