His gaze was scorching hot. He stared at her, openly and without hiding any part of himself. The area of skin he stroked was burning up and slowly turning numb, as though she had been electrocuted.
Lin Xuanji turned her gaze away awkwardly.
Seeing her turn away, Lu Jinwen frowned slightly, hiding the emotion from his eyes.
“Relax, if you’re not willing, I won’t force you,” he said softly.
“I thought… you had left with Wang Yanran.”
“Of course not. I was only getting rid of her.”
“Don’t you want a woman?”
His deep eyes were rimmed with red, his eyes bloodshot. If anything, his intense appearance was a little terrifying.

Lu Jinwen lifted his eyes to meet hers. “The only woman I want is you. I never intended to touch Wang Yanran. I only called her over to give you a scare. All her senses were overcome with his strong masculine scent. Her teeth were forced apart as he invaded her lips, thoroughly, decisively. Lin Xuanji pressed one hand against his chest, wanting to push him away, as she ran out of breath.

Lu Jinwen shut his eyes tight and broke off the kiss. He buried his head in her hair and sniffed it deeply. With Lin Xuanji pressed under him, it was like she was in a trance, she stared unblinkingly up at the chandelier above them.
It was then that Lu Jinwen opened his eyes. He pushed himself up from the bed quickly and said in a husky voice, “Sleep. I’ll go take a shower.”
