Chapter 253: Below the Return to Void Stage, My Attack Is Without Rival!
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
An Lin was lying on the floor, and his face was still flushed red.
Da Bai was currently sitting on him and using his paws to hold his hands down.
“Da Bai, let go of me! What are you doing to me…” An Lin wanted to break free. However, he had just been wounded, and Da Bai’s full weight of a few hundred pounds was now pressing down on his body. Thus, he was fighting an uphill battle to break free.
Da Bai spat to the side. “You think I want to hold you down? I’m preventing you from doing crazy things, woof!”
“Let me go, I’m not crazy…” An Lin was still struggling.
Seeing this, Xiao Chou used a withered vine binding spell to tie his body up tightly.
An Lin: “…”
“You guys are pressing me down and tying me up? Why are you guys practicing bondage on me?”
Xiao Chou: “…”
Xu Xiaolan walked up to An Lin and squatted down beside him. Then, she placed her slender finger onto his forehead. Wisps of coolness flowed through her finger and into his body, cooling him down.
After a short while, she said indifferently, “Your body temperature reached 60 degrees Celsius just then. If normal people heated up to such temperature, they would’ve died long ago. Your condition is slightly better. Your body is fine, it’s just that there’s something wrong with your brain…”
Thanks to Xu Xiaolan’s immortal spell, An Lin’s erratic behavior gradually died down. However, he involuntarily winced when he heard her final remark.
“Who would’ve thought that my frost inheritance would be needed so quickly.” The corner of Xu Xiaolan’s lips curled up into a teasing smile.
“I also didn’t think that learning Wings of True Fire would have such serious after-effects.” An Lin chuckled in self-ridicule.
He finally regained his senses at this moment. To hell with being fired up!
He was only of the Spirit Nurturing Stage, yet just then, he had charged at a Narwhal Dragon of the Soul Formation Final Stage. Even though he had many buffs from his techniques, such an action was still seeking death…
Fortunately, that young male liked to flex, and his side was also able to flee quickly. Otherwise, there was a very real chance that he might’ve died there.
“Wah! Big Brother An’s finally returned to normal, woof!” Da Bai started wagging his large, snowy white tail, and his heavy body pressed down on An Lin in excitement.
“Holy f*ck! Da Bai, be gentler!”
An Lin was already wounded, and Da Bai pressing down on him almost suffocated him.
Seeing An Lin return to normal, “dog’s smother” and “bondage play” were both relieved.
An Lin swallowed a Blood Spirit Pill and started meditating in order to recover from his wounds.
Time slowly passed by. The light within the dragon tomb dimmed, and it gradually descended into darkness.

“Huh? This mystic realm also has day and night?” An Lin blinked in surprise.
“Maybe it’s so the tomb keepers can feel like they’re actually living,” Xu Xiaolan speculated.
An Lin shook his head and said sympathetically, “The tomb keepers’ lives are truly so boring…”
“It’s fairly pitiful.” Xu Xiaolan was feeling a little melancholy. “I really don’t know why this tomb has to have so many tomb keepers. If it’s for the inheritances, then setting up traps and other mechanisms will completely suffice. For example, choosing people through trials that make use of illusions or hallucinations.”
After sharing a moment of sympathy for the tomb keepers, they started discussing how to kill the young male in the Palace of Black.
After coming up with a battle strategy, they once again broke into the Palace of Black.
Gazing at the fierce and aggressive visitors, a meaningful smile stretched across the young male’s face. “Oh? You guys still have the nerve to come back.”
“Cut the crap,” An Lin roared. “Now die!”
He immediately released Gundam One and Gundam Two.
After seeing Gundam One and Gundam Two, the young male’s expression changed slightly. However, he wasn’t too worried. After all, mechanical puppets operated by a cultivator of the Spirit Nurturing Stage couldn’t be all that strong.
However, it wasn’t long before the young male realized just how wrong his assumption was.
The two Gundams worked with each other extremely well. One manipulated gravity fields and made use of terrifying restrictive abilities such as Sparticle Chains, while the other used light swords and laser beams. This had the young male overwhelmed and on the back foot.
Moreover, An Lin acted as a combat advisor who directed his troops from the sidelines. He could always identify openings in the young male’s defenses. Then, he had his team take advantage of these openings as they wounded the young male time and time again.
“Howl!”
The young male roared angrily and dragon scales started covering his entire body. He had fully activated the power of his bloodline.
Punching with all his might, he sent one of the Gundams reeling back. Then, blue lightning suddenly started crackling around his body as he shot toward An Lin like a bolt of lightning.
At this moment, killing An Lin first would be the correct decision. After all, he was the individual who manipulated the mechanical puppets and could easily identify his weak points.
However, when he closed to within thirty feet of An Lin, An Lin suddenly smiled.
Boom!
He was enveloped within a fearsome pillar of flames which soared into the skies.
Xu Xiaolan formed seals with her hands and fully activated the powers of her Divine Phoenix Bloodline, giving the pillar of flames a golden tinge. Not only did the flames burn hotter, but they even possessed a powerful restrictive ability.
Xiao Chou unleashed his Black Flame Domain and blocked the young male from charging forward.

Da Bai let rip gusts of violent winds which caused the pillar of flames to burn even more vigorously.
At the same instant, An Lin entered into a bow drawing stance. Flame feathers fluttered in mid-air. They quickly formed into a crimson arrow which burned with such high temperatures that the surrounding air started to slightly distort.
Immortal spell born from the First Stage Wings of True Fire—Crimson God Arrow!
Whoosh!
The Crimson God Arrow was insanely quick, and it dragged out a red streak behind it.
It whizzed under Xiao Chou’s armpit and pierced into the young male’s chest.
This was an opening detected by the Divine Inspection Technique. The coordinated attack caught the young male by surprise, and the scorching Crimson God Arrow penetrated through his chest.
At almost the exact same instant, Xiao Chou and Xu Xiaolan retreated hastily.
With a loud boom, Gundam One and Gundam Two released their Sparticle Photovoltaic Cannons which had finished charging up.
The young male felt his defenses falter as the arrow pierced through his chest. Then, he saw the beams of golden energy blasting toward him.
The Sparticle Photovoltaic Cannons exhausted huge amounts of energy. As a result, they also possessed a devastating amount of power. This formidable power instantly obliterated the Palace of Black and blew out a massive crater in the gigantic floating boulder.
“Haha, success!” An Lin chortled between gasps for breath.
“If he’s blown to bits, will the Black Lightning Dragon Ball also be destroyed?” Xu Xiaolan asked anxiously.
An Lin shook his head. “Don’t worry, it’s not that easy for a Narwhal Dragon of the Soul Formation Final Stage to be blown to bits. If he really has been blown into oblivion, then it’ll a massive loss for me. There’s something important that I still haven’t done yet~”
Gundam One and Gundam Two had depleted almost all of their energy. They immediately flew back into An Lin’s storage ring and started voraciously absorbing spirit stones in order to recharge their energy.
“Howl!”
The deafening roar of a dragon sounded from below the smoking ruins.
Immediately afterward, a gigantic shadow soared into the skies.
This figure was thousands of feet in length, and its intimidating aura formed into gusts of ferocious winds which blew aside the billowing smoke and dust. As the smoke and dust cleared, its towering figure emerged before An Lin and the others.
“That’s right… Thinking that such strikes would be able to defeat me, that’s looking down upon dragons!”
The Narwhal Dragon revealed its true form. Its voice was like rumbling thunder, and it appeared extremely mighty.
However, its gigantic body was dyed red from the blood gushing out of its wounds. It was clear that this dragon was severely wounded.
“Although the attack couldn’t blow you to bits, it certainly gave you grave injuries,” An Lin chuckled and said. Seeing the state of the Narwhal Dragon, An Lin didn’t panic. Instead, he even breathed a sigh of relief.
“Do you think I can’t kill you guys just because I’m wounded?!” The Narwhal Dragon roared in evident fury.
A soaring dragon might swept out from its body and whipped up a gale.
Thick blankets of clouds gathered in the skies, and a vast thunderous might started accumulating.
“I only need one strike to destroy you guys!”
There was a look of prestige and dignity in the Narwhal Dragon’s eyes. Its gigantic body glided up toward the sky, and it started drawing upon the power of wind and rain.
Countless arcs of threatening lightning started to condense before the Narwhal Dragon’s body.
Looking up, An Lin saw that the Narwhal Dragon had gathered hundreds upon thousands of arcs of lightning together. The fearsome might of this lightning cloud caused heaven and earth to tremble.
Condense, condense, and condense even more…
This sea of lightning eventually condensed into a bolt of divine lightning. This divine lightning turned from blue to purple, and this purple gradually developed a tinge of gold…
Once this golden-tinged purple lightning appeared, it released a suffocating might. This was a kingly might which made one quake in fear.
“This final strike seems to be a bit too powerful…” An Lin’s lips quivered in apprehension.
He had to admit, this bolt of lightning had him quite scared. For the first time, he didn’t feel confident.
The Narwhal Dragon soared through the skies haughtily. However, there was only awe and veneration in its eyes as it looked toward the golden-tinged purple lightning. “This lightning is the most powerful dragon lightning. Below the Return to Void Stage, this attack is without rival! Die!”
The golden-tinged lightning boomed down with unfathomable speed. As if it was a sword of divine judgment, this lightning cut through the night sky and became the sole color in this heaven and earth.
The Narwhal Dragon looked toward An Lin. It wanted to see how he vanished under this bolt of divine lightning.
Then, he saw An Lin extend a finger.
Immediately afterward, a strange sight appeared. The golden-tinged purple lightning suddenly became static and unmoving.
Its radiance was dazzling. Frozen in the night sky, it appeared especially stunning.
However… Why the f*ck wasn’t it moving?!
The Narwhal Dragon’s eyes bulged in disbelief. Seeing the corners of An Lin’s mouth curl up into a smile, a cold chill suddenly gripped at its heart.
It can’t be… You’re joking, right…?
“I heard that below the Return to Void Stage, this attack is without rival. I’m curious to see whether this applies to you as well…” An Lin smiled faintly. His eyes became snowy white, and he tapped toward someplace on the Narwhal Dragon’s body. “Go!”
“Holy f*ck!” the Narwhal Dragon roared. “This can’t be real!!”
The golden-tinged purple lightning moved. Bringing with it a kingly might, it instantly penetrated through the Narwhal Dragon’s body.
The Narwhal Dragon’s anguished wails reverberated through the heavens.

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. I was Summoned as a Hero, but I Became the Demon Lord Instead
"Ah, how I wish I could be summoned to another world." I’d always thought of such a naive wish of escapism would never be granted. However, shit happened and I was somehow summoned. However, in some strange twist of fate, I was no longer needed and disposed of, but that’s okay because I didn’t want to be a summoned hero to begin with. My new beginning may have been abruptly cut short, but even so, that is fine. There is a path I’m much more interested in. Mwuhahaha! Cough cough cough. Though, my sinister laugh may still need some practice. I was Summoned as a Hero , but I Became the Demon Lord Instead Volume 1 Word Count: 108K Including Volume Exclusive Content Available on Amazon Edit: If you don’t get the timeline that’s because the rate at which time flows in different worlds are not equal. In addition, timelines do not neccesarily run parallel to each other, they may cascade such that when summoned to another world you may get summoned from a different reference frame in the timeline of another world’s with respect to your own. Scientific constants can change from one plane to the next. The natural laws that govern each world is not necessarily the same across them all. Some may display similarities, while others may be the complete opposite where rather than aging forwards you actually age in reverse. Newborns could be born elderly and withered, but when they are born into the world, their body regresses towards death in reverse.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
