As the announcement repeats, many players begin to stand up and get ready around me. Sally and I have just sat down for our food too. Sally looks up from her plate and stares at me, waiting for me to explain the plan of action. "Let's finish eating our food. We have a little under an hour before whatever happening happens." Before Sally can respond, thunder rumbles the building. The giant storm outside is getting closer and closer. I don't know why it's going to storm as the monsters attack, but some things happen that can't be explained.
The hamburger and french fries are pretty good, but the improvement of Sally's mood has stopped. All due to this... Test. That's the best explanation I can come up with. The same thing happened on the player continent. Well, something very similar. The last time this happened, I was alone, and I fought many thousands in a raging storm. I'm going to be surrounded by players and people this time around. This means I can't use my full power. If I do, many NPC's will die in the process. A handy cap, in a way.
My heart skips a beat in a small panic. The monsters I fought back on the player continent were leveled to match me. I'm betting the same thing will happen here. I slowly lift my head and look at Sally. She is an NPC. If she dies, she won't come back. I need to get her somewhere safe. "We need to leave! Now!" She'll be at serious risk if I have her with me. The monsters won't target her if she isn't by me, but if she is. It puts her at great risk. She looks at me in worry since this is the first time I've acted like this in front of her.
I don't wait for a response. I grab her wrist and drag her from the table and outside. "What's wrong, Cera?!" She's much more worried now. I pick her up in my arms, and I leap on top of the buildings. I can't toggle my wings on. I don't want our cover blown after all this is over. I leap from rooftop to rooftop, and every time I jump, I look at the storm. It has heavy rainfall and thunder. The most mesmerizing is the amount of lightning. "Where are we going!?" I have to leave her somewhere a safe distance from the city once the fighting is over. I'll come and get her.

I haven't responded to any of her questions yet, and I'm not going to until I take her to a safe place. Sally is strong enough to handle monsters and people within her level range, but the monsters coming to attack the players everywhere aren't something she is ready for. She needs more strength if she's going to fight beasts of this caliber. A few buildings later, and I'm leaping over the way. The wind blows hard at The City of James. The storm is getting closer. We still have plenty of time, but I'm not risking Sally's life. Not here, not in the place that caused her hell.
I land hard on the ground with her in my hands, and a large indent appears. I leap from the small crater and start leaping through the forest. Heading to some hills a few miles out from the city. The storm cloud looking like old photos on earth's internet. I think there called supercells. When the pollution on earth got to a certain point, supercells could no longer form. This is the first time I've seen what an actual supercell looks like in person. Not from old pictures on the internet. We are quickly approaching the hills, and I start to slow down.
Once at the top of one of the hills and a safe distance away from the storm's path and the city, I set Sally down. "You need to stay here and wait for my return. The fight in the city and surrounding area isn't something you are strong enough for yet. The monsters coming are likely near the 100's in level. The strongest one matching my level. You're still only level 79." Sally has a look of worry, not for her safety, but mine. I turn to head back to the city and wait for the onslaught, but before I can start moving, I feel her hug my back.
She knows I'll revive if I'm killed since I'm a new person, but that doesn't stop her. "Please... Don't get hurt... I can't stand the thought of..." I place my hand on top of hers at the are locked together on my chest since she is holding me from behind. She hugs me for a little while longer and lets me go. I turn my head and nod at her. I'm not going to die. I'm not going to get hurt. I know this from the sheer value of my stats alone. My health ranges in the tens of billions, and so does my mana. Nothing is going to hurt me. My power is too much to handle for these creatures.

This will be the first time I get to check out the new damage output for my active skills. It's going to be a bloodbath, but not for the players. I'm leaping through the forest and making my way back to the city. I can see players leaving the entrance and heading for the wall closest to the storm. They are likely going to intercept them. Putting the NPC's at less of a risk. The number of players that are doing this is small. More players are waiting inside of the city than outside. Monsters aren't going to hunt me exclusively. Only the strongest ones will come after me.
I make a slight adjustment to my path and decide to join the players waiting outside near the wall closest to the storm. After a minute or so, I land nearby and exit the woods to the front line. "You sure you want to be up here, kid?" A taller man to my left begins to speak. He's a player and around 6'5. He looks like a person in his mid 20's like most players, but I can tell by the way he carries himself he's much older than that. I lightly nod my head. I don't want to talk. My hood is still up, so he won't be able to see my face.
I won't be able to use my wings for the coming fights, and they'd come in handy. A weapon has to be a legendary grade or higher to even caused damage to my golden wings. Monsters don't carry legendary-grade weapons. As I'm watching the storm creep its way over to the city, the flashes of lightning illuminate the incoming enemies. They are aquatic-looking creatures, explains the rain. Wonder why it's specifically aquatic-looking creatures. The storm is still a mile or two out, but droplets of rain are already hitting my face. I pull up my player interface a final time and see a message from the system.
[System Message: These monsters are going to increase mastery over Mana Aura since they are a test for the players and will make them a bit stronger, which includes you. Kill as many as you can, weak or strong. You might get enough to raise your mana control by a percent or two.]
How about that, these are a test for us. I'm guessing the system A.I. has set this up. If not the A.I., then The Almighty father is the one who did so. I stop looking at the message, and I look around to see players staring at the air with a focus. They are looking at their messages too. Many of them have an excited or eager look on their face, and I'd understand that. They are going to get big boosts in power. I, on the other hand, will have massive amounts. Even a single percent increase to my Mana Aura control and my health and mana will increase by several billions.

Slave 53: The Phoenix
Azgarth is a violent Warlord from a planet where everyone feared him, a man that never lost a battle whether it be from his enemies surrendering or dying. After entering a wormhole, this once infamous man had his memory completely wiped. He was enslaved under the name 53. The great comet arrived one day and gave 53 an extremely rare animal aspect, the Phoenix. Having a rare animal aspect puts people on the fast track to power in this world. Will 53 show the same brutality as his former self? Author: So there will probably be a lot of changes when I start hashing out the whole classes and what not. I'm not planning on this to have statuses or anything like that, but when people 'lvl up' is probably going to be something like ascending 1, 2, 3, etc. With each ascension they are many times stronger, for example, someone who hasn't ascend at all would be at 0, but someone with a 1 would be about 5x stronger than someone who is 0 and so on. It would take a long time to reach each one. With the red colored marks which represents fire, I have a couple ideas with what I want to do, in a way a battle royale, as this continent they are on isn't very large, but all four elements are on it (or more, I might add light, dark, and some others) but all the humans have red, while a different alien race has blue (water), brown (earth), and grey (Air). The color of the mark they have influences how they feel about each other, a example of that would be if a red saw a brown, then they would naturally feel a disgust about each other, and if they killed someone from a different color they would gain way more life essence which is needed to ascend than they would killing someone from their same color. The last thing, I'm not too sure about the main character yet, as I like the whole idea of a memory wipe, I almost think it'd be more entertaining to have the guy slowly regain all his memory, then just becoming his normal self again. If that's the case I'll have to change the title of book. The original idea was this guy would keep the name 53, and his prior self named Azgarth is sharing his body, as in he can talk to him and give him advice on things since he doesn't want him to die since he is sorta like a split personality sharing the same body. Looking at it now, idk if I want this guy to be named 53 forever. Warning: A lot of dark content in the book, especially in the flashbacks.
