The first thing Kimberly saw when she walked out of the room was James leaning against the sofa, engrossed in his book. There was only a cup of black coffee on the small coffee table next to him. With a look, she could tell that he had not eaten.

"What are you looking at?"

Kimberly walked up and looked at the book cover. Looking at the cover, she recognized what book it was. She asked in surprise, "Hegel? Original text?"

"Yes, it's indeed more obscure and difficult to understand." James picked up a bookmark and placed it on the page. After closing it, he looked at her. "I'm hungry."

After spending the past two days together, Kimberly subconsciously replied, "Oh, then I'll go and cook. What do you want to eat?"

"That's not right! Why did you say I'm hungry so smoothly?" Kimberly rolled her eyes at him. "I still have something to ask you."

"Huh?"

"Are you participating in this variety show?" Kimberly took out her phone and opened the Instagram. She pointed at the post and asked, "This is the one."

James glanced at it and nodded. "Yes, is there a problem?"

"Yes... I don't think so... why did you participate in this? I was just asking, I definitely didn't mean anything by it."

"It's arranged by the company."

"Oh." Kimberly realized that this was indeed the most likely reason. After thinking for a while, it would be nice to have another friend, so she asked him, "Then what are you going to bring? Do you have a list for me to copy?"

"That's it?" James seemed to be a little disappointed that she didn't pursue the matter.

"What else can it be?" Kimberly was a little confused. "Should I go to your company and ask why they are sending you for the show?"

James shook his head. He didn't understand why he had joined this variety show. It was probably because he suddenly heard her mention it the other day and thought that she wanted to date someone else in front of the audience, he couldn't help but sign up impulsively.

"Let's finish eating and pack together? I remember we're leaving the day after tomorrow." James sighed at the thought of the variety show. "There's no point in climbing a mountain."

Kimberly was full of anticipation. After all, it was her first variety show. "You make a list first, while I'll go and cook."

After the two had finished eating, they took out their suitcases and started packing.

James looked at Kimberly waving the sunscreen in her hand and didn't know how to say it. He asked hesitantly, "Are you sure you want to bring me sunscreen from your suitcase in front of the entire cast and crew?"

When the two of them began to pack their clothes, James stopped Kimberly from putting her skirt and western shorts into her suitcase. He told her, "If you don't want to be bitten by the flying insects, you'd better take some long-sleeved pants."

"Is it that serious? Wasn't it a developed area?" Kimberly didn't expect this to be that serious. After all, in her memory, all the vacation villas were used to take photos and taste delicious food. At most, they would play billiards and swim together.

But she still trusted James more. After all, he was someone who could read the original version of Hegel. She immediately stuffed a few long-sleeved pants into her suitcase. After she was done, she looked at her suitcase and asked, "Did I miss anything?"

"I don't think so. Besides, if you bring too much, they will take it away for the show's effect. If you are worried, take a flashlight and an alarm."

"What's that for? How could I have it?"

James pointed at the cabinet at the entrance. Seeing the confused look on Kimberly's face, James continued, "It's in the third drawer of that cabinet over there."

Kimberly was utterly impressed by his cautiousness. She didn't care whether she needed it or not, just take it first.

She packed her suitcase and put it at the corner of the entrance. For some reason, the two suitcases, one pink and one blue, looked quite harmonious.

Soon, it was six o'clock in the morning on the departure day. Kimberly yawned and made two simple sandwiches. Using the time at breakfast, she quickly matched her story with James in advance.

The two of them pretended to live in the same neighborhood but did not know each other. In order to avoid suspicion, Kimberly even suggested that they wait for the crew's car at the east and west gates of the neighborhood respectively.
