As the runes became resplendent, a thin forcefield started to rise from the boundary of the Runic formation until it enveloped the whole formation, a dome of force field had completely covered the whole formation and Rachel inside.

I am quite shocked seeing the forcefield being erected, such formations are very, very rare and usually kept secret, and even if people know about the formations that could create the forcefield, they would not prefer to use it, as the runic forcefield consumed too much of the energy.

Those who have to create the forcefield usually buy artifacts to create it, though the defense it provided will not be much compared to what Runic forcefield could offer; using them will be much more energy-efficient.

The first few minutes after the force field erected, nothing had happened, but suddenly a faint colorless smoke started to rise as the Mana crystals began to melt and turned into colorless smoke.

The speed of their melting is slow but consistent as within fifteen minutes all mana crystals, millions of them had melted and created the thick fog in the forcefield, that I could barely make out the silhouette of Rachel who was sitting inside.
