Chapter 1198 - Monster Slaying III
Puchi!
My sword pierced through the Fiery Boar, and it fell on the ground dead. Killing it was a simple thing; in this fight, if any monster were a challenge, then it would be the shadows Lion.
Still, this fight had helped me very much; it helped me get control over my armor. If it had been a powerful monster, it wouldn't be an easy fight.
Dhud!
I had just picked up the monster carcass in my storage when suddenly ground beneath my feel collapse, and mouth came out of it, sensing that I flew up, and it followed me with great speed that nearly eaten my foot up.
"So, you finally came out," I said when I monster went up in the air, I did not care my foot being very close to the monster mouth, and it is inching closer to eat my foot.
I had known about this monster hiding in the ground; it had been one of the first monsters reaching my abode. If not for the snake monster breaking the wall, this yellow earth rat would have done it a second later.
It had been hiding in the ground, waiting for the perfect moment to attack, and when I had just stored the body of the monster, it attacked, wanting to guzzle me up.
The monster came down from earth as a mutated Yellow Earth Rat. It looked like a yellow earth rat in every aspect, except for its mouth, which opened unnaturally wide.
This monster is about the same size as the monsters that attacked me earlier, but its power is far greater; it is a High-level Prince stage monster compare to those Mid Level Prince Stage monster.
With both of us up in the air, it is perfect for me to test one of my improved moves.

"Roose Vine!" I said and vines released from my hands, and this time, there was an evident change in the vines could be seen vine, it is now very thin like a normal vine, not unnaturally thick as before, but it looked very vibrant as if it is born in the life energy-rich environment.
Vines came out of me very fast and started to spread around the Rat monster before it could do anything, and right when these vines bound the important part, the real magic began.
"Quueeeeeeee…"
A very squicky scream rang through the monster mouth as sharp thorns of vines dug into its hard skin, and the next moment, vines started to grow as if they are on steroid; in just three seconds, they have entirely enveloped it.
It is struggling intensely, producing earth spikes all over its body to get rid of the vises, but vines are having none of it. The vines are way too tenacious since they have unlimited vitality to harvest from them.
Yes, now the vines could harvest monsters' vitality to grow; this move is now not limited to special professional Grimm Monsters.
Ive been working on improving vitality sucking formation ever since the first day of the Fort Ardon battle.
My vine was able to suck Blood and everything of the Special profession Grimm Monster because of my Curse Constitution, which derived from the Sentient Curse Ive in me.
Due to it, my constitution works well against special energies as they stem from the common source, but if I were to do that with common Grimm Monsters, Monster and human, which I never use this move on, its difficulty increases dramatically.
Last time, I was not able to perfect formation and have a limitation of levels, but after I entered Fort Ardon, I had plenty of time to work with formation, and cooking in the Tome has given me much inspiration I needed to create this formation.

Unlike the formation I used on special formation Grimm Monster where I used the Curse Element of the constitution with Rule Bending power, this formation uses the Healing Element with Rule Bending power.
For the past few months, I had been trying this formation with Curse power, but it did not work; only after practicing the cooking in Tome did I get inspiration to use the Tome.
I touched the ball of the vine, and soon, it produced the gaps, and in those gaps, its head of the monster, which is wholly bound that not only could not move but also could not make any sound.
Puch!
With its head out, I pierce my sword into its head and give it release. As its head, the vines started to unravel from it and came back inside me while the monster's body fell dead on the ground.
The monster's body is in fine condition; there is no sigh of injuries except for the bloody hole in its skull. The vines took quite a lot of vitality off it, but no change could be seen of its body.
If this had been a normal monster of a similar stage, there would have been obvious signs of the vitality drain.
I looked at the body for a moment before I put them in my storage; the monsters born in cosmic energy-rich areas are always in high demand, no matter what species they came from.
I wish I could harvest the Monster into Roses as I do with special profession Grimm Monster, but I am far from reaching there. Nor could I do this with a monster or normal Grimm Monster, only special the profession Grimm Monster could be harvested by Roses currently.
Teacher would become very happy if I can harvest Battle Inheritance Grimm Monster into roses. The special profession is good but adds Battle Inheritance into that; it becomes even more impressive.
Just the types of Totem Artifact we would be able to craft from them would be amazing. The effects the Totem Artifacts will get from those roses will be envy-worthy, but unfortunately, that can't happen right now.
Complete harvesting is wholly different from using vitality or Blood for the growth; I will need to create an entirely different formation, which I am nowhere close to creating.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
