Lady Boss, Please Spoil Your Husband! Chapter 95

"How the f*ck did you become this bastard's wife?!" Death screeched in demand, pointing his finger rudely at Ethan as if he was a pile of trash.
Ethan narrowed his eye darkly at the white haired man.
"Listen well, old man, Lillie is my future wife and that's it. Point your dirty finger at me again and I'll swear it won't be the only one I'll break." Ethan scowled, his tone laced with venom.
"Hah?!" A vein popped on Death's forehead, bloody red eyes glinted murderously.
Ethan and Death's forehead were inches away from each other, an invisible line of lighting sparked in their glares.
"It was an arranged marriage. So you know, we aren't married yet." Lillie's hands smacked their foreheads apart. She stared at the two as if she was staring at oversized children.
The two visibly flinched under her watchful eyes. They did stopped trying to slice each other's heads but the glare just kept coming that Lillie gave up stopping it.
Death's hands itched, wishing that he could just wring someone's neck. Specifically, Ethan's.
This prodigious Junior sister of his graduated from their master's teachings and trainings with flying colors, while he remained to help because of losing at a bet he and Lillie agreed upon.
If either loss, they will stay at the Academy with their Master to teach their juniors. Death reluctantly admit that even though he was the first pupil, the Senior, Lillie can still beat him using her left hand.
After Lillie left their Master's wings, she took over her father's company as the CEO and the position of being one the Underworld's Legendary Leaders. At such a young age, Lillie dominated the Underworld, creating a name for herself and made everyone shook in fear just by her name.

She was now far from the vulnerable little girl he saved from those disgusting men that tried to ruin her innocence.
Yes, he was that person who saved her from the pain, shame, darkness and death.
"Who are you." The young Lillie asked the white haired teenager.
"I'm Death."
That day was also the first time he heard her laugh, despite her sobbing mess. He thought she was crazy, but when he heard her reason, even he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Thank you for saving me from...you."
Death shook his head at irony of it. Not only did he saved her, he offered to share his master. The Great Master Wei wanted to smack his only student silly that night. He's not someone who would accept anyone as his pupil or anyone his only pupil threw at him.
If not for Death's determination and begging, he wouldn't have seconds thoughts.
That year, Lillie became the Great Master Wei's second pupil. An anonymous prodigy that everyone from the Academy called Life, in contrary to Death's name.
Death saw Lillie as a little sister he never had but always wanted. He wanted someone to pamper, protect and teach. Unfortunately, this little sister is anything but normal.
So you can't blame him from being upset and angry to find out that his little sister in everything but blood was married—arranged to be married. To make it worse, it has to be 'that' man.
"So, how did you manage to find me?" Lillie asked, observing Death as he put away his little store. It was, after all, five years since they last saw each other and lost contact.
"I had some connections from here and there. Some people really can't keep their mouth shut." He unenthusiastically said.
Lillie hummed and nodded, it was understandable. If we're talking about skills, Death was the number one person you could trust when trying to track someone.

"How's master?"
"Hmm...same old, same old. Until now he doesn't get tired of scolding me and comparing me to you. 'Just look at Lillie! She's younger than you yet she can beat that sorry ass of yours!'" He mimicked with a deep, rough voice.
Lillie didn't know how many times she rolled her eyes this day. It has always been this way every time Life and Death had time to chat. Thought, it was Death who was doing all the bickering.
Sighing, "Strange how you are still roaming around free. How did you manage to escape unnoticed?"
Death grinned, cockily. "I had help."
"You blackmailed someone again?"
"Eek?!" Death sputtered.
Ethan and Lillie shook their head.
Suddenly, Death's phone rang, ruining the tranquility of the night.
"Speak of the devil." Death mumbled, looking at the awfully familiar name, 'Stupid Old man'.
"What's up, master."
[BRAT!]
Death winced, feeling his eardrums burst as the loud sound. He double checked at his phone to see if it's in speaker.
"Master, is it necessary to yell? You're not even in speaker." He groaned.
[Is that how you speak to your master, you ungrateful brat?!] Three highly trained people with sensitive hearing, grimaced at the same time. Death had it worse since he's the one holding the phone next to his ear.
[How dare you disobey and escape?!]
"Master, you let me go, remember?" He lied through his teeth.
[I did not permit such a thing!]
"Master, you're already old and frail. It's no surprise you forgot."
Watching the scene, Lillie pondered on why Master Wei accepted him as a pupil. Maybe he was drunk that day?
[Brat! I may be old but I haven't become senile! Come back here so that I can beat you to death!]
At the other side of the phone, students from the Soaring Dragon Academy backed away in fear of being inflicted by Master Wei's anger. Even if you're blind and deaf, you can still feel the menacing, black aura oozing out from the master holding a telephone. You don't need all six senses to feel this murderous intent.
[Just look at Lillie! She's your junior sister and yet she've already surpassed you and everyone! She's obedient and knows how to listen to her master, that's why she've grown stronger faster than anyone! Unlike you, her Senior Brother! My first pupil!] Ahh, there goes his favorite line. The nonstop comparison.
Death's not upset by this, instead he was amused. He knew that his old master's words were empty, there's really no deep meaning to it but to scold. Death glanced at his Junior sister and hand her the phone.
Lillie accepted the phone giving him a silent message. "Passing your mess to me again, aren't we." Death sheepishly laughed, his hands clasped into a pleading manner.
Master Wei noticed that his ungrateful pupil wasn't answering. When he was about to give him another round of scolding for not listening to his master, a familiar voice—that he hasn't heard for a long time—spoke.

Nowhere Stars
For as long as anyone can remember, humans have been preyed upon by Harbingers, living nightmares which devour dreams and passions and souls, and defended by Keepers. These children alone hold the gift of magic, the wild and wondrous ability to impose emotions over reality and empower their frail bodies with the splendor of their souls. Under their protection, humanity was able to survive and thrive. While modern Keepers have come to enjoy a social position somewhere between celebrities and religious idols, very few accept the mantle simply to be a hero. The Messengers of the Goddess Claiasya, spirits charged with awakening the magic in suitable souls, promise that Keepers who consume and purify enough Harbingers will obtain the power to change themselves or the world in nearly any way they wish. It’s for this purpose that Liadain Shiel, a young girl born terminally ill, throws herself into life as a Keeper when her opportunity comes, hoping against hope to rewrite her fate and save her life while she still can. But magic wants its wielders to grow and change, not simply continue living, and the secrets swimming beneath the sea and behind the sky have lives and designs of their own. Nowhere Stars is an ongoing fantasy-horror web novel about traumacore magical girls, nightmares clothed in ribbons and lace, alienation from reality, and broken children twisting the world into whatever shape they must to make their dreams come true. Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
