Starting With Contract Pets Chapter 46

The next morning came in the blink of an eye. Su Bai went out to run for a few kilometers. Today, he was not going to train Purple Jade, having decided to give it a day off.
This won the cub's full approval.
It was because of this that the cub decided to strike for the day and refuse any form of training no matter what.
In fact, the main reason was that he had something to do today and could not take the cub out for training.
After eating breakfast, his English teacher, Hou Jie, sent him a message. "Student, I'm coming over. Your house is that villa with a wisteria tree in the yard, isn't it?"
"Yes, teacher. I'll bring my stuff and come out now," he replied.
"We're leaving, buddy. I'm going out today to prepare new food for you, made by me personally." He called to the cub, which was watching anime on the sofa.
"Howl!"
"Don't worry about the tablet; it'll be the same when we return."
"Howl!╰(* ́)`*)╯"
Purple Jade jumped into his arms, and Su Bai put it into his backpack, which he carried on his back. The cub's body, which had entered the growth stage, was now about the size of a cat, so it could no longer stand on his shoulder.
"Howl! ⊙ω⊙"
The cub poked out its round head, as well as its two small paws, from the backpack and looked around.
Outside, Su Bai saw Hou Jie at a glance. She was sitting on a huge flying fish, about seven or eight meters long, excluding the tail, and six or seven meters wide. It was flat and looked particularly like a ray fish in the sky.
"Student, your yard is really nice; it's so colorful." His teacher landed outside the yard with the large flying fish.
"Haha! That's all thanks to my buddy."
He looked at the giant flying fish. Its back was blue-black, its abdomen white, and its pupils dark golden. This was a powerful pet at the commander level. The cub looked at it motionlessly and quietly.

"What are you being in a daze for? Come on up; Xiao Qing is very docile and doesn't attack people."
Hou Jie beckoned him over.
"Oh, okay."
Nodding, Su Bai walked out of the yard with the cub in his backpack and gently stepped onto the flying fish's back. It felt soft as if he were stepping on a mattress.
Once he was up, Xiao Qing propped up a light-blue shield and then flew off into the sky.
"Haha! Are you curious?" asked his teacher with a smile.
"Yes, it's my first time being in close contact with a commander pet. It's such a big ray."
He nodded.
"Oh, you actually know that this is a ray. Well done! You deserve to be called a genius summoner." Hou Jie then sighed. "Still, this big ray isn't mine; it's my brother's, Hou Lan's. It's a very convenient mode of transportation for me."
"Hehe! I've heard of the supergiant ray, which is bigger than a ten-thousand-ton freighter, but I've unfortunately never seen one in person."
Su Bai analyzed the big ray in front of him.
[Name|Race]: Big Ray monster
[Gender]: Male
[Level]: Mid-level Commander
[Attribute]: Wind, Thunder
[Features|Passive]: Speed Wave (The greater the wind speed, the faster the speed of this ray.)
[Restraint]: Water…
[Weakness]: Soil
[Evolutionary direction]: Small Wind Ray — Wind Ray — Big Ray
[Introduction]: A docile monster living in the sky, likes to stop for a rest, fish above a waterfall, and follow the storm. Whenever there is windy weather, rays can be seen chasing one another and frolicking in the skies. It is also the best opportunity to catch a ray.
Big Ray has the bloodline of Supergiant Ray but can only be promoted to it under special circumstances…
*****
"Haha! A Supergiant Ray hasn't appeared for ages. It's said to have evolved from a Big Ray, but I haven't seen anyone successfully evolving it into that after so many years."
Hou Jie nodded.
Looking at its evolutionary opportunity to a Supergiant Ray, Su Bai could not help but sigh. This type belonged to the super-evolution range, and the evolutionary conditions were too harsh to achieve.

However, this Big Ray was already really good. If he could not catch one, it was also a good idea to contract a Big Ray and try to evolve it into a Supergiant Ray.
Ever since he learned about Kraken, Abyss Dragons, Giant Devils, and even the four gods of geomantic omen with earth and fire, which represented the origin of the world, Su Bai had longed for any of those monsters.
Within a few minutes of them chatting, Xiao Qing reached the Blue Moon Cultivation House several tens of kilometers away.
"Huh? This is the Blue Moon Cultivation House? It's so big!"
Looking at the cultivation house, Su Bai became dazed. He originally thought that it would be a small cultivation house, but it turned out to be such a big one.
Even from the sky, it covered an area of more than two thousand square meters. Although it was on the riverside, it was also a symbol of wealth.
It turned out that his English teacher was a hidden rich lady.
"Haha! This is all run by my younger brother. He's also a genius trainer like you. He's now a student of Ancheng First Spirit University."
As Hou Jie explained this, she let her pet go down.
The backyard of the Blue Moon Cultivation House was filled with squares of fields. Not only was the soil inside different, the plants and fruit trees were also unique.
A thin and tall young man was planting a blood-red seedling in the field. This seedling was planted all over this one-hundred-square-meter field.
"Brother, this is the genius trainer I told you about, Su Bai."
She jumped off her Big Ray and introduced her student to the young man at the edge of the field.
"Student, this is my brother, Hou Lan."
"Hello, Sir Hou." He respectfully greeted the young man. Although their age difference was not big, it was not a problem to address the guy with an honorific, given that he was Blue Moon Cultivation House's big boss as well as a senior trainer.
"Hello. Just call me Hou Lan. I've heard a lot about you from my sister. You can use whatever you want in the cultivation house, but don't touch the field."
His teacher's brother instructed without raising his head.
"Okay, thank you, sir." Su Bai nodded. Having come here to make energy potions and energy medicine cakes for the cub, he needed the equipment in the cultivation house.
"Let's go. My brother obsessively guards his precious spiritual field all day long; I even doubt if he'll be able to find a girlfriend in the future."
Hou Jie shrugged helplessly and took her student to the other side.
Su Bai nodded and thought for a while before stopping. "Sir, I think there's a problem with the planting of your Blood-origin Fruit Tree. There's too much sun jade powder in the soil."
Upon hearing this, Hou Lan looked up at him in surprise. "You also know of the Blood-origin Fruit Tree? Not bad!
"But there's not a lot of the sun jade powder. I've already carefully considered and accurately calculated it. Your thinking is too superficial, and your understanding isn't deep enough."
"Just ignore my brother and let him study it by himself. He's very familiar with it, so there's no need to worry," said Hou Jie.
"Oh, okay."
Su Bai followed her into the lobby of the cultivation house.
For some reason, he felt that Hou Lan was quite afraid to meet people yet was anxious to talk to people.
His English teacher explained some stuff to him and then left through the front hall. Putting down the cub, he took out a note and wrote down a list of materials, which would be used to make the exclusive potions and medicinal cakes.
There were dozens of densely packed items on the list.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
