Lady Boss, Please Spoil Your Husband! Chapter 320

"It's been many years since she's gone missing. Who could've expected Grandmaster Yang, of all people, found her." Han Taiyi wondered.
"That's what bothers me!" Death incredulously declared. "How could he, when even I, Soaring Dragon's god of martial arts, and my Junior Sister, second only to me, could not."
Lillie choose to pay no attention to his backhanded compliment.
"I heard it was one of grandpa's direct disciples."
"Pah! You mean one of those impudent brats, who are still wet behind the ears, beat us?! Me?!"
Lillie and Ethan mentally applauded Death's acting.
Yang Nina was nonplussed. Here she is, witnessing one of her benefactors blatantly disparaging her grandfather's direct disciples.
Just how deep is this animosity between her grandfather and Grandmaster Wei that even their respective direct disciples hate each other too?
"Who was it? Who? Who? Was it that cockroach, Gong Hei?"
Ethan blinked. Gong Hei?
"Quell your anger, Senior Brother. It's rude to sully other people's names in the presence of guests." Lillie indifferently sipped her tea.
So it's alright when there's no other people? Meh, sounds about right.
The atmosphere in the pavilion calmed down after Lillie's gentle chastising. Everyone continue to sit back, enjoy the cool breeze, the scenery, and especially the sumptuous treats Grandmaster Wei prepared for them.
What a kind soul he is, bless him.
Now Han Taiyi know which Grandmaster she'll choose if ever she has the privilege to pick one of them.
She'll have to work harder if she hope to catch the attention of the most difficult one to impress.
"Speaking of Lillie Bai, Ah Lizheng and I had actually met her before." Han Taiyi suddenly mentioned. "And the rumors about her being all bad and vicious seem to be false."

Since their topic fell to that missing girl from years ago—Yu Mei, and the suspect of her disappearance, Lillie Bai—she couldn't help but divulge a little story to her new friends.
This is also a good material to continue the flow of their talk over a cup of tea.
"Really? When did you two met her?" Yang Nina's curiosity pique.
"We were on our first S-class mission two year prior." Chu Lizheng answered.
"How did you knew it was her? I thought it was not until recently since she appeared in public." Ethan inquired thoughtfully, speaking for the first time in their little get together.
His wife didn't mentioned ever meeting these two before. Ethan discreetly glance at her from his peripheral vision.
Was that a genuine look of interest on her face, or was it just her impeccably good acting? Guess he'll have to ask her later.
"Hehe, it was an interesting encounter, as if coming straight out of an action movie." Han Taiyi lightly bragged.
"Action movie?" Death parroted.
Han Taiyi nodded excitedly. "Our mission was to investigate a luxury bar for criminal activities. Our client was the owner of the bar and he worries there's something illegal going on under his nose."
"Something like that did happen, didn't it?"
"It did, it did!" Han Taiyi squealed, clapping her hands. "We found the den of those nasty gangsters while they were in the middle of drugs transaction. We burst in like kool aid man, then Ah Lizheng and I jumped around everywhere to dodge bullets and kick their fat asses."
Sweet little Yang Nina was in awe. Her eyes widen and twinkled like the stars, and her mouth gaped to exclaim, "Oohhh!"
The adults chuckled fondly at the young girl's pureness and Han Taiyi's rather amusing description.

"Here's where the most interesting part happens."
In Han Taiyi's memories, she remembered running after the hoodlums who tried to escape. She and Chu Lizheng had to split up to catch all of them quickly.
Utter chaos transpired as the whole place was covered by shrill, frightened screams of the bar's rich customers.
While she chase after the rest of the hoodlums, they suddenly went inside one of the VIP room.
Dread churned her guts, already picturing the sight that'll greet her once she enters.
Her speculation was unfortunately accurate. The hoodlums held the important looking guests inside the VIP room hostage, guns pointing at their heads.
Most of the guests looked really frightened; the elderly, to be exact. Han Taiyi assumed they were businessmen who were in the middle of a very important meeting.
But what caught her attention the most were the youngest in the group; two foreign-looking individuals, a man and the only woman.
There's not a single trace of fear nor panic from those two beautiful creatures. The blonde haired man was peacefully calm, while the ash-blonde haired woman was cold and deadly calm.
Just looking at those icy blue eyes made her want to shiver even if they weren't directed at her.
"Take one more step and these people's brains will explode." The hoodlum holding the ash-blonde haired woman grinned as he cocked the gun on her head.
"Hey, boss, that one's very pleasing in the eyes. How about we keep her after we're done here?" One of them suggested, lecherously ogling the woman his boss was holding.
"They look really important too. These people must be loaded, especially this little missy."
"What's a pretty woman like you doing with these geezers? If you want fun, we would gladly accommodate."
"I wonder how much we'll get if we ask for ransom from their family?"
Han Taiyi was in a difficult situation. She can't attack without assurance that the guests would come out unharmed or even alive.
She miscalculated real bad.

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.

Digital Immigrant
This is the story of how James Allen Quick and Sarah Lynn Abernathy died. By 'died', I mean that their hearts stopped, their brains ceased sending electrical impulses, and all other physical functions terminated. Immediately after which, their bodies were placed into an industrial furnace, reduced to ash, and the ash was spread about in one of the last forest reserves in North America. As ash-spreading locations go, this ranked third. First and second places were, of course, a person’s favorite athletic team’s playing field and the sea. Or rather, I should say that this is how the story begins. You see, it’s what came after that is so interesting.
