Lady Boss, Please Spoil Your Husband! Chapter 97

Lillie and Ethan watched in either fascination or disgust...or maybe both. Across the table was Death, loudly gulping down his tenth bowl of ramen as if he hasn't eaten for weeks, which was probably the case.
Lillie should've asked to be seated at a different table along with Ethan. People had been staring at them for almost an hour. Her hand covers her face in embarrassment.
She failed to remember that her Senior brother was such a glutton.
"Is this why you decided to open that pathetic store of yours?" Death ignored the blatant insult and nodded, raising his hand for another bowl at the waiter, whom stood at their side because he already knew that Death will order again after two minutes.
"If it's not obvious enough. I haven't had a proper meal for two weeks because I was short on cash. I would never expect that the money I brought with me was just enough to fly me to France." He grumbled, remember the embarrassing scene back at the airport where he had to count a bag of coins just to have the cheapest ticket.
His flight was, by far, the worst he had ever experience. It was the first time he had to seat in the economy class, where people would give him strange glances every now and then. He sat beside a unhygienic man with a stinky feet, a woman in front of him had her hair sprawled behind her seat, and an annoying brat kicking his seat from behind.
Some kid even had the nerve to call him a handsome grandpa.
The kid was lucky because there was a word 'handsome' on her sentence. If not, he'll probably blow the plane in mere seconds.
"Because I was in a rush in...ahem..leaving, I haven't got the time to drag my piggy bank and smash it into smithereens." A bowl was placed in front of him again and he began to devour the scrumptious noddles.

*Slurp* "Plus...my allowance was cut off by half because of some petty reasons."
"Let me guess, you beat a student until rendered comatose." Lillie deadpanned.
Death slammed his hand with an angry expression. "That bastard deserve it! Calling me underserving of being the number two?! Heck, he's right! I deserve the number one! You've already graduated, why the f*ck do I still get to be number two?!" He complained, spits flew from his mouth. Good thing the table was quite long; the spit not reaching them.
"My presence caused a great impact that it will be forever encrypted into every literature in the Academy and into students mind." Lillie said, nonchalantly sipping her tea while Ethan nodded in agreement. There's not even an ounce of humbleness in her tone
"Of course, my rank won't be easily stolen." She added.
Death froze for a moment before resuming eating. "I guess you're right." He said to himself. He was fighting a loosing battle if he choose to argue with Lillie.
A small smile made its way on Lillie's lips. She was eternally grateful to Death. If not for him, she would not be where she was today. No power, no titles, nothing.
So, she will not mind if he told her to buy him a simple meal. Lillie knew that Death will never take her for granted, he will not use her, exploit her for things that greedy humans desire.
He's simply a sweetheart. The kindest person you'll ever meet, even though he doesn't show it in an obvious way.
Though, everyone have a dark side and Death's not exempted. True to his name, Death will also be your worst nightmare, the enemy you wouldn't want to have.
He can be a teddy bear to his love ones and a total monster to his opponents.

He's not called the Underworld's God of Death for nothing.
No one, except for Lillie, knew what the God of Death looks like. Because, whoever saw him, will not live to tell the tale. Not even Ethan knew that the person he...harassed...was actually the infamous leader of the Underworld's Reapers.
Even if he knew, he couldn't care less. He's the real Vermillion Dragon after all.
That's also one of the difference between the real Vermillion Dragon to the fake one. Ethan feared no one while She Gu feared the Reapers and the God of Death because of their power and superiority to the Underworld.
She Gu, from the start, was already fighting a loosing battle with the Reapers, God of Death and the real Vermillion Dragon on her side. He's just an insignificant cannon fodder in her story.
Why can't she just end him, you ask?
Well, Lillie's simply a sadist who enjoy seeing her enemies' life fall in misery, slowly.
A loud burp interrupted Lillie's reverie, her eyes snapped open towards the cause.
"Hehe...excuse me." Death sheepishly rubbed the back of his head and grinned.
Ethan grunted at the disturbance. He was enjoying Lillie's warm body leaning on his shoulder. She must've not realized that she'd fallen asleep. And because of their companion's loud burping, Lillie sat up, the warmth left.
Death enjoyed seeing Ethan's annoyance. He purposely made that disgusting sound to wake his Junior sister from her nap. He felt guilty, but not for Ethan but for waking Lillie up.
Nonetheless, changing Ethan's content look into annoyance was worth it.

Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. It was among Shakespeare's most popular plays during his lifetime and along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays.
