Monster Integration Chapter 240

Fuck, I am leveling up!
I waited for this for months, in this past week, since Ashlyn got the feeling, the wait had been excruciating.
All my friends level up, even Ellen who was just at Initial level had leveled up to the peak level much less jill and Jim who both leveled up to Corporal stage.
This level up going to give me a big boost in competition but before that, I had to survive from the mace that is coming toward me.
Using all my willpower, I again moved my shield in front of me despite being my arm injured due to an earlier attack.
"Bamm!" "Puh!" "Crack!"
His spiked sand mace again hit against my shield hard, injuring me both externally and internally.
The only good thing this time is that I was well prepared and used this blow to create distance between us.
I quickly drank life potion to heal my injuries quickly knowing, he will soon since the fluctuation of me level up and attack me without holding back, defeating me before I completely level up.
Its good thing that I was prepared and brought a unique potion from the Jim.
At normal speed level up took around fifteen minutes and if I drink life potion the time will cut to five minutes but ten minutes are still more than I can't handle.
I had predicted that there may be a chance me being level up during the battle and that is why I brought Accelerate Level Up Potion.
As it names suggest, it is a potion that helps in accelerating process of level up.
The ten minutes which were going to take me after life potion now would take me just two minutes.
In exchange of such acceleration process, I had to experience some uncomfortable feeling that it produced.

As I was flying back from the blow, I quickly took out a small red bottle from my storage and pop it all in my mouth.
As the liquid entered my mouth, I started to feel the uncomfortable sensation of thousands of ants crawling all over my body.
If not for the pain of Supreme Combat Exercise helping that numbing sensation a little, I would have surely gone crazy by it.
I really want to curse him right now, he said that sensation will be minutes and would not affect me in battle.
My ass! I cursed when I thought that, with this sensation, I would have hardly able to ignite the jets without failing.
"Oh fuck!" I cursed when I saw sand George coming toward me with his sand spiked mace.
From his ferocious expression, I could tell, he had definitely sensed that I am leveling up and he will surely want to beat me before I could completely level up peak level.
I have to do something if that mace hit, I will surely be heavily injured as he is using all his power this time, I won't able to survive much time after that blow.
Seeing there is no option left, all I can do is make that idiotic choice as that was the only option for me safely level up.
Without wasting any time, I started to feed the mana to shield, it felt a little painful doing that as all the mana in my body is going toward my leveling up.
I took a huge sip of life potion as I am expanding the shield and painful sensation, I felt go away instantly.
A huge smile could be seen on my opponent face as he is swinging his mace at me.
''Bamm!" "Thud thud thud!"
His spiked mace hit my shield with all I took the three steps back without any injuries.

His mace used to injure me both internally and externally, whenever it hit my shield but now all it made me take three steps back.
It happened because of the defensive power of the shield.
When shields size increased to the limit, not only it gave it covered the large area but its defensive power also increased by several times.
That is why expanded shield considered as the ultimate defense.
''Hehe!" He did not seem sad seeing his attack became harmless as he continued the attack on my shield.
He probably thinking about his win as in 80% cases whenever specialist stage evolver expands his shield to maximum, his chances of losing also increased very much.
The expanded shield is mana guzzler, it keeps buzzing mana faster than mana potion could produce.
He is probably thinking, I will be out of mana in a few seconds as I am now going through a level up and also provide mana for the expanded shield but he is very wrong.
I am not drinking normal a mana potion during the battle to provide me with mana but life potion.
Life potion is known as one of the best options for both providing the mana and healing the injuries.
In these three months, Jim kept his promise and gave me a fixed amount of life potion bottle.
Except for giving some bottle to my parents, I only used life potion one time in these three months while other times I healed my injuries with the normal healing potion.
Now, I have enough supply of life potion to last me for the whole battle much less two minutes that I have to wait for my level up.
"Bam Bam Bam….." he kept attacking me every second and I just took a few steps back that's all.
As time passed he seemed surprised seeing no chance in my expression, he is probably expecting me to see all tense and scared but there was no change in my expression.
He suspected something wrong but that did not stop him from keeping attacking.
He kept attacking without stopping and tried every skill he has.
He even tried using some crafty methods to attack me at my undefended spot but it was all for naught.
He attacks are fast but I defended quite easily as I only have to one thing which is defended.
My one whole side is covered with shield and I just have to move my shield at coming attack.
As long as I am vigilant I am confident in defending any attacks he launched at me.
This strategy is only used against a single opponent if there were two or more then I would have lost seconds ago as I could only defend my one side wholeheartedly and my other sides are wide open for attack.
As time passed, the effects his attack is being lessened.
When the minute is over, I only had to take a step back to diffuse the blow.
The change in my body happening extremely fast but I can still feel the strength coursing through my body.
Every part of my body is energizing due to level, not only mana capacity of my body is advancing but also is my physical aspect.
In this whole Fifty people, I was the only one was at Mid-level of the specialist stage while all others were at peak stage.
All of them had the advantage of a level against me but not anymore as I felt my level up is complete.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
