"How's your meeting?" Lillie asked him again. ​​

After that, there was an awkward silence. Ethan didn't know what to do or whether he'll sit at his swiveled chair or at the love seats at the corner of the room.

Lillie nonchalantly pulled her phone when she felt it vibrate. Ethan was restless, his eyes darted from different directions to distract himself. Because of this, he practically memorized every single structure of his office.

When Lillie pulled out her phone, she stared at Ethan's roaming eyes. "Those two..."

"Hm?" Ethan snapped out of his trance and focused his all attention attentively at Lillie.

"Song Mo Kun and Tang He Jiu, those two are my people." She admitted.

"Oh..." He absentmindedly mumbled. "Is...is there something I need to know?" Ethan directly asked her. He cannot take the feeling of being clueless about the matter of his own company while his wife knew exactly what it was.

It warmed his heart to know that she's helping him somehow but, he would like it if it was him who's doing all the helping. He suddenly felt like it was him on the 'bottom'.

With a sigh, Lillie stood from his chair and faced the window as she look, distant eyes, below.

"We both knew that our marriage is final and complete ineluctable."

Ethan replied with an simple "en". There's something that kept on bugging his mind that cause him not to think straight.

"So, secrets are meant to be shared by spouses, isn't that right?" Lillie's continue to face him. The expressions she's showing, even if she's facing him, will remain unknown.

"Hm..." He nodded, slowly.

"Ethan...do you...recognize those?"

He was confused at first, but when his eyes landed on the files placed on his table, he felt his heart stuck on his throat.

Because he was so distracted seeing Lillie inside his office, he failed to notice those files, blatantly exposing itself on everyone's sight.

He really wanted to smack himself silly. How on Earth did he, the Ethan Li, not see those open files that says in bold,

Ethan does not wanted to know on how the hell did Lillie found out. The real question is, what is her relation with the Underworld?! How did she know about Red Dragon? Is she somehow part of it or with the other Underworld Leaders?!

"Lillie..." He called out, testing the waters. Seeing her unresponsive, he assumed she wanted to hear his explanation.

"Even though you asked first but, how are you related to the Underworld?"

"I will answer if you answer my question first."

He saw it coming. He should've known that Lillie won't answer unless you answer her questions. Inhaling deeply, he replied, "I am-no, 'was' Red Dragon. I left the Underworld long ago."

'Because of you' is what he wanted to say but choose not to. Ethan left the mafia because he would not like to be a criminal. If someone found out about his identity, it will implicate the people he held dear.

Ethan would not like to see the look of disgust on her beautiful blue eyes that is why he quitted. Her look of resentment was enough for him to handle but not the look that says 'You are the worst! I will never accept someone like you.'

But now, even though Lillie still did not turn around, she did not voice out her disgust nor fear. It was more of a normal curious question.

"Did you assigned anyone as the next boss?" Now this question caused his eyebrows to quirk.

"Next boss? I'm afraid I've long disbanded the organization." After Ethan left the Underworld, he no longer have any news about what was happening. He promised not to turn back, not to hold any connections to any Underworld matters. He left for good.

What 'next boss' is she talking about? He practically erased his own organization. Its former members either created their own organization or left the Underworld to live a normal life like he did.
