The Vampire's Love: You Are My Destiny Chapter 51

Nighttime...after dinner.
Neeza followed Laura into her room. The moment she entered the room she took the key from the pocket of her skirt and handed it to Laura.
Neeza sighed. "Miss Laura, do you have to do it? I'm afraid that Sir Nicholas will know about it," she said, fear mirrored in her eyes.
Laura smiled and stared at the key of Graven's house in her palm. She looked at the maid. "Shh...don't worry much. Just in case somebody will find out. No matter what happens, I'll tell them that I'm the one who took the key. You don't have to worry, okay? You go now and sleep early," she ordered.
"Okay. Anything else?" Neeza asked before going out of the room.
"What time usually the people here sleep at night?" asked Laura.
"The people here start sleeping between 9 to 11..." Neeza answered.
"How about Sir Nicholas and Cooper?" Laura asked.
"If Sir Cooper is not going outside, he usually sleeps at 10:00. Sir Nicholas sleeps early, usually every 9:00 in the evening," Neeza replied.
"Okay, thank you for your info, Neeza. You may go now," Laura said.
The housemaid exited the bedroom quietly.
Laura sat on the edge of the bed and stared at the key. She was hoping to find something in Graven's house that could prove her suspicion that Luke and Graven are the same people.
Although she was hurt that Luke ignored her completely and didn't even find ways to talk to her before leaving the mansion, she still believes that the two guys were connected to each other.
She put the key at the dresser table and reached for the hairbrush and began combing her hair.
A few minutes later, she finished combing her hair and styled it in a ponytail. She walked towards the window and stared at the darkness of the night and the twinkling stars on the horizon.

She's in this mansion now...running away from her supposed to be vampire husband...and about to get married to human, Cooper. Then all of a sudden she met his future husband's brother who looks exactly like Luke, the guy she falls in love with.
Things are getting complicated. She already conditions her mind to marry Cooper, but after seeing Graven, she changed her mind. If she will get married...between Graven and Cooper...she might as well go for Graven who got a striking resemblance with Luke.
Laura knows that if she will insist on marrying Graven, it would create a conflict in the family. But if Graven will insist on marrying her then half of her problems - already solved.
But it looks like Luke aka Graven is not interested in her. Maybe, he had a change of heart already? He told her that he's willing to marry her before? But why he refused to do so now? Why he left the mansion without talking to her first? His strange behavior deeply puzzled her. That is why she needs to find him and talk to him and find out if he is Luke or not?
She released a deep sigh.
She went to the closet and grabbed her hooded cloak and placed it on the chair on the corner.
She went to bed and lie down, waiting for the time to pass.
Few hours went by.
She found the time snail pace, she wanted the time to pass quickly! She's getting impatient.
Two hours passed.
She glanced at the clock on the wall.
It's past 11:30 already.
She waited until midnight...
As soon the clock strikes at midnight, she rose from the bed, picked up the key, and put it inside the pocket of her pants along with the mini-flashlight. She wore the cloak around her and covered her face with the hood. The cloak is a good disguise to hide her face just in case someone will wake up in the middle of the night and saw her outside.

She walked slowly out of her room going downstairs. She went towards the location of the kitchen and reached the door leading to the back of the house in no time.
The mansion was silent, all of its inhabitants were already sleeping soundly.
She walked quietly heading to her destination.
She arrived at the kitchen and walked towards the door grabbing the doorknob and opened the door slowly, careful not to make any sound. She stepped into the backyard and closed the kitchen door silently without locking it. Then she sauntered on the path leading to the mini-park.
Unknown to her, a shadow was observing her, a few meters away.
She walked straight towards Graven's house. Once she reached the door, she immediately inserted the key on the doorknob, it's done, she entered the house.
She turned on the flashlight and uses it to find her way into the two rooms. The first room was bare...she noticed that it looks empty, nothing to see there. She opened the closet and saw a few abandoned male clothes... but nothing interesting that caught her fancy. She exited the first room.
She went to the next room. She raided the closet and the drawers...she didn't find anything that can help her reach Graven.
Dang! She's getting frustrated. All her efforts tonight went to waste!
She exited the room and saw two tables in the corner and some chairs. She opened the drawers expecting to see some papers or post mail containing addresses...but found none.
Her search finally reached a dead end!
She bit her lip, getting frustrated every minute.
She pointed the flashlight around the living room, not much to see on the walls. Then the light landed on the mirror...she immediately avoided the mirror and directed the light to another area of the house.
She took a deep breath, shaking her head, frustrated that she can't find anything in the house that can help her contact Graven wherever he is right now.
She will try to seek Neeza's help and search for Sir Nicholas's study room, maybe the maid can find Graven's address there. That is only her last option, nothing else comes to her mind.
She was preoccupied...she didn't notice the shadow lurking in the corner.
"What are you doing here?" a male voice suddenly rang in the air.
Dang, she was caught!
Laura froze on the spot.
Her heart was beating erratically in her rib cage.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
