Chapter 366: Xiao Hong Saves The Day
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
A chill immediately ran down An Lin’s spine as the trial commenced.
“Light up the darkness, Great Holy Flame!”
In the face of this boundless expanse of darkness, An Lin immediately unleashed a Divine Flame to light up his surroundings.
Boom!
A streak of light flashed past before it was instantly engulfed by the darkness.
What?!
An Lin’s heart trembled as an object crashed into his chest.
The object was imbued with devastating power, and An Lin’s chest caved in despite the fact that he had cultivated the Earth Lotus Supreme Skill and Evergreen Technique to strengthen his body far beyond the average cultivator.
Acute pain shot through his entire body as he spat out a mouthful of blood and flew back like a cannonball.
“Big Brother An, woof!” Da Bai roared in rage as he slashed with his claws toward where An Lin was originally standing, only to find that there was nothing there.
In the next instant, his body was also struck by a powerful force which slammed him into the metallic wall of the chamber. Upon impact, the wall immediately caved in to create an indentation in which his body was slotted, and he felt like his body was about to fall apart.
“Da Bai, can you detect its location from its scent?!”
An Lin yelled in the darkness.
“I can’t detect any scent from it… woof…”
Da Bai replied feebly. The force of the prior collision had almost put him out of commission.
An Lin gritted his teeth, and wings sprouted from his back as he flew in Da Bai’s direction.
Da Bai instantly raised its claws in defense as it detected an approaching air current.
“Don’t attack, it’s me!”
An Lin yelled as he grabbed onto Da Bai’s fur and released his Heavenly Void Flame to form a defensive barrier around his body.
Da Bai heaved a light sigh of relief after An Lin came to his side, but An Lin’s expression was still extremely solemn.
The attacks of the shadow demon came without any warning, and there was no way to detect its presence through sound or directions of air currents. The darkness around them was able to engulf all light, so An Lin was completely oblivious to where the attacks were coming from.

The only fortunate thing in this situation was that the darkness could only engulf light, but not the power released from spell techniques. An Lin could still feel the heat emanating from his Great Holy Flame, and this gave him some hope.
A few seconds later, a hole suddenly appeared in the Heavenly Void Flame as if it had been torn apart by something.
“Be careful, Da Bai!”
An Lin yelled as he slashed out a dazzling sword projection with his Evil-Slaying Sword.
He could even hear the sword projection tear through the air before crashing with a loud bang into the wall on the other side of the chamber.
I missed?
An Lin blinked, and right at this moment, he received another heavy blow to the stomach.
“Pwah!” He was almost knocked unconscious by the blow to the stomach.
He lashed out with his Evil-Slaying Sword at the same moment he was struck, but his slash struck only thin air.
The enemy was too fast…
In this pitch-black darkness that could engulf all light, An Lin had no hope of striking his assailant.
“You’ve forced me to do this. Demonic Star Flame! Great Holy Flame! Setting Moon Flame!”
“Sea of Divine Flames!”
Boom!
Terrifying flames instantly engulfed the entire chamber!
This wasn’t a particularly large chamber, and An Lin unleashed his Sea of Divine Flames technique without warning and the flames fanned out in a 360-degree attack without missing any blind spots.
He couldn’t detect the shadow demon’s location, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t attack it.
A technique like this was a miniature atomic bomb. He only had to activate it and let the ensuing flames take care of the rest!
An Lin finally ceased his Sea of Divine Flames technique after a long while and panted heavily with exertion.
“Did we win? Woof?” Da Bai spoke nervously as he hid behind An Lin.
An Lin was also waiting for the voice that would notify them that they had passed the trial, but it didn’t appear…
“How could it possibly not be dead after all that?”
He was treated to another devastating attack.
He could feel that it was a round and smooth fist that had struck his chest, and the mountainous force behind its blow almost caused him to pass out.

He was in utter disbelief at how insanely powerful his assailant was.
Is this really a trial for Spirit Nurturing Stage cultivators? Are you sure this isn’ a graveyard for Spirit Nurturing Stage cultivators instead?!
Devastating offensive power, perfect camouflage, insane defensive prowess…
Despair began to well up in An Lin’s head. Was a powerful Sword Immortal like him destined to perish here?
No, there was still a way out.
He could beg Bai Ling for help with tears streaming down his face. Maybe she would spare him…
Life or dignity, which one was more important?
He could almost picture the shadow demon looking at him with a sinister sneer in the darkness.
He released the Heavenly Void Flame again and enveloped Da Bai and himself within.
Thus, even if the shadow demon were to attack them, it would have to tear a hole in the Heavenly Void Flame cocoon, thereby momentarily notifying An Lin of its location.
However, right at this moment, An Lin received a powerful blow to the backside!
Overwhelming power shot through his backside and threatened to pulverize his hip bone!
Boom!
An Lin’s body flew into the sky and crashed heavily into the metal ceiling, causing the whole chamber to tremor and quake.
“Pwah…” An Lin spat out another large mouthful of blood as his blood churned, and he fell back toward the ground.
Humiliation, confusion, rage, and all types of emotions ran through his heart.
Was this really it? This trial was simply insurmountable. An Lin was about to give. He didn’t even have a clue how that last blow had landed on him. The shadow demon clearly hadn’t even burst through the Heavenly Void Flame, so how was it able to attack him? What kind of f*cking monster was this?
An Lin’s body crashed to the ground, and a sense of impending doom began to approach him.
Right at this moment, his pocket began to rustle.
“It’s too dark, let there be light!”
A cute yet enraged voice suddenly sounded within the darkness.
“The sun shines from the sky above and the flowers smile to me…”
“The little bird said, it’s too dark~~~and it asked me to become a lightbulb!”
A moving song sounded as an aromatic breeze blew past.
An extremely dazzling golden plate appeared in the sky as if it were a miniature sun that had suddenly descended into the chamber. It was like a golden longsword which pierced through the darkness and brought light to the world!
“Ah… so bright!! Woof!” Da Bai felt like he had been blinded.
An Lin experienced a burst of dizziness and tears welled up in his eyes at the bright light radiating around him.
“Hmph, how dare you make it so dark, I’ll illuminate you to death!” A sweet voice sounded again.
This was Xiao Hong’s voice!
An Lin forced his teary eyes opened, and he saw a beautiful young woman in a crimson red dress standing in the air above him. A sun hung above her head and she held a red staff within her hand.
Why did Xiao Hong have a sun above her head and a staff in her hand? It would be pointless to ask An Lin as he didn’t know anything!!
A shadowy figure was finally revealed, and it shivered in fear under the illumination of the sun.
An Lin was immediately shocked into silence after catching sight of his enemy. The legendary shadow demon that was fearsome and sinister beyond belief was a kangaroo! It was a kangaroo with black fur that was only half as tall as a grown man with a pair of boxing gloves on its front paws!
“You are quite cute, but you hurt my master, and that’s punishable by death!”
Xiao Hong yelled lightly as the red staff in her hand began to revolve in front of her.
“In the name of the sun, I vanquish thee! Go forth, ambassador of the sun!”
As golden light began to burst forth from the red staff, a nude golden monk with a hulking, muscular physique began to materialize before it lunged toward the kangaroo.
Why was Xiao Hong able to summon such a weird-looking monk? It would be pointless to ask An Lin as he didn’t know anything!
The black kangaroo trembled at the sight of the nude monk charging toward it, and when a black rift appeared behind it, it immediately leaped into it without hesitation.
The rift closed and everything was peaceful once again…
No, An Lin’s heart was nowhere near peaceful!!
The nude, muscular monk suddenly turned to An Lin and revealed a friendly smile.
Goosebumps appeared all over An Lin’s body.
What the f*ck is that thing?!

[Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
