Chapter 1079: Did You Miss Me?

Lin Xuanji didn’t move, but her grip tightened on the books in her arms.

A bigger smile hinted at the edges of Lu Jinwen’s mouth. “It’s only been two weeks and you can’t recognize me already?”

Lin Xuanji a twinge in her chest. She batted her lashes, lowering her head. “No thanks, Mr Lu. I’ve already reached my place.”

She turned around, turning into the district.

She rejected him.

She hadn’t gotten in his car.

Seeing her leave, Lu Jinwen narrowed his eyes. He was displeased and his gaze was cold and piercing.

Lin Xuanji entered the apartment building and she heard some steady footsteps behind. Someone was following her.

Was it him?

It must be him.

Why did he follow her?

She sped up, running towards the elevator.

Lu Jinwen had one hand in his pocket, while holding his car keys with the other. Lin Xuanji had started to run, her hair flowing behind her as she ran away like a frightened deer, trying to shake him off.

He raised the corners of his lips, tender and adoring.

Once she reached the elevator, Lin Xuanji quickly pressed the button for the door to open. She ran inside in a panic, pressing the door closed frantically.

Right before the door closed, she could see him outside. He had followed her, but he walked over at his own pace. Even right before the elevator doors shut, he hadn’t sped up.

He just looked at her so calmly, a faint smile on his lips.

Lin Xuanji had a feeling, she somehow could never run away from his clutches. He wasn’t really on her heels, it felt like he was just letting her run just because she wanted to.

The elevator door closed and Lin Xuanji leaned back, gasping for fresh air. She had finally gotten rid of him.

This man’s aura was too strong. Though she had feelings for him, she was also very afraid of him at the same time. She didn’t dare look at him and could muster her courage and only take secret glances at him.

It was the feeling of a first love, it felt wonderful.

Lin Xuanji’s heart pounded as she was reminded of the lot she had received at the temple.

“I’m not making a scene,” she said softly.

Lu Jinwen held her wrist, pinning her against the wall as he sandwiched her between himself and the wall. Furrowing his brows, he slowly leaned forward, taking a deep sniff of her hair beside her face.

Her hair brushed against his cheek, his nose was filled with the fragrance from her hair. He had already planned to do that when he was at the campus entrance earlier. It was indeed a good move.

Since they had a height difference, Lin Xuanji’s entire body was completely in his embrace. She stretched her arms out, but they touched his trim waist instead. All she could grab was the leather belt around his waist.

She could feel his strong, defined muscles underneath his clothes.

No one should ever touch a man’s waist and belt so easily.

She quickly retracted her hand, as though she had been scalded.

“You’re angry with me? You’re angry because I didn’t contact you for two weeks?” Lu Jinwen said with a magnetic voice, “I’m sorry, Baby, I’ve been quite busy.”

Lin Xuanji’s heart started thumping wildly. She forgave him too easily. “I’m not angry…”

“Let me hug you then.”

He placed his hands on her svelte waist, grasping it as he lifted her up.

Lin Xuanji was shocked. He had lifted her up so high, she quickly stretched her arms out to hold onto his neck.

“Ha.” Lu Jinwen let out a chuckle. “You’ve grown a little taller but you haven’t gained any weight at all. You’re not even 90 pounds.”

She was reminded of Yanmei’s words, Mr Lu doted on her as if she was his daughter.

Lu Jinwen started kissing her face. “Did you miss me? You’ve appeared in my dreams every night.”

Lin Xuanji opened the box and found a CD inside. She inserted the CD in her computer and clicked it open to see the contents.

It was a screen of Japanese words. Lin Xuanji only took a glance at it when there was the sound of someone opening the door.
