Divinity: Against The Godly System Chapter 178

Ryder spent his time inside the shower, properly cleaning his body and trying to calm his mind.
The cold water fell over his body, giving him a refreshing feeling. Even though his anger was still at its peak, he was calmer now.
He stepped out of the shower with only a towel wrapped around his waist.
There was once again a knock on the door.
"Sir, Open the door. I am the manager of this place. Please let me make sure that you are safe and that everything's fine."
The manager was standing outside, knocking on the door. Even though he had a master key, he hadn't used that.
Ryder walked towards the door in his towel, without taking time to wear more clothes.
He opened the door and instantly started scolding them.
"What the fuck is wrong with you guys! Can't you let a guest bathe in peace? Is this the service of this hotel! Do I need to give a written letter to you guys so that you let me shower in peace? This is the worst!"
"S-sorry Sir. One of our staff said that he heard a scream. We thought that you might be in danger. We were just trying to make sure that you are safe. We would leave now. Sorry for the disturbance,' the Manager apologized to Ryder before he left with the other staff.
Ryder shook his head before he walked back to his room.
"Sigh, this whole thing was a big mess. I got nothing and lost so many things. If I look at the silver lining, it's only that I managed to take off some bastard like them off the street," Ryder muttered as he sat on the bed.
It was a good thing that had the ticket booked for the afternoon of the next day. He realized that since he got to this city, his sim wasn't working. There was still a long time in flight, though. He stood up and picked up a different bed sheet that was kept in the wardrobe and placed that on the bed before he laid on it, lost in thought.

While Ryder was comfortably lying on his bed, the whole city of Washington was chaotic. The news about what happened spread to everyone. The media had reached the site of the blast. The Search work of the authorities was still going on.
Almost every news channel was showing the same news as this was a big thing. There had been many years since there was a blast like that. The number of agents and the attack helicopters standing there was proving how dangerous the situation was. Everyone knew that the situation was probably worse than they were able to imagine.
The Captain of the FBI had told Ray over the phone to handle the situation and to give an excuse to the media to silence them. They had decided not to tell them that it was related to the missing body case.
Alice was having a sleepover with Estonia. They were together watching the news at the moment.
"Didn't your brother go to Washington? You should call him to make sure that he wasn't nearby," Estonia told Alice, but Alice had done that already.
Alice called Ryder to ask him if he was alright or not, but her call wasn't getting connected.
It was as if Ryder was in a place that was not getting signals.

Ray was giving information to the media about what had happened. There were a lot of mikes placed before him.
"Let me start by introducing myself. I am from the FBI and the incharge of the operation that just took place here. I'll start with the good news first. There were no innocent citizens that were harmed here. Now that we cleared that, let me explain what happened in brief."
"We got some information that terrorists were hiding there. It was an operation to catch the terrorists; unfortunately, we weren't able to catch them alive. All the terrorists are dead, and we didn't manage to catch them alive," Ray explained.

"Sir, What are the chances of more terrorists hiding throughout the city? Do you have more information regarding that, and can you share that with us?" A reporter asked.
"You guys can rest assured. We are here to protect you in any situation, just like we did today. No terrorist will be able to harm this country, thank you," Ray let out before he finished the briefing. He deflected the question subtly while answering in his own way.
He didn't take any more questions and walked back.
"Ray, they managed to clear the place. We discovered no bodies intact, but we did find lots of pieces of bodies. The blast did a number of them," Jacob told Ray as he saw him coming towards him.
Ray couldn't help but sigh. This meant that one of the pieces belonged to his savior, who couldn't even receive a proper burial now.
"Collect them all. We would need them for the forensics," Ray replied as he nodded his head.
He walked towards Riya, who was talking with the Special Ops captain and the police chief who had arrived there.
"Did you find anyone?" Ray asked them.
"No. We searched every place that had a direct view of this flyover, but there's no suspicious person there. We did find the dead bodies of the snipers, though, which is strange. You remember the masked man who fired shots randomly with his Sniper Gun? Apparently, he managed to hit every sniper in the dead center of their forehead and no shot was a miss,"
"The number of shots that he fired, that's exactly the number of bodies that we found," Riya explained as he looked towards the area of carnage trying to remember the figure of the masked person shooting with his Sniper gun like it was a toy.
"Such a scary aim. That man would be a national treasure if he were in the army," The Special Ops Captain commented. He remembered how easy that man had made it look when he was watching from his helicopter.
"Well, he saved all of us... including me. I wish I could thank that man personally. His sacrifice saved so many lives and killed the enemies of the country," Ray muttered.
"Aren't you exaggerating? The enemies would be caught anyway even if he wasn't here. The whole police force of this state was about to surround them. We would've taken them down even without his help," The Police Chief commented.
Ray glanced at the Chief and didn't respond. Only he knew that the enemy had probably planned for everything.

The Power of Ten: Book One: Sama Rantha, and Book Two: The Far Future
(Author's Note: If you're wondering about the views, it's +1.8 million more on Webnovel, its original home. Updated daily starting Dec. 26, 2018, and continued with Book Three.) Some time ago, a planes-traveling archmage made up a video game to train some people on the planet Earth for the catastrophe he knew was coming. That game was the Power of Ten. The gods seized this opportunity to take the templates of some of those characters, and even their souls, for use in other worlds, and other realms. Sama Rantha is one of those characters, and is going to find out that being a Hagchild and having to survive after your Hag Curse fails to murder you at birth is much, much less fun than setting it as your Race at level One on a gamescreen. Join Sama Rantha on her Road to Ten, and letting her Hagmother know exactly what she thinks of her... ------ Warning: This book starts with a HARD OPEN! It was written as an extension of other stories that have not made it onto the Internet yet for National Novel Writing Month in Nov/2018. Book One/Sama Rantha: A traditionalist LitRPG in the fantasy world vein. The beginning chapters will be heavy with gaming terms and the supporting math as Sama exploits the rules as much as possible, minmaxing her heart out to get one up on the world trying to kill her. The math and rules lawyering tapers off, but are never eliminated, as Sama is going to do everything she can to exploit the rules of reality here and not die, while making sure those responsible for this get exactly what is coming to them... ------ Book Two, The Far Future (starting Ch. 286): The Warp, the final frontier; in the grim darkness of a galaxy far far away, there came a hagchild...QX! Sci-fi/Fantasy/psionics mashup, grimbright clashing with grimdark! Sama is sent into a setting she'd rather not be in, but the heart of a powergamer never says no, even in the crapsack galaxy of the Tellurian Empire. BOOK TWO IS COMPLETE WITH 357 CHAPTERS AS OF 9/2020. ----------- Book Three (updating daily): The Human Race (next Book!) - Urban Fantasy world. Three Power of Ten gamers come together in a world under the Shroud of the Cancer of Death. Whatever might happen when they do, and what might they find there? Book Three is complete with 500 chapters: right here. Book Four: Power of Ten is dumped into the Marvel Universe. Surely there'll be no changes to canon when that happens? A Fanfiction variant, with teeth! Dynamo The Original Sama Stories: Being posted at: over in this location. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Discord link: in zis location is always up if I'm online. Author here (: This is my first time posting any of my works online, and I hope that you enjoy being welcomed into my world, as much as I enjoy creating it for you! I welcome any and all criticism, so long as it is actually something that can benefit my writing (not just random hating and nothing substantial). This story is edited by Nesryn and ArtemisArrow, my dear friends! The cover of this book is not my property, and if you are the actual owner of the image and would like me to take it down please PM me (: I am posting this to see if it generates any interest. If it does, then I will be planning on making more regular posts for chapters. I am intending this to be one book of a series, titled The Lost Royal. I intend to post, at this point, one chapter a week unless I get onto a roll! If this starts to accrue enough interest where I can start focusing solely on writing then more chapters will be released per week. Thanks for your interest, and I hope you enjoy!
