The Vampire's Love: You Are My Destiny Chapter 242

Rebecca's face turned paper-white.
"Wait! Please, don't harm my babies inside my tummy! They're innocent!" she begged as fresh tears rolled down her face. Dammit!
She hated herself for being reduced into a crybaby. Without her power, she can't fight this powerful guy! She felt hopeless right now!
Zero allowed the pregnant woman to cry for a few minutes.
Rebecca raised her head and looked at the cold, emotionless guy's face. "Please have mercy on my babies! I have no idea where is my grandma hiding right now! She's just there working inside her shop peacefully until you came and brought your ring inside the shop. Then you claimed that she stole the ring! If you didn't come to the shop, she won't disappear!" she accused him.
Zero's face turned dark!
"What the hell! Are you insinuating that I am the reason why your grandma disappeared?" he growled.
"Exactly! If you didn't come to the shop, we would already be home last night! You are partly the one to be blamed for what's going on!" Rebecca continued blaming him.
"Open your mouth! Or else I will split your face open!" he ordered vehemently.
"Please don't do this! I begged you! I'll take you to my grandma's place! Maybe she's hiding there right now!" she said in a desperate voice.
Zero smiled. "Finally, you're talking! Get ready! After lunch, we're going to your grandma's place!" he said and disappeared from the room in the blink of an eye.
Rebecca was able to breathe again as huge relief washed over her. She and her babies are safe for now, but for how long?
What if she returns to that place and Granny Menedelia still not there?
What will the guy do to her?
He will probably kill her due to anger!
"Granny, please return to the house right now! If we arrived and you're not there, the guy will kill the twins!" she prayed fervently, hoping the old woman can hear her silent calling wherever she is right now.
Worrying about the safety of her twins and Granny's, everything is taking a toll on her. If she's going to stay longer in this place, she will go crazy for sure!
She sat on the bed and stared at the wall. She can feel her energy depleting fast.
Who can expect that such an ordinary day brings so many unpredictable events that she never thought would happen?
In just a blink of an eye, Granny was gone just like that!
She's gone with the wind!
She lay down on the bed and closed her eyes to give her weary mind a much-needed rest.
She dozed off and drifted into dreamland.
A few hours later.
She had awakened from her slumber.

It's already lunchtime.
Hera returned to the room. She brought another meal to the room. She put the tray on the table and glanced at the pregnant woman. She was looking at her with a blank stare, her eyes look red with so much crying.
"Eat your lunch. A few hours from now, the Lord will bring you somewhere. You better behave! Don't provoke him, he's easily irritated," she warned her.
Rebecca just looked at the food but didn't make any movement.
Hera sighed and vanished from the room.
After the white-haired woman disappeared from her sight, Rebecca left the bed and went to the table, she began eating her meal.
A few minutes later, she's done eating.
She stared at the wall. If only she can use her power right now, she will be out of this place in the blink of an eye. If only that guy didn't suppress her power!
She released a deep sigh. She rose to her feet and went inside the bathroom.
When she exited a moment later, the white-haired woman was already inside the room, retrieving the tray.
She looked at her. "What time the lord will come back here?" she asked.
Hera looked at her. "Get ready! He will come here any moment from now," she said and vanished from the room.
Rebecca went back to bed and sat on the edge, waiting for the guy to appear in the room.
Right now, she's feeling hopeful that Granny Menedelia was already waiting for her in the house. If not, she's dead meat!
Zero suddenly appeared inside the room and looked at her. "Are you ready?"
Rebecca nods her head. "Yes. Take me out of here!" she replied.
Zero waved his right hand at the pregnant woman, and together they vanished from the room.
They appeared above the manor, hovering in the air.
Zero was holding Rebecca's arm tightly. "We're invisible right now. Don't try to do something stupid, or else I won't be merciful to you. Show me the way!" he ordered.
Rebecca pointed at the northern part of the horizon. "Let's go over there!" she replied.
They zoomed towards the area at the speed of light.
They arrived at the forest a few minutes later.
They landed on the ground and walked for a few minutes, going deeper into the forest. Up ahead, they finally saw the wooden house.
They quickened their steps and entered the wooden gate, heading towards the house.
"Granny! Are you home?" Rebecca shouted.
They were greeted with silence.
"Granny! I'm back! Are you home?" she repeated.
Nobody answered.
Rebecca pushed the door open.
They went inside and investigate.
They have checked the house thoroughly, but no sign of Granny Menedelia there.

"She's still not here! There's no sign that she's here!" Rebecca said dejectedly. Tears shone in her eyes.
Zero looked at the pregnant woman and removed the bottle from the pocket of his jacket. "Time for your babies to die!" he said coldly.
Rebecca's face paled. Her body trembled in fright. "No! Please don't do this! I begged you! The babies are innocent!" she cried, fresh tears rolled on her face.
"You and your grandma are just making me look like a fool right now! Someone has to die and take the punishment!" he said, his voice devoid of emotion.
"Please...take me back to the shop! M-maybe, she's already there! If she's still not there. You can kill me and my babies instantly!" she said. She finally reached a decision, if the babies will die, then she's willing to die with them. Now that Granny Menedelia is also gone... what is the point of living if they're all gone?
Zero stared at the pregnant woman's face for a few seconds.
"Please, take me to the shop at once! If Granny is still not there, then go ahead, kill me on the spot! I'm willing to die this time to appease your anger!" she told him. Now that she's willing to die along with her babies, she's no longer afraid to be threatened by his death threat over and over again. She wants to go back to the shop to keep prolonging the inevitable. Maybe, Granny is already there in the shop waiting for her. She can only hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
Zero smirked. "Alright, since you ask for it! I'll give you what you're asking for!" he said and grabbed her arm.
They vanished from the house.
A few minutes later, they reappeared inside the shop.
Rebecca was deeply saddened because Granny is still not there. She searched the room at the back, still nothing. No indication that she had returned to this place while she was away. She released a deep sigh. She closed her eyes for a moment, gathering her strength to face the guy. 'Today is the day she's going to die!' she thought sadly.
Zero looked at her. "Open your mouth!" he commanded.
Rebecca shook her head. "No! If you want to kill my babies, then kill me as well! My life is nothing without them!" she said bravely.
Zero shook her head. "I won't kill you! I can still bargain your life with your grandma! I want the twin's life to appease my anger!" he said, his hand move and freeze the pregnant woman on the spot.
Rebecca's eyes widened. Oh, no! She can't move the rest of her body! The only thing she can move is her head!
Zero went to her side and opened the bottle, he took one brown pill and about to pop it into the woman's mouth when suddenly...
A bright light appeared out of nowhere and enveloped the whole room.
Rebecca and Zero both closed their eyes to protect their vision from the blinding light.
The light stayed for a few seconds and gradually faded away.
And when Rebecca opened her eyes, the guy was nowhere to be seen, and she was no longer frozen!
Her eyes widened in shock.
W-what the hell happened?
What's going on!?
Where is that heartless guy has gone to?
What was that light? Where did it come from?
Was that the same light that took Granny Menedelia away? And now it also took that guy away?
Although she had tons of questions running into her mind right now, she can't stay in this place! What if the light will return and took her away? She needs to flee and run far away from this place!
She immediately went in a flurry of activity. She went to the donation box and emptied its contents, dropping the coins in the bag along with her clothes.
She exited the shop and locked it outside. She hired a wagon going back to Granny's place to pick up the rest of her things and go hiding at once!
One hour later.
The wagon arrived at the entrance of the forest. Rebecca paid the wagoner her fare.
She immediately set forth on foot, going to Granny's place. She was kind of hoping that when she reached the house, her benefactor is already there!
She walked faster, wanting to reach her destination before the night arrives!
A few minutes later, she finally saw the roof of the house!
She finally arrived home!
She walked faster and reached the door in no time.
"Granny! Are you home? I'm home!" she said and pushed the door open excitedly.
No one answered her.
The house is quiet.
She checked the rooms, the kitchen, and the backyard, no one's home! She felt sad.
The longer Granny is out there somewhere, unable to come home only makes her worried that her life is in danger!
Her protector won't subject her to this difficult situation, especially that she's pregnant with the twins - unless there's something powerful out there that is holding her back from returning to the shop or this house.
She went inside Granny's room and looked around the objects there.
Granny's room was filled with all kinds of candles, there are big, thin, light colors and dark ones.
One of these candles can tell her if Granny is still alive or already dead!
Now, she had to remember which one?

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
