Tang Mo’er had a good chat with Director Yue. Tomorrow, they would have a screen test to confirm the roles.

Originally, Director Yue had wanted to give the leading lady role to Tang Mo’er, but she just batted her lashes mysteriously. “Director Yue, I will not be acting anymore in the future. I am switching to behind-the-scenes work.”

Director Yue gave a long sigh but his respect for Tang Mo’er only increased. She knew when it was time to step back from the limelight.

Tomorrow, Jiaxing Entertainment’s young talents would be coming over for the screening test. Director Yue left soon after they confirmed the arrangements.

Tang Mo’er took a small sip from the glass of red wine she was holding in her hand. She lifted her eyes and gazed before her.

A tall, handsome figure was standing at a distance. It was Gu Mohan, and by his side was Yu Rubing. The two of them were standing together, talking about goodness-knows-what.

“Boss, that’s Yu Rubing. There are rumors swirling amongst the entertainment circles that Yu Rubing has a wealthy sponsor backing her. I had some people investigate, and over the past three years, all of Yu Rubing’s resources have indeed originated from C.T Corporation. By this count, the rumors of C.T President Gu Mohan being Yu Rubing’s sponsor are not baseless at all.”

Tang Mo’er raised one exquisite eyebrow. “Got it.”

At this moment, Gu Mohan turned and looked toward her. The two of them met each other’s eyes for a few seconds. Gu Mohan pursed his lips and strode toward her.

“Boss, President Gu is heading this way. Although we are not sure what’s going on between President Gu and Yu Rubing, I can tell that he still has feelings for you. President Gu is the richest man on earth now. Even if Boss doesn’t want him, you still mustn’t let Yu Rubing have him.”

Her eyes followed Gu Mohan until he reached her side.

“President Gu.” She greeted him with a slight curl of her red lips.

Gu Mohan looked at her, his eyes and tone were as cold as ice. “Is there nothing you wish to say to me?”

“What’s there to say? You mean… the thing that happened that morning?” Tang Mo’er raised her lovely brows in a charming manner.

At the mention of that morning, Gu Mohan’s eyes darkened. “Tang Mo’er, don’t pretend to be ignorant!”

“Since President Gu doesn’t wish to make things clear, then I shall be taking my leave.”

Tang Mo’er headed toward the washroom and as she was walking along the corridor, her slender wrist was caught by a man pursuing from behind.

There was no one else around and Gu Mohan glared at her fiercely. “Tang Mo’er, what do you mean by this? Why are you playing around like this with me?”

Tang Mo’er returned his look. “President Gu already has such a beautiful woman by his side, why should you still care about what I do?”

Beautiful woman?

Those two words instantly brought out a gush of icy malevolence deep within Gu Mohan’s profound eyes.

Tang Mo’er pulled her hand back and threw the tabloid at him. “Aren’t you the clearest on what you have done?”

Lowering his head, Gu Mohan quickly scanned the tabloid and his lips curled up slowly.

“Ha.” He choked out a thick laugh as his icy glare seemed to melt into nothing. “Did Ron give this to you? You saw this tabloid at Paradise Island and so you became jealous, angry and aggrieved? That was why you came to my room that morning and raped me? Then after raping me, you brought Sisi back here and ignored me for two whole weeks, behaving coldly whenever you saw me.

“Tang Mo’er, why didn’t you just directly ask me when you had those doubts? Instead of trusting me, you would rather believe what others say, believe in a tabloid?”

He was a very intuitive person and instantly discerned what had been going on. He bombarded her with a barrage of questions, exuding a forceful and compelling aura.

Tang Mo’er had felt rather righteous before, but his admonishment made her feel like she had been kicking up a big fuss over nothing.

“Gu Mohan, that Rolls-Royce Phantom is your car. Yu Rubing was sitting on the passenger side. How can I believe what you say?”

Gu Mohan stared at her coldly. “Are all Rolls-Royce Phantoms my car? During last year’s annual year-end conference, I gave all upper management staff one Rolls-Royce Phantom each.”

Tang Mo’er was struck dumb.

Was C.T Corporation so extravagant now?

“Also, did you see me getting off from the driver’s side? That day, Yan Dong was driving Yu Rubing around and happened to have stopped outside that hotel. If you didn’t show this to me, I would have had no idea those paparazzi wrote all this trash.

“Do you think I am that kind of person? Only you are allowed to sit in my passenger seat. You are the only person I am willing to be the driver for.”

Hearing his words, Tang Mo’er had no idea what to say. So she had misunderstood him.

Still… Wasn’t he the one to arrange for Yan Dong to drive Yu Rubing around?

“Then what is going on between you and Yu Rubing? Why is your secretary driving her around? Hasn’t C.T been financially supporting Yu Rubing over the past three years? Aren’t you Yu Rubing’s sponsor?”

If he had been truly right and proper, why would those paparazzi hound after him?

It was because he was somehow intertwined with that Yu Rubing.

Gu Mohan’s cold lips curled up in a sarcastic smile and he replied blandly, “I had chosen Yu Rubing as my intended future wife.”

Tang Mo’er stiffened as she stared at him in a daze.

Stepping forward, Gu Mohan forced her up against the wall as he looked down at her imperiously. “You disappeared for a whole three years in order to save your brother Lu Yeming. Everyone thought you were dead. Three years ago, I told you before that if you left us, I would forget you and take on a new wife.

“Tang Mo’er, why are you looking at me like that? Did you expect me to never remarry, to be alone forever because of you?”

It was as if a large palm was squeezing Tang Mo’er’s heart, making her every breath a painful gasp. He more or less begrudged her and hated her for what she did to save Yeming three years ago.

For three whole years, she had abandoned him for Yeming.

This was a deeply-rooted thorn in his heart.

Tang Mo’er tried to imagine herself in his shoes. If Gu Mohan had a sister who was not related by blood and who was obsessed with him, and in the end, he had ditched her just to save that sister—she would definitely mind it a lot.

The deeper the love, the more one would mind.

Tang Mo’er quickly reached out her arms and hugged his firm waist tightly. “Mr Gu, I’m sorry… I love both you and Yeming deeply. I know I have a million reasons to save him but you don’t…

“Mr Gu, forgive me. I will love you properly from now on. I will use the rest of my life to make it up to you…”

Gu Mohan raised one handsome brow and smirked. “I did give Yu Rubing all those resources and I am indeed her sponsor. I have been supporting her these past three years and would have married her if you hadn’t appeared… all of this, are you sure you don’t mind?”

Tang Mo’er’s heart ached tremendously. The rims of her eyes reddened. “Mr Gu, why must you provoke me like this? Yes, you’re really hurting me, are you happy now?”

Gu Mohan kept silent for about two seconds before pushing her away. “I have really felt like a complete fool these past two weeks. I will no longer be that fool. Tang Mo’er, I will never throw myself at you like this again.”

With that, he turned and strode away.

He left just like that.
