Chapter 895 - Asterisk
"We have reached our destination, be ready to jump down in five minutes." Mission Leader Clara's voice rang out.
Dhub!
I diffused the elaborate firework of the forest where the monsters were playing around and got out of my pod. As I did that, I pressed the fist-size badge on my chest, and the next moment, a chameleon suit appeared over my body.
This suit is given to me by the Guild for this special mission; it is crafted especially for the desert environment we are going to attack. This Chameleon Suit is very good, way better than the Chameleon Suit I used to have before.
As a suit appeared over my body, Ashlyn flew to my shoulder, and I walked toward the entrance. All seats have disappeared, so it is floor dividing them, now everyone is standing in the neat like ready to jump down.
Yes, for this mission, we are going to jump down from the high, not every mission required for us to go to the Hidden Camps before teleporting to the location that is near the Mission Point.
It all depends upon the level of participants, the Geography, the density of Grimm Monsters, and our target.
Our mission is to exterminate the Garrison, which is an asterisk type of the Garrison, which means monsters there are of different tribes, and there we will likely to face 150 to 200 thousand Grimm Monsters.
From the point of the jump, it is 250 Kilometers away, which is not far us as all of us here are at least the Peak Golden Elite, which could easily cover the distance in a few hours.
Gust!
"Its Time." Clara's voice rang out, and that exact moment, the temperature inside the ship started to rise at the visible rate, but at the next moment, it plummeted rapidly as the door or airship opened and a gust of the very very Cold winds started to come inside.

These winds are very cold and even with sh.i.p.s thermal protection, they can make Golden Elites shudder in the cold and this is the starting, the real challenge starts when one jumps down.
This is why the minimum requirement of a jump down mission is Peak Golden Elite as others won't be able to handle the cold and ship can't fly low; it had to be flown at this altitude or above to be not detected by the sensors of the Grimm Monster.
Clara went down first after her Platinum Elites started to jump down one after another before they jumped in and now it is my time, I too walked toward the door of the Airship before jumping after a second of hesitation.
Cold, freaking Cold!
These were my first thoughts as I jumped down, I have an insulating effect of the suit I am wearing, and I am also covering my body with Sunfire, but despite that, I am feeling cold.
The ship was too high, at such an altitude, the temperature is very low, a normal low-level Golden Elite would just freeze to death in just a second after coming in contact with such cold.
Even though I am feeling cold, I did not forget what I had to do as I jumped down, I activated the void boots and started to fall down in feather fashion, I am not the only one doing that, every person who had jumped down doing that despite the cold I am feeling.
This type of landing has an official name, and that is called 'Featherfall,' and I have attended a week of specialized training from the Guild about learning the feather fall and that training, they have thrown us out from a higher height than we are falling right now.
After ten minutes, I have landed on the sand without making a sound. As I did, I looked around the night sky, which had become completely dark just half an hour ago.

To be honest, I am very disappointed in the weather as it is too calm; one could not hear the faintest wind. In the desert mission, I like it when there is the wind; even more, if there is a small Storm, that kind of weather makes it very easy to sneak into the enemy's camps.
But they are not the perfect time to launch the attack as Grimm Monster extra cautious in those days, a night like today is the best time as it is an average night where no Grimm Monsters would be extra careful, they are the best days for the attacks and today is the one such night.
Though they may be perfect for the attack, that does not make the attack easier; it made it even harder as there is no interference of the weather; one has to be very, very cautious for not to be discovered by them.
"Let's divide into teams," said Clara and divided into nine teams, eight teams will deal with the Eight Asteric points while the team lead by the Mission Leader Clara will attack the central point of the asterisk.
As the teams finalized we went, we started our journey with each team taking a different direction from each other.
My team had Eighty-seven people; eighty are the Peak Golden Elite from the Elite Brigade, and six, including me, are from the Excelsior division while the leader of the team is Platinum Elite from Team 22.
He is quite a young man with a bald head; he did not say a word since we started our journey toward the Garrison; all he did was talk with sign language. I wanted to discuss a few words with him, but seeing his gloomy face, I let go.
As we traveled, I kept my senses active, which not only helped me sense the enemies but also my teammates, and from it, I was able to find an interesting thing about this gloomy team leader of mine.
He is likely to have broken his limit a few days ago, and there is slight unbalance could be sensed in his aura; it is not detectable to others, but I who had researched everything I could about the Platinum know it too well.
This makes sense; last time, when I've done a mission with Team 22, this young man was not a part of the team.
Though the young man is silent, he has the strong senses, and he is leading us effectively, expertly avoiding any patrol of the Grimm Monster we had come across, even when the patrol became denser he led us toward the camp without being discovered.
Through the night we crossed one dune after another and finally when there were only three hours remaining to dawn, we reached the base of the Grimm Monsters.
The base of the Grimm Monster is ten kilometers ahead of us, we could not see it as it is hidden under several layers of the camouflaging devices, but I can see it very clearly through the Ashlyns eyes who are flying above their base.
I could see the camp in the shape of an asterisk; it is divided into nine parts.
A big central Sphere surrounded by eight medium Spheres all of which connect to the central Sphere by pipeline like connection.
The whole camp is the size of a small city which made me even more sure that we will be facing near two hundred thousand Grimm Monsters for sure.
