Lady Boss, Please Spoil Your Husband! Chapter 196

Laughter echoed through the dim theatre as another funny scene was acted by the artists in the movie.
While the two seats occupied by two distinguished people stared at the screen with a deadpanned expression.
"This is funny?"
"I suppose...?"
"So making oneself look stupid is suppose to be funny?"
"I suppose..."
"Hmm...they are doing a good job. However, I don't find it funny."
Dear wife...forgive me but...you're not exactly someone who has a good sense of humor...
...or a sense of humor in general...it's just nonexistent in your person.
Besides, aren't we here to enjoy the movie? Why did you turn into a judge all of a sudden? Well, if my wife don't find it funny, then Sunrise Entertainment need to make their artists do a better job next time.
If the people of Sunrise Entertainment heard his statement, they would cry and vomit blood at the injustice.

Exiting the cinema, the two roamed the mall until they stopped by the many rows of different food stalls.
"Want something?" Ethan asked, noticing his wife eyeing the glistening chocolate donuts.
"En." She uttered, pointing at the donuts with longing. She isn't the She-Devil CEO today.
No no, she's just a normal adult woman having a date with her boyfriend. So she didn't have to restrain herself from indulging her sweet tooth.
Yeah, just a normal girl...who's anomalously prettier than the average female population...
"Alright, alright, we'll get your donuts." Ethan let out a chuckle. He was well aware of Lillie's love for sweets as he was the one sends her favorite box of chocolates.
Seeing another cute side of her made the smile on his face remain.
If you put his CEO mode face beside his smiling face, no one would believe that they are the same person. They would just assume he had a twin brother who's more cheerful and outgoing; generally his complete opposite.

"Excuse me. I would like to buy two boxes of these." Ethan said to the cashier, pointing at the delicious rows of chocolate donuts.
"Make that four." Lillie intervene.
Ethan looked at her in puzzlement.
"We'll bring some for the others back home. I'm sure Nanny Ying would love them." Lillie enlightens.
"Oh, right. I'm sure she would." Nanny Ying would love whatever people give to her anyway.
"Four boxes it is. That'll be a total of $50." The cashier happily said. His co-worker already went up to fill each boxes with a dozen donuts before carefully handing it to their generous customer.
"Thank you for your generous transaction! Please come again soon!" They said in unison as they wave goodbye.
"We should buy some drinks first since we're eating sweets." Lillie eagerly pulled Ethan by his sleeve and towards a cafe they passed a while ago.
There are so many things Lillie had experienced today so no one could really blame her from being so excited.
"May I have your names please?"
"Lillie."
"Ethan."
"Okay. One venti iced peach green tea for Lillie and a grande iced black tea for Ethan." A handsome barista wrote their names without much thoughts on their cups and hand it to another barista who stared at their names incredulously.
The female barista who held the cups lifted her head to take a double look at the two.
"A-ah...L-Lillie B-Bai...a-and E-Ethan L-Li?" She mumbled to herself in disbelief.
"Hey! Stop dallying and finish those drinks! We have more coming up!" Another barista snapped their co-worker back to reality.
The female barista's body went autopilot and automatically made the drinks. Her mind was still elsewhere as she unconsciously gave the drinks to another co-worker.
"One venti iced peach green tea for Lillie and a grande iced black tea for Ethan!" The barista announced.
"That'll be us." Lillie went for the drinks. Ethan stood behind her, carrying the boxes of donuts.
"Here are your orders, miss. Please come back again soon!" The barista said with a smile, completely unaware that he had done something to make every customer stop what they were doing.

Dark Matter
In the year 2023, scientists investigating the nature of dark matter caused a blackout throughout the entire world of Coranth. With this blackout came the appearance of supernatural and near-magical elemental abilities able to be wielded by all. By harnessing the dark matter in the environment, even ordinary humans now accessed powers that would have been deemed fantasy. These abilities include Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, and Terra, being the five natural elements of which dark matter is absorbed by the planet itself. Additionally, the two moons orbiting Coranth offer the "Superior" elements of Dark and Light. The year is now 2041, and Dark Matter will follow the story of an adolescent boy named Raiden Sullivan in a dystopian future, 16 years old, eldest of 2, and son to Marcus Sullivan. Raiden is an intelligent young man belonging to a poor family with an absentee mother. He partakes in daily chores to cover living expenses after school and his home life is surrounded by his caring father and younger sister. In truth, this is my take on urban fantasy with slight LitRPG that keeps the "magic" elements somewhat scientific for a more realistic story. In using the dark matter surrounding our universe, humans can now harness elemental abilities as well as absorb dark matter from the beasts/monsters to further strengthen their abilities. For the most part, that'll be the main premise of the power system. Full transparency, this will be the first story I write and also the first story I publish, so please be patient with me. For some context, I'm an avid reader and after 4 or so years of only consuming, I feel that it might be time to try my hand at writing instead. Please feel free to add your opinions and criticism, it would be much appreciated. With that said, I hope you enjoy Dark Matter!

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
