He had just been thinking of her, and here she was right in front of him.

Xia Ling put a few coins into the ticketing machine and walked to the back of the bus with Mu Mu in hand. At this moment, she heard the bus driver say, “Sir, please pay when you board the bus.”

Xuan Ying stood tall and straight beside the bus door. He looked at the ticketing machine and pressed his thin lips together in displeasure.

He had never taken a bus before and didn’t know that he had to pay with coins.

Hearing the bus driver ask him to pay, his lips pressed into a line of displeasure. His handsome features were tight and he had a dark aura of coldness surrounding him.

Xia Ling didn’t recognize him.

But for some reason, she felt a sudden twinge of pain in her heart when she looked at him.

She found that she couldn’t look away at all.

Beside her, Mu Mu recognized Xuan Ying immediately. Her eyes lit up as she tugged on Xia Ling’s hand and said, “Mommy, the handsome uncle forgot to bring coins. Can you lend him some?”

Looking at Mu Mu’s big innocent eyes, Xia Ling pulled out a coin. Mu Mu ran happily over to the bus driver and tiptoed to hand him to drop the coin in with her small fair hands.

“Handsome uncle, you can come in now.”

Then Mu Mu ran back to Xia Ling’s side.

The bus was filled with people and there was only one space left. Xia Ling picked Mu Mu up and let her sit down before standing in front of her. But the bus was too crowded and someone knocked into her.

“Sorry,” the person said.

Xia Ling turned around to look. The person who had knocked into her was a bright young man. He apologized immediately.

“It’s fine.”

Xia Ling shook her head and looked back at Mu Mu.

Xia Ling was still the same person as before. She was warm and loving towards those she cared about and cold towards strangers.

The man looked at Xia Ling’s beautiful side profile. Her skin was glowing and her lips were red with her eyelashes long and curled. She looked like a painting from a distinguished artist.

This man had never seen someone so beautiful in his life and he started blushing. He was debating whether he should ask for her contact details.

But his vision turned dark as a tall figure squeezed in between Xia Ling and him. Xuan Ying had come over to stand behind Xia Ling. Both of them were facing the window. He took a hand out of his pocket to hold the railing.

As Xuan Ying was an elite, he had been steeped in wealth and fame for many years. The man looked small in comparison to him.

His actions were nothing big, and nothing out of the ordinary in this crowded bus. But as he stood behind Xia Ling, one hand above her with his chest open, he looked as though he was protecting her in his embrace.

He left no room for people to look at her.

The man seemed to sense something and turned away begrudgingly.

Xia Ling didn’t seem to have noticed everything that had happened behind her. At this moment, Mommy tugged on her hand and said, “Mommy, this cotton candy is so sweet, here, have some too.”

“Sure!”

Xia Ling bent over to eat the cotton candy.

When Xuan Ying lowered his handsome face, he saw her lower her lips to the cotton candy before sticking her tongue out to lick it, then taking a small bite.
