Monster Integration Chapter 836

Chapter 836 - Discussion
When I woke up, I felt really good, all the exhaustion and bone-deep tiredness I was feeling yesterday had simply vanished.
Seeing two hours before the meeting started, I quickly freshened up and guzzled another medicinal monster core and started practicing again.
Usually, I would have cooked before I started to practice or if there would have been time constraints, I would cook first and practice later, but now I am not doing that now.
Now, I want to practice every moment and increase my strength, which I think I would. Yesterday's battle stimulated my growth, and since I already have the potential to become Adamantine, I just have to keep acc.u.mulating as I did that, I will keep improving at faster pace.
Soon I reached my limit and fell on the floor exhausted, I lay on the floor like dead fish for a minute before I got up and walked toward the shower and after I returned, I took out packaged food and ate with Ashlyn.
Like her, I also don't like packaged food, but since I don't have time to cook here, I have to eat packaged food begrudgingly. It's not like packaged food is not good, it is delicious, but since I had a habit of eating fresh and hand-cooked, I don't much like eating packaged food.
Still, I will buy some packaged food, the food that the team leader served in the meetings was delicious, I will have to ask her from where did she get her food, once we finished with our food.
After I finished my food, there were only twenty minutes remaining till the meeting. So I decided to spend that twenty minutes brushing Ashlyn's coat, which I had not done in a few days.
Fifteen minutes passed by, and finally, I put the brush down and walked out of my room with Ashlyn.

When I reached the conference room, I found nearly everyone had arrived, except for a leader and six others. This time when I arrived, these people seemed a lot more friendly, and some of them even gave me a small smile, but nobody talked to me.
Their behavior seemed quite surprising to me before as when new members appeared on the team, everyone would talk to him but it was the opposite, it seemed here nobody is interested in talking to the rookie.
I had first thought they did not like or some other reason like this, but it is not. As I observed their behaviors more, I found there is no dislike or hate in their eyes for me, it's just that they are not talking to me for some reason.
After much thinking, the only reason I could think of their behavior is that there is a smoking test for a rookie or something like that, so unless the rookie had not done that thing, they would not talk to him.
Well, whatever the test or requirement they had, I think I am scoring quite fine. Ashlyn and I had wiped out nearly one-third of the camp yesterday, though what we have killed were weaklings, but they were a shitload of weaklings that would have been immensely troublesome for the team to deal with.
One by one, all the remaining people have come, and when there is one minute remaining, the leader has also come.
"Let us take one minute of silence for Calvin, who made great sacrifice yesterday." said the leader as she stood up solemnly with everybody else, including me.
"May his soul rest in peace." said the leader after one minute of silence, and everyone repeated what they said. Most of the adventures are Atheist, but some still believe in illusory God in time like this.

"Yesterday's battle went well, except Calvin, who lost his life regretfully everyone came out without much loss."
"The numbers were higher than the estimate that the Guild had given us, but we were still able to exterminate them." The leader said, looking at her expression, it can't be said whether she is happy or sad about the result.
"It is all the Guild's fault we had not lost Calvin if our team had been in the full strength of Fifty two," complained Eight Star Golden Elite.
"Seth, why are you complaining, if you did not like taking a risk, then why did you join the death brigade with our bunch of criminals." another Eight Star Elite mocked.
"You should have joined the Elite Corps instead. Oh wait, you did not have a qualification to join Elite Corps; otherwise, you would not have joined the dirty criminals like us," he added before he started laughing hysterically.
Hearing his laugh Seth's face turned red and about to open his mouth to say something when the loud voice of the team leader rang in.
"Enough, before coming here, both of you did not have the ability or talent to get into the Elite Corps, so shut up." said the team leader loudly, and both of them shut up as they know it is true.
Before becoming Criminal, I also had the dream of entering Elite Corps, Rachel had told me all about Elite Corps in the Milfred.
Elite Corps, as its name suggests, is the force made of powerful people. The people who were able to get inside it are best of best, could easily kill people of their level in a single attack.
Those who can get into the Elite Corps are the most fortunate as they did not have to waste a thought or penny about the resources.
The Guild provided them all; everything they need will be provided to them, including the limit breaking method. If one is very, very talented, then even Art and powerful inheritance are not off the table.
But it is extremely difficult to get into, in the city where more than Hundred Million people reside, there are not more than five thousand of these Elites present from there one could guess how strict criteria there is for Becoming the Elite.
The people of Death Brigade hate those people from the Elite corps to death as the Elite Corps have everything while Death brigade barely has anything.
Compared to the Elite Corps, who always have fully staffed teams and every new artifact their disposal.
The death brigade is the opposite of them; we never truly have full teams and advanced artifacts, which made people of the death brigade hate the Elite Corps so much.
"I want to give special thanks to our new rookie and his Partner Ashlyn who alone finished nearly one-third of Grimm Monsters. If it was not for them, we might have lost a few more people." The leader said suddenly as she looked at me and Ashlyn, who is nestled in my shoulder.
Her praise was unexpected as I thought she would go over yesterday's battle before talking about the 2nd part of the mission, but she had unexpectedly praised me.
Ashlyn, who nestled on my shoulder, understood everything but did not react to everything as she knew if she said anything, people would come to her and pet her which she did not like.
So, she stayed on her face unreacted while everyone looked at her with adoration and me with jealousy as what Ashlyn had done could not be done by the common monster even Leader's cat monster paled in front of her.

Eleknar's Heir, The Infernal Prince (Demonic LitRPG)
A LitRPG and Epic Fantasy adventure: The son of a mafia boss finds himself abruptly plunged into an alternate world where he must find a way to survive the horrors of a realm called Oblivion, make pacts with demons, form unnatural friendships, and figure out what the hell is going on – all while dealing with the depressing reality of his past. An artificial intelligence has ascended into godhood and has thrown Trey’s home into Chaos, pulling millions of people into an enchanted new life... or, in Trey's case, a violent nightmare. As far as he can tell, he is locked into what the system prompts call a ‘Death Game.’ Here, artificial reality is manufactured for the enjoyment of a being called the All Spirit, and he has a very real chance of truly dying. Just how real is this place though? Is it merely a simulation, a realistic game of life and death… or is it something much more? Elves, dwarves, undead, and other races only thought to exist in fairy tales are now a reality. Black magics, pantheons of gods at odds with one another, predatory symbiotes, and an unholy calling, the significance of which he has yet to grasp, are all entangled with his fate. ============================================ ============================================ Some things to expect when reading this book series: - Brutal storyline where no character is safe and choices have real consequences. Heavy on action, survival, and adventure - An isekai. The main character struggles to find himself, repeatedly crossing the line between good and evil as other important characters influence his life - Harem (explicit), though this only starts about 180k words in. - Good amounts of crafting, town building, and guild building later on - Good amounts of fantasy-related LitRPG stats, rank ups, and evolutions. Heavy focus on demons and black magics - There will be many points of view, but there is only one primary/main character that takes up 90% of the POV - A long storyline. Currently (as of 7/26/2021) I have about 1500k words written, though much of it will have to be heavily edited and re-written. I also plan to go far beyond 1500k words if people like the story (A lot of it is also in the 'backstories' book that explores the guildmates, the link is below) - Chapters will have an average of about 4k-5k words, a little longer than most other books on RR, though there will be exceptions for more and less. I just didn't like posting chapters that didn't feel complete, and 2k words often felt like too little. - If you like super-heroic and goody-goody characters, this story is not for you. ***Updated once a week***

The cover is commisioned and done by: Artist: FatCatInTheBox ***** Before you lot bashes me up with my English etc., consider this: 1. This is my first novel. First conceptualized and written some 23 years ago. Only until last year that I did some improvisations and improvements to what I had kept in the dusty corner of my room all these while. This story sees the light of the day because I challenged myself, that's all. 2. English is the 6th language that I speak. And in RRL, I'm using British English mostly to write my story. 3. Easier said than done. Rather than subjecting me to subjective comments/reviews about the language, point it out and suggest an alternative. One or two would do just fine. It goes a long way. The Pledge - This story shall continue till it ends properly.
