Chapter 1526 - Final I
"Are you ready?" Professor asked, and I nodded, and the next second I flew toward the Arena with Professor and others.
There are two new additions to our group; these two new additions are Councilwomen Marla and Councilman Harrison; they have come to Orcoz city in the morning.
I wish the teacher had also come, but she could not come due to her duties and will only able to watch the battle remotely; it sucked, but there is nothing I could do about it.
Five of us flew toward the Arena, and as we flew, cheers couldn't be heard from below. We are surrounded by drones, and our footage is being broadcasted to Billions of screens across the world.
It is very intimidating, but this past month was quite an experience that now I could keep my emotions contained without breaking a sweat.
A few minutes later, we have reached the Arena, but before I could go inside, I will have to deal with media, just a thought of that making my head hurt, but I sucked it up and walked toward them with the smiling face as I have been doing that for past few days.
It took me nearly an hour to answer their questions, but now I am finally free, no more questions, at least till my battle with Elijah is finished.
"You are getting better and better at dealing with them," Elina said as we walked inside the Arena, to that I could only smile. Yes, the past few days, I had become better with each try.
Soon, I spotted my parents at the entrance of the participant's area, they were alone, and as always, she did not bring my sister, the battles of Championsh.i.p.s are not for little children like her to watch.

Professor and others said their wishes before they left toward their station, and I walked toward my parents.
"You can't imagine how proud I see you reach this stage," Mother said as tears have appeared in her eyes. My mother had also participated in the Championship once upon a time and have even been able to reach the Top 5.
She would have been able to win the Championship. If not for higher-ups from her organization had forbidden her from using the Empire of Mist, if she had used that, then she would have been easily able to win the Championship.
From what I was able to find out, mother's Empire of Mist was lots stronger than that Joana; she had it for a much longer time.
"This moment is a very important part of your life, but there is more to life than this Championship, don't try too hard to win it," she said, and when she said it, her eyes became quite piercing as if they are looking at my soul.
"Yes, mother," I said; she indirectly asked me not to damage my base during the battle. Some people get too crazy during Championship battles that sometimes, they ended up damaging their base.
"Your opponent seemed pretty powerful. Can you defeat him?" My father asked bluntly, receiving a blaring glare from my mother, seeing that he smiled sweetly at my mother before she turned to me.
"I am not sure," I replied truthfully; I could still vividly remember the feeling I got from the Elijah yesterday, and even with such a great power upgrade, I am not sure whether I could defeat him or not.
"Do not pressure too much, and do your best; it will not matter to us whether you will win or lose," Father said as she patted me on my shoulder.

"Thank You, Dad," I said.
My father is a simple man with simple dreams; he does not wish to become a powerhouse to anything that most people, the only he had was to do his research in a quiet room.
"Best of luck, Micheal and your father said, don't stress about it too much, fight with a calm mind," Mom said as she hugged me.
A few seconds later, I let my parents and walked into the participant's area; this time, there is only one seat in the participant's area, and it is for me with my name flashing on it.
This participant area is only for me; as for Elijah, he is sitting on the other side arena. Since it is final, it is obvious they will sit us on the opposite side for the greater show.
As I entered the participant's area, the crowd cheered loudly. Today, their voice is brimming with power; to see the final, many powerhouses have come from afar, cheers from them have vibrated the whole Arena.
I waved at them before I sat in the Arena and looked at huge screens that are around the Arena; they are showing an advertis.e.m.e.nt of products to snippets of previous battles, they are even showing the probability of winning.
The probability of me winning is only 20%; when I saw it yesterday, I couldn't believe it as I did not expect it to be this lower; I had expected my winning probability to be at least to be 45%-50%.
My performance was no worst than him, we even got injured while there was not even blood on me during my battle with Ellen, but they still gave him 75% to 80% of winning.
The reason for my low assessment was that since Ellen and I are childhood friends, she did not get too heavy with me, and that gave me a chance to win.
What a bullcrap!
If anything, she was hard on me and more careful than she would have been against any opponent; I won that battle my merit and nothing else.
These bastards always underestimate me; in this battle, I will show them by winning; if I win, these bastards will earn a lot less money than they would have by me losing.
Cheer Cheer Cheer
Marla finally appeared wearing a shimmering long red gown, and seeing her appearance, the crowd let out a mad cheer as it is time for the final to begin.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Rise of the Godslayer
When Kan lost all his power to an accident four years ago, he thought the world of divine cultivation had closed its gate on him forever. Until a mysterious visitor offers him a cure and a chance to start over. As Kan resumes his training, he discovers that the visitor’s gift isn’t a simple gesture of kindness. Dark forces are at play and monsters lurk in the shadows, threatening not only his life but also the future of the entire Continent. Meanwhile, his power has become stronger than he could ever imagine, and there seems to be more to the accident that once took everything away from him. The truth behind these puzzles and the answer to who he truly is will bring a revelation that changes the course of mankind. --------------- Note: this is a crossbreed of cultivation and high fantasy. The world is heavily Asian-inspired (though not Chinese or Taoist), the characters level up through stage progression and secret weapon unlocking, and the main conflict centers around politics and gods/demons.
