It was the first time in Lu Yeming’s life that someone used this phrase to describe him. He smirked. “You admit that I am your lover then?”

This man was truly devious. He managed to turn her own words against her.

Jun Xiqing yanked her hand back. “Let’s get things straight. Who was I seducing?”

“Are you still trying to pretend?” Lu Yeming snorted. “Feng Sinan.”

Feng Sinan.

Of course Jun Xiqing knew of that name. He and Gu Mohan were the two most wealthy men on the planet. They controlled the financial pulse of the world.

“I have never met him,” Jun Xiqing said in all honesty.

Ha. Lu Yeming became even more scornful. “Did you not board his car today? Wasn’t he the one who sent you to the hospital?”

So that was him.

Jun Xiqing recalled the handsome, distinguished man in the driver’s seat. So he was Feng Sinan.

“You misunderstand. I boarded his car by mistake and took him for a chauffeur.”

“Ha.” Lu Yeming chuckled. “You are stupid and so you think that I am as stupid as you? There are only two Lantou luxury cars in the world. A business magazine recently ranked Feng Sinan as the world’s number one eligible bachelor. Women all over the world hanker after him. And you took him to be a chauffeur?”

Jun Xiqing raised her brows but remained silent. Silence meant agreement. Lu Yeming’s face was clouded with a thick malevolence.

“You pretended to board Feng Sinan’s car by accident, and triggered his interest with a name card. Jun Xiqing, you always act like an innocent, chaste girl in front of me, but somehow ended up with a playboy like Feng Sinan?”

Jun Xiqing brows suddenly relaxed and she only smiled serently at Lu Yeming.

Then she turned to leave.

Lu Yeming grabbed her. “What, now that I have exposed you, you are feeling embarrassed and wish to flee?”

Jun Xiqing glanced askance at him. She looked at him with an amused expression. “Feng Sinan is handsome, rich and as powerful as you. He and I are both single. Why don’t you become a modern matchmaker and introduce me to him?”

What?

Lu Yeming’s eyes went completely dark. “Dream on. He will never like a woman whom I have already bedded.”

Jun Xiqing tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and her features held a calm and nonchalant allure. She was 23 years old and at the prime of her youthful beauty, and growing significantly lovelier by the day.

She gave a careless grin. “That’s too bad. But never mind, there’s no lack of men in this world. I can easily find a better one.”

Lu Yeming inhaled sharply as he tightened his grip around her wrist. A red mark had already appeared on Jun Xiqing’s wrist. “President Lu, let go. You are hurting me.”

But Lu Yeming didn’t let go and instead tightened his grip even more.

A low, smooth voice sounded out. “Lu Yeming, Qingqing asked you to let go. Didn’t you hear her?”

Lu Yeming looked up to see that Dongfang Yu had arrived. And his bright eyes landed on Lu Yeming’s handsome face.

At the sound, Lu Yeming’s brows quivered, as if he just recalled something interesting, before he calmly let go of Jun Xiqing.

“Brother, why are you out of bed?” Jun Xiqing immediately went to Dongfang Yu’s side. She gazed at her brother anxiously.

“Qingqing, let’s go back to the room.” Dongfang Yu shot Lu Yeming a glance before leading Jun Xiqing away.

“Young Master Dongfang, Sinan has returned.” Lu Yeming suddenly spoke up.

The words made Dongfang Yu stop in his tracks, as Jun Xiqing glanced up at her brother. “Brother, what’s the matter?”

Dongfang Yu’s bright eyes were shaded by his wispy fringe, so that no one could see what he was thinking. His silence was disrupted by Lu Yeming.

“Jun Xiqing, I’m warning you to stay away from Sinan. He is not someone you can afford to provoke. Moreover, Sinan already has a fiancée. This fiancée is every bit as good as you. She is beautiful and talented, and has known Sinan from a young age. They are heralded as the so-called golden couple.

“As for who this fiancée is, you can ask your beloved brother. See if I am telling the truth.”

Dongfang Yu had been quietly listening to this speech. After another moment of silence, he led Jun Xiqing back to his ward.

Soon after the incident, Dongfang Yu was discharged. Jun Xiqing didn’t ask about Feng Sinan and that mysterious fiancée. He would tell her about it if he wished to. And if he didn’t, why should she purposely try to probe into something which caused him grief?

Anyway, it was clear that Brother had loved someone.

Jun Xiqing received a telephone call. It was Bei Yuewu. “Hello Qingqing. It’s my birthday in two days’ time. I will be having a party and you must attend.”

Jun Xiqing knew Bei Yuewu liked her and had been trying to make her her daughter-in-law. She would have to disappoint her on that count.

But regardless of what had happened, she definitely had to attend this birthday party.

“Auntie, will Dongfang Wanqing be attending your birthday party too?”

Mu Yanfeng had just come from the airport. He caught wind about the things that had occurred over the past few days between Lu Yeming and Jun Xiqing, and so immediately rushed over on an overnight flight.

His eyes brightened on seeing Jun Xiqing. “Qingqing.”

Jun Xiqing stopped and her lips curved into a smile. She had few friends and Mu Yanfeng was considered one of them. “Young Master Mu, what a coincidence.”

Mu Yanfeng quickly went up to her and hugged her.

Jun Xiqing batted her long lashes. Mmm… she didn’t think that their friendship was so close that they were on hugging terms?

“Qingqing, Lu Yeming dared to treat you in that manner. The moment I heard the news, I hated myself for not being by your side. I’m glad you are fine.”

Hearing his heartfelt words, Jun Xiqing was very moved, and she patted his arm reassuringly. “Young Master Mu, thank you.”
