Starting With Contract Pets Chapter 55

"Su Yue, come out and help me!" Su Bai shouted from the door of their house.
In front of him were two large bags of soil, which he wanted to use to grow the Woodgrain Fruit Tree.
"Okay." Su Yue came out of the house and looked curiously at the two large bags of soil and the Woodgrain Fruit Tree next to his older brother. "Didn't you go out to hunt monsters? Why did you bring back a tree, instead? This thing is very valuable, though."
He came over and helped his older brother with the bag of dirt.
"Yeah, I saw this when we were on our hunt. I distributed the fruits to the others, while I took the tree for myself." Su Bai went inside.
"You encountered it in the wild? Didn't you meet a warlord monster?"
"Of course, I did. Help me plant the tree first, then I'll tell you about it slowly," he said.
After telling their father, Su Bai took out the big flowerpot where the iron tree was once planted. He put the soil in it and planted the Woodgrain Fruit inside.
These two bags of soil, which had cost him 5000 yuan, contained a lot of spiritual power and nutrients, but it could ensure that the tree would not die. The tree needed better conditions in order to bear fruit.
"Brother, this tree is for you. Plant it and just give me a piece of fruit when it bears some."
He smiled at Su Yue.
"Really?" The younger youth's eyes widened. This tree was a treasure and was worth at least tens of thousands of yuan. If it bore fruit in the future, its selling price a piece would start at 10,000 yuan.
He was just giving it to him?
"Of course, I don't go back on my words." Su Bai did not have time to take care of this tree. Since his younger brother was learning to be a pharmacist, he believed that the latter could plant the tree well.

Su Yue stood up straight upon hearing this. "Brother, don't worry; I'll carefully cultivate this tree."
He was extremely excited. Although he had a lot of knowledge, it was the first time he would be rearing such a valuable spirit plant.
"Haha! Of course, you must cultivate it carefully. If you're missing any materials, just ask our dad for money; he has a lot from the loan.
"Oh, and don't let us down."
Father Su also patted his younger son on the shoulder. He was extremely pleased that his children were more promising than him.
"The meal is ready; come over and let's eat." called Mother Su from the living room.
"Okay, right after we plant the tree!" shouted Su Yue.
...
"Let's go and eat. Son, come here, too. You can have some soup if you don't want to eat. By the way, how did you obtain this warlord-level fruit tree?"
As an entry-level Pet Tamer with a warlord pet, even Father Su might not have been able to obtain such a fruit tree, so he was very curious on how Su Bai had achieved this feat.
He had never ventured into a wilderness again after recovering from a serious injury, especially after he had a wife and children, back then.
This was also one of the reasons why the family had no savings.
At the dining table, Su Bai summarized his experience today. After listening to him, hsi parents shook their heads in astonishment. This son of theirs was really promising.
After exclaiming, they told him to be more careful in the future.
The younger brother was also extremely impressed.
...
After dinner, Su Bai returned to his room with the cub.
"Buddy, your performance was really great today." He hugged the cub and kissed it.
His usual training had indeed been useful, and the muscle memories had played a big role at critical moments.
"Hmph~ ( ̄^ ̄)"
The cub turned its head and held it high arrogantly.
"Still, through today's battle, I realized that we have many shortcomings. First, our frontal attack skills are very much lacking, and we don't have a more powerful attack, too.

"We have money now and time the next two days, so I'll take you to buy a good skill.
"We can train slowly for the other aspects; we're not in a hurry."
Su Bai smiled at the cub. He believed that his pet's strength would once again rise by one or two levels in the next few days. With his current resources, as well as the exclusive potions and medicinal cakes, the cub's breakthrough and evolution would be accelerated.
"Howl! (ノへ ̄,)"
The cub turned its head away from its owner. It was not anticipating this at all, training was no fun.
"What about this? Are you excited about this?" Su Bai suddenly took out a brand-new tablet from behind him and shook it in front of the cub, grinning.
Seeing its very own personal tablet, the cub's eyes widened. (✪ω✪)
It nodded wildly and obediently licked Su Bai's face, seemingly telling him to give the device to it.
"Haha! There you go; this is yours from now on." The youth handed his pet the tablet, no longer teasing it.
"Howl~~ φ( ̄∇ ̄o)"
The cub, which could not wait to try it, jumped onto the bed with the tablet. It hurriedly turned the tablet on, intently watching the whole process.
"Buddy, don't worry; I've already downloaded all the games for you. I even logged you into your accounts. You can directly play now."
Su Bai spoke with a smile, but he purposely omitted one information. He had opened a kid model account for the cub, which was conducive to its physical and mental health.
Ignoring him, the cub first played a round of Piano Tiles. Using the big tablet, it did not need to worry about stepping on the wrong tiles because of its overly big claws. This time, it took only half the time to surpass the first place, 'Ultimate Invincible'.
"Howl?"
It originally wanted to quit the game when a message popped. Clicking on it, a voice message sent by the user, 'Ultimate Invincible' quickly played.
"Hasi! Hasi!"
It was a string of gloomy yet gay sounds.
"Howl?"
The cub thought for a while and silently typed a line: "Can you speak human words?"
Having become more literate recently, it was very confident.
Su Bai was also stunned that this 'Ultimate Invincible' turned out to be a pet. The other was rather interesting; was it trying to say hello? Was its tone not just a bit too scary?
Shaking his head, he decided not to care about this. It was just a pet, and there was nothing to fuss about.
He took a new set of clothes and entered the bathroom to take a shower. The cub also retreated from Piano Tiles to play an exciting battle game.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Earth, in a dark corner, a bored fellow waited for the cub's answer.
"Hasi?"
Human words?
The pet turned off the phone, and half an hour later, it found an old dictionary, which it slowly opened.
...
"Buddy, it's time to sleep; you've been playing for a long while."
Su Bai came out from his shower and told the cub to turn off his tablet. He took out his phone to watch the live broadcast of that one Pet Tamer's adventure. Fang Laoba, who had been swallowed by the Kraken last time, had appeared once again. The anchor was not dead, and according to him, the Kraken had snatched the egg away.
Nobody knew if that was true.
Nevertheless, after experiencing two unlucky incidents, Fang Laoba had completely transformed into a cautious player, and now took one step at a time.
After playing with his phone, Su Bai checked the wood skills available on the market and fell asleep eventually.
The cub also fell asleep beside him after playing games.

Head of a reptile with rows of sharp teeth, a 180 cm tall body that is full of muscles, covered in scales formed green and black tiger stripes. Clawed hands and feet, with a tail strong enough to crush an adult neck. 'Man. . . can I still be called a human?' In the end, with a deep sigh Lark changed his form back into a human. A moment later, he came out of the room wearing a combat dress, tactical belt with shoulder strap, and jungle boots. While inserting a magazine into an AK-102, Lark muttered.
